《The Royal Mates》Chapter Six

~Amorelli~
The next night, Maya, Zinniah and I once again met in the same place at the same time. We didn't waste any time getting started.
"So, today, we'll be talking about where you guys are."
"Alright," I said and held Zinniah in front of me.
"You are in a remote area in India. This place is protected by some serious magic, and it would take some serious elbow grease to get this barrier around us down."
"That much? We're against more power than I thought."
"Sadly. But there is this one area they haven't covered, which is the place you girls will be leaving though."
"Alright, can you show us where it is?"
"Not tonight. But the night that you girls leave I will show you."
"But what if we get caught early, wouldn't it be good to know where it is?" Zinniah asked curiously, and she proved a point. Maya thought about it for a second before she showed us.
"Here. Through here. This is how you girls will get out. But there is a catch."
"Which is?"
"Well, there are several tunnels. We've only used this place once and that's when we were attacked when this place first started out. And since that day no one has been able to use it, and no one else knows about it for certain reasons."
"So that the people wouldn't escape," I said.
"Precisely."
"So what are the catches?"
"Booby traps," Zinniah said in a small voice.
"Correct little flower," Maya told her and she giggled.
"After the attack, we left through this crawlspace and left booby traps behind us. Fortunately, they did not follow us so they didn't find out where this location was. And yes, I will get rid of the booby traps, but only on the correct tunnels. If you find a booby trap, then you're going the wrong way. However, I will tell you each time before we end our session which way to go so that the directions will become embedded into your brains."
"Thank you. We appreciate your help."
"You're welcome."
"But out of curiosity, why are you helping us? And is there anyone else we could try and help escape?"
"Well, as you can tell, this place is a hell hole. And there are obviously many other places that are better than here. Plus, the prophecy-"
"You mentioned a prophecy before. And, I'm assuming you were about to tell me what it was but I cut you off."
"Precisely."
Zinniah and I giggled and let Maya sigh and continued.
"Anyways, there are actually two prophecies. Obviously one good and one bad, which do you want to hear first?"
"Bad." Zinniah and I said this simultaneously.
"Alright, well the bad prophecy is that if the princess of the seas- which means you, Amorelli, does not leave this wretched place by the time she is of age, eighteen years old, then she will never be able to return home to her family. The princess of the seas would be a forgotten princess, however, she would still have her other half, aka your mate."
"Who is my mate?"
"The prince, or soon-to-be king of Russia. However, Russia is mostly known for its werewolves."
"So my mate is a werewolf?"
"Correct."
"Huh. Would you look at that? A dog and a fish. A dogfish!" Zinniah giggles at her little comment.
"Hey, watch who you're talking to you little weed." I playfully pushed her after saying that and we all burst into laughter.

"Do you know my mate's name?"
"Rumors are that it is either, Samuel, Richard, or Benjamin. To be completely honest, we do not know his name. We just know that his last name is York."
"I'll keep that noted."
"So, back to the topic at hand, the good prophecy. The other prophecy is that if you get out alive, then you will be united with your mate after a month if you move slowly. Two weeks if you are constantly on the move. However, you absolutely need to go to Russia first. Even if your life depends on it."
"Why can't I go to the sea first?"
"Do you really think your family would let you leave their sights if you went home after eighteen years from being kidnapped?"
"Touche."
"However, if you met your mate first, then after a few days of getting to know him, then you can go to the sea with him and a few guards and voila, you get both."
"I see."
"Wait, how come the prophecy says only Amorelli can go home?" Zinniah asks curiously. However, I could see the worry in her eyes.
"That's where you come in. To be honest, the Boss didn't want you girls to become so close, because if Amorelli did escape, and with a friend who just so happens how to shapeshift, you both could get there faster. Keep in mind, you can turn into animals. So if needed, turn into a hippogriff and have Amorelli climb on your back and you can fly away."
"But I thought hippogriffs didn't exist?"
"Honey, did you think mermaids or werewolves existed?"
"Touche..."
We all giggled and continued talking about the prophecies. It was 11:50, so we decided to hear about the tunnel very quickly.
"So, with the tunnel, you are first going to crawl 50 yards, then you will come across three different tunnels. The tunnels all have a slight color tint to them. The right is yellow, the middle is green, and the left is completely black. Sadly, you're going to want to go into the one that is completely black."
"Awe come on!" Zinniah grumbles and hangs her head. I rub her back in an attempt to comfort her and she leans into my touch.
"Hey, I did you a favor. The right tunnel used to be the black one and the left used to be yellow. I switched the tunnel so that the right tunnel is a dead end and the left tunnel is the way out. I've configured it over the past ten years, ever since you girls were seven and five."
"Thank you."
"Anyways, go through the left tunnel. After crawling for another 20 yards, there will again be three more tunnels. Go through none of them."
"Then how the hell are we supposed to get out?" I asked, a bit angry.
"There will be a latch above you right in front of the middle tunnel, go through that and then make a right. After that, about five yards make a left. Then make another right soon after and you will see two more tunnels. Go right. Then ten yards later you're home free."
"That's a lot of tunnels."
"Well, you're going to have to remember. I can make you guys a little map tomorrow to try and help you remember."
"That would be great. Thank you."
"Alright. Flower, time?"
"11:55. Let's go."
We once again ran back to the house and got there just in time. We went into the cabin and went to sleep.

"Another day of knowledge."
"Yep."
"Amorelli?"
"Yes?"
"Do you think I have a mate?"
"Of course you do. Everyone gets a mate."
"What do you think he or she will be like?"
"I don't know."
"I hope they're nice and kind and they treat me well."
"Well, I hope for that as well. Maybe my mate will treat me like his princess. Literally. Considering I'd be a princess with or without him."
"True."
We both giggled and laid in our beds.
"Goodnight my little weed."
"Goodnight my codfish."
I whacked her with my pillow, laughed, and fell into a deep sleep.

~Mordikai~
"Miss Olivia?"
"Yes? Mordikai, is that you?"
"Yes, ma'am. May I enter?"
"Of course boy!"
I smiled lightly as I entered Miss Olivia's room. Miss Olivia was our fortune teller. She had a crystal ball and everything. We usually went to her for guidance.
"Mordikai, you're feeling troubled. About your sister."
"Please... You have to tell us where she is."
"Mordikai, I have told both you and your parents. I can not find her. Wherever they took her, the place is covered in a magical force. It does not enable me to be able to locate her. Believe me, Mordikai, if I was able to locate her, I would have done it years ago. I still try every day and I come up with nothing."
"Alright... Thank you, Miss Olivia." I start to make my way out of her room when she calls for me.
"Wait. Mordikai, I feel something."
"What? Should I get my father?"
"No. It'll be gone by the time you get there and back. This feeling is very faint. Come. Now." Her eyes started to gloss over and she placed her hands on her ball. I remained quiet, knowing she would need to concentrate on this as hard as she could. Before I knew it, an image appeared of three women talking amongst themselves in a little clearing. The location doesn't look familiar to me. I take Miss Olivia's hand so I can try to hear what they are saying.
"The prophecy says that the princess of the seas... Go to Russia... Prince, or soon-to-be king... Mates."
'What? This makes no sense.'
'I know, but who is the princess of the seas? And why does this involve me? What is going on?'
After my wolf and I had that short conversation, I heard the women starting to talk again. It was still hard to hear them now as it was before.
"Why can't I go straight home?... Parents would let you... Touche... The tunnels..."
I started writing this down as soon as I heard tunnels. I knew it would be directions.
"50 yards... Go through the black tunnel... After 20 more yards... Go through the latch above those tunnels... Then make a right... Five more yards... Make a left... Then... Make another right... Home free..."
Before the image dispersed, I saw a picture of the older looking girl. She had the most beautiful black hair and green eyes. She looked like she was handcrafted by a god.
'Could it be? Is it she? Our beautiful mate?' I asked my wolf.
'I do not know Kai. But she is beautiful. I have this feeling, and I've never gotten it before with all of those whores from the pack. If you ever meet her, keep her. Or I will purposely make your life miserable. And keep in mind, I'm here, forever.′
I cut off the link between my wolf and me, and by the time the beautiful woman's image disappeared, Miss Olivia was back to her normal self, but she was always very weak after these moments and needed time to rest.
"Miss Olivia, who was that? She was beautiful."
"Mordikai, my gut is telling me that, that was the princess of the seas. I've heard rumors that her name was Amorelli. And when the princess of the seas was taken years ago, I looked through this same glass ball, and heard and saw the conversation the king and queen of the seas were talking about their little Amorelli."
My wolf purred with the sound of that name. I had started to grow goosebumps. That name was practically fit for my queen. My beautiful princess. My mate.
"Tell me, Miss Olivia, If you have the strength that is. When they were talking about the prophecy, that one woman mentioned me and the princess of the seas, and then mates. Does that mean that the princess of the seas, or Amorelli I should say, is my mate?"
"Well, if that one prophecy comes true then, yes. She will be your mate. Chosen for you long before your time."
"So, my mate, is, in a sense- a fish..."
"Precisely," Miss Olivia laughed and then coughed. She regained herself and sighed.
"Alright, Kai. I'm very weak now, will you please help me to my bed?" I get up and picked her up and walked over to her bed, right across the room. I place her on the bed and she went underneath the covers.
"Thank you for this information, Miss Olivia. Should I tell my parents?"
"Not yet. I will keep an eye on those girls. They seemed to be in trouble of some sort. Or stuck in a place. I will try and track her tomorrow. Hopefully, I can find out what time they all meet and look over them each time they do. They looked like they were planning something. But anyway, do not tell them just yet. We want more information before we get their hopes up just yet."
"Alright. That you Miss Olivia. Now, get some rest."
"Goodnight Mordikai."
"Goodnight Miss Olivia." With that, I walked out of her room and walked into mine on the other side of the castle.
'So, our mate is a fish. Huh, please. What good is a fish going to do me? Where did I go wrong?'
'How dare you talk poorly about our mate! She was beautiful and you don't even know what powers she has.'
'Yeah, probably none.'
'Mordikai! You are disrespecting our mate and I will not tolerate it! When we meet her you will love her almost instantly. And when that does happen, and you refuse to let her out of your sights, I'll be the one to tell you I told you so.'
'Yeah right. Uh-huh. Sure. Until then, I'm going to enjoy my current girlfriend, Alana.'
'Oh please, our mate is more beautiful than her.'
'Yes, but is our mate here? No. So if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go visit her.'
'I hate being your wolf.'
'And I hate being your human.'
We cut off our ties and then it did get me thinking.
What if we do meet soon? What if she doesn't want me? What if she finds out what kind of guy I am?
I shook my head and instead of going to Alana's room, I went to mine, as I planned to do beforehand. I laid in bed and every time I closed my eyes, she was there. Amorelli was there.
