Chapter 1
Arc 1 - You Lose - Part 1
“I am called Cosmic Titan,” spoke a floating beautiful tall and muscular man with golden hair and blue eyes. “And I am here to save you.”
He wore a black skin-tight costume with a red cape. Around his hip area, he supported a shiny silver belt.
“So, please, stand back.”
His majestic voice caused the people beneath him to tighten their chest in an emotion they hadn’t felt in a while; hope.
The humanoid frogs on the ground cheered.
For many years, they had been living under the gaze of a king who ruled over them with an iron fist.
But right now, their king was cowering on the ground, shouting for the help of his worthless subjects.
“H-hel-help me.”
The Cosmic Titan clenched his fist.
“You should have thought of this when you killed millions of them. Did they not suffer? Did they not have lives of their own? Only you get to cry for your life and someone - somehow magically - will come up and save you?!”
Cosmic Titan is a hero well known throughout the galaxy.
When this mighty titan swung a fist, worlds died.
When this mighty titan smiled, it ended wars.
When this mighty titan spoke, worlds cheered in hope.
But they knew one thing, even though he would get angry, but violence was the last thing that crossed his mind.
Most of the villains whom he faced fell shortly after a small blast of energy or let the people defeat them
He always avoids letting loose because when he was a new hero, he saw his friend getting murdered brutally by a villain. The livid new hero unleashed everything he had and accidentally destroyed many uninhabitable worlds.
“You disgust me, Kiar.”
The king cowering on the ground gritted his teeth in anger.
“YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS HUMILIATION, TITAAAAAANNNNNNN!!!”
He tried to get up but one of his former generals, who was holding a sword and wearing silver metallic armour, stabbed him in his heart.
Cosmic Titan shut his eyes for that moment.
He is a hero.
He is the greatest hero.
He saves people.
He doesn’t kill.
But sometimes, it has to be done. Some people are just too bad.
However, he won’t do it himself.
He will never kill anyone.
That’s his rule.
That’s the rule his parents embedded into his mind.
If someone else were to kill the worst of the worst in front of him for the greater good, he would try not to stop it.
Evil must pay.
“I wish you well, Nuals,” he forced a warm smile on his face and waved at the people as he flew far away towards the dark space.
That was his life.
The greatest hero in the world and a well-respected person across the cosmos.
So, where did it all go wrong?

Alpha Scion is a large planet that’s divided into 50 states. Each of the states was divided by the blue ocean.

The world is ruled over a unified government, but each state has its own localised government.
The unified government came about a few thousand years ago after a world war.
In every era, powerful individuals flew high up in the skies and battled villains with their vibrant powers.
And naturally, super teams were formed.
In this era, the「Alpha Phoenix」are the sole superhero team.
“Let’s do this!.”
In the outskirts of the capital state, Silanos, there is a small city called Walgi City.
“The heroes go down today,” Black Wing took a deep breath.
Black Wing stood atop a small red grassy hill, under a pink tree.
The centre of the city was only less than 20 miles away.
“It’s time for my plan--”
He burst into laughter.
Plan? What am I doing… He let out a sigh. I was never a man of plans. I just love chaos. So, maybe I should--
He shook his head.
No, I need to finish this once and for all.
For most of his career, he played around with the heroes and every time, he was humiliated.
But that never bothered him.
He didn’t care about anything except causing chaos.
Just this once, he has a goal.
A goal that he can grasp with the palm of his hand.
It’s very close.
“The days of my reign begin.”
He crouched.
As a thin smile appeared on his face, he jumped up from the hill, leaving the hill crumbled.
Like a rocket, he flew through the air.
He kept his height low so he could do more damage to the city.
Closing into the centre of the city, he shot out dark tendrils in every direction and slashed dozens of buildings, killing thousands upon thousands of people.
“Tch.”
He noticed his speed was dropping, so he took another deep breath and slowed down.
The dark tendrils wriggled as it was shot forward towards the standing buildings.
Clutching to it, Black Wing quickly retracted the dark tendrils back into his body.
He pushed his body backwards while decreasing the length of the tendrils.
He pushed himself back even more.
Then he thrust forward with force, shooting himself like a rocket.
He had used his tendrils as a slingshot.
I am faster.
Flying above the city once more, he unleashed dark tendrils once more to slash the remaining buildings.
His aim was the statue, which was at the centre of the city.
That’s where his underlings will be.
He told them to destroy the statue first and as soon as it does, the huge statue will cause some chaos which means a few seconds later, someone will get there.
When Barbarian dropped the statue, Soul Slayer alerted me. Which means...
“He is already there by now.”
He, Cosmic Titan, the most powerful of the heroes. An almost God that lives among humans.
Cosmic Titan and Black Wing have battled many times over, and every time, Back Wing was defeated.
But now...
“Hehe, this is going to be fun.”
The distance between them was shrinking, so he had to get ready.

Even one second window is enough for Cosmic Titan to defeat Black Wing, so he needs to act fast.
He is not physically powerful to overpower Cosmic Titan, but he can do something else.
I don’t want to use that, but if it comes to it, I should not hesitate.
So, Black Wing has something else in mind. Something that will definitely buy him the time he needs.
Good work, Barbarian.
Black Wing smiled thinly as he produced a blade from his dark energies.
He was getting close. The distance between them was less than a hundred meters now.
All he has to do is jump down on these floating heroes and kill them.
I will do it! I will end this once and for all.
Taking in a deep breath, he swung the sword and slashed the head of their weakest member, Fallen angel.
He was dead.
Halocopter.
He was on the verge of moving past the heroes without doing any more damage, so he produced two tendrils and stabbed it into the Halocopter of Moon Halo.
That allowed him to swing his sword once more.
Black Wing twisted his upper body and slashed Moon Halo who was standing atop his Halocopter.
One more down...
From the corner of his eye, he noticed that Cosmic Titan had sensed him.
!!
Worry overwhelmed him.
Just one more second and he will be defeated.
No.
He gritted his teeth.
Not this time.
Black Wing used every ounce of energy he had and focused it on speed.
He looked around and noticed something.
The statue… Good!
The statue was in the middle of the intersection, and it was day time.
And that is a problem.
There aren’t many, but the shadows still exist. That’s all I need.
Black Wing used the shadow of the statue to create tendrils and shoot it at them.
These shooting tendrils stabbed into their heads and killed them off.
One tendril was enough for one hero. These heroes are weak compared to Cosmic Titan whom he battles regularly.
It’s NOT ENOUGH!
Cosmic Titan was still standing.
The one who matters the most.
What-- Oh!
Cosmic Titan had turned his head.
Their gaze was about to meet.
He is going to lose once again.
This will have been for nothing.
No… I don’t have another choice.
VRRRRR.
Something vibrated under his robes.
The sword… His eyes widened. But what is it--
However, to the surprise of Black Wing, Cosmic Titan fell down.
Thanks, sword.
Cosmic Titan had fallen down.
This was his best option to attack him and defeat him.
VRRRRRR.
The sword did not stop vibrating.
What is it doing?
A huge surge of energy shot out of the sword, decimating everything and everyone around Black Wing for a few meters.
“Woah!” since the energy was shot out, it destroyed the plane too, so he started to fall down.
However, he used the shadow created by the explosion to make a sponge of darkness, which cushioned his fall.
I wanted to decimate this town myself-- Ah. Is it reacting to my thoughts? No wonder it didn’t decimate the whole city. I want to take my time-- Oh. He is getting back up once more.
Cosmic Titan was forcing himself to stand up, so Black Wing started to laugh like a maniac.
He had not heard of such a sword before.
This sword was more powerful than anyone or anything he had come across before.
“Hehe… hehe...”
I love this!
Cosmic Titan stood up and their gazes met.
“Black Wing?”
“Haha... HAHA!”
His maniac-like laugh created a shockwave that destroyed everything for a few hundred meters.
I love this! This power… This sword… And this victory.
He sucked in a breath.
Is this how victory feels like? Is this how you always felt, Titan?
“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!” Cosmic Titan shouted on top of his lungs as faint blue energy started to cover him.
Oh no, he is-- His worried look immediately vanished. No, I have this sword.
“YOU MAD--”
Cosmic Titan gave up talking and attacked.
He flew right at Black Wing.
No...
The distance between them was a few meters.
It was a done deal.
But!
It won’t end the same way. Because this time, I will stand atop no matter what it takes! Do you understand, Titan? You are done for. You are weak against me now, haha. Hehe.
While laughing like a psychopath, from under his robes, Black Wing produced a golden glowing sword and stabbed into the ground, sending ripples across the planet.
And.
And.
And…
Cosmic Titan fell face down to the ground, powerless.
“Haha, isn’t this funny?”
He followed Black Wing’s voice and forced his gaze towards him.
“It is always the opposite. You win, I lose. You triumph while I get humiliated.”
Black Wing walked towards him.
Although he has no emotion-based powers, he can tell that Cosmic Titan is furious, but scared at the very same time. He is feeling fear like no other.
Not for himself, but for the rest of the world.
“But this time, it’s different.”
Under the robes and hood, Black Wing smiled a smile like never before.
A smile of victory.
Ahhhh. This feels nice. Nice. Nice. Nice! NICE! THIS IS THE BEST FEELING EVER!
“This time...”
Black Wing stabbed his foot into Cosmic Titan’s face, blackening his vision.
“YOU LOSE”
Over the near-dead body of Cosmic Titan, Black Wing continued to laugh like a maniac.
VRRRRRRR.
The sword vibrated once more.
“Yes, that’s right… Yes.”
Today is Cycle 1.1, the first day of the year 5650. It has been 5650 days since the unified government was formed. It has been 5650 years since the world started to be shaped into utopia.
But now, after thousands of years, the fall of utopia fell.
“Blow it up, my beautiful sword.”
Energy burst out of the sword, levelling everything for hundreds of miles.
“Let the age of villains begin!”

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
