Stryard nodded. “A little birdie told me you’re the famous Vessuillus dog that’s been murdering my family.” Victor observed in a low deep rumble. Stryard ignored him and said one word: “Truth.”
“Reflection” said the doll. “Now”, chimed in Victor “answer truthful.”
Stryard smirked. “Okay you are weak. HEAVY.” And with that one word everyone fell to their knees, breathing heavily from the pressure except Stryard. “Stryard. SR-ah-yah-ard it hurts” Alex huff barely conscience from the weight of the air around them.
He didn’t know why he had the need to prove he was stronger… more powerful, but something about them angered him. He couldn’t figure out why. Constantly thinking heavy, more pressure, adding on that normal humans should not have been able to cope with; screaming and crying for him to stop, but they weren’t- “Stryard! Damn it! Stop!” Alex demanded with the small bit of composure he could muster. Stryard not seeing his brothers’ pain, only feeling the release of power like six month clean addict with a taste of what made everything right. A wicked laughter filled the room. “Oh! But brother, they are disrespecting us in our own home. Shouldn’t they be punished? They did wrong they should feel pain, right?” He stood there watching their guest, Victoriaon and his sidekick struggle to move in the hold he had over the. They were bugs caught in his house. He could rip their legs off one-by-one or better make them do it.
“Our house? I decided the disrespect in my house.” Alex met Stryard’s eyes as a challenge, struggling to stand until he looked down at him. “stop. Now or I will force you.”
“tsk ~ Release” Stryard commanded and they all fell like dominos including Alex. He bent down to help Alex to his feet. He put his face in Alex’s neck. “I did what you asked. Let me stay.”

“Burn” What felt like flames engulfed Stryards body. “Please” he begged sliding to his knees. Victor watch the new interaction intrigued. “Like Glass in Your Veins.” Alex added to Stryards pain, watching writhe in pain time ten what he felt moments ago. Ah he loved looking at him now. Alex could be confident that Stryard belonged to him. The sight intoxicated him.
“Seth. Will you join me in the kitchen when you are done here?” They all turned to see Gabriella in a elegant lace white dress. Alex wondered how much she saw or could interpret. “RELEASE and RETURN,” he whispered. Seth stood up. “yes, Lady Gabriella a few minutes.”
“Of course,” She turned on her toe and clicked her heels away.

Unstable and weakened, will he be more hindrance than help? Can he become the warrior he once was?A Monk and a Monkey journey across a world...... where the remnants of technology are seen as magic, while pockets of humanity strive to drag themselves out of ignorance.... where the descendants of animal-human hybrids, once created as instruments of war, now seek to dominate the world as demons.... where beings who call themselves Immortals and Gods preoccupy themselves with selfish pastimes, ignoring everything else. Among other things, a story about growth, grit, and being better than the person you were yesterday. Here's my rambling on why I'm writing Journey West 5000. Journey West 5000 is my crazy ambitious writing project to adapt a classic epic called "Journey to the West" for a global, modern audience. It's a sci-fi story disguised as fantasy, and has some road trip + monster of the week elements (as does the original Journey to the West). No system, definitely no harem, gradual power progression. Hmm, what else can I put here so potential readers know what to expect? My writing style for now is mostly "show don't tell", because I believe that readers don't need to have everything pointed out to them, and that they should be allowed to make up their own minds about characters based on the actions of those characters. I'm also trying to be less long-winded (a weakness pointed out by some friends) in order to write according to something Neil Gaiman said, which is to write as though I'm the one who has to pay for every word, not the reader. This will bring down my chapter word counts, and might drive away potential readers, but I believe there's value in learning to compress and be concise. All chapters posted here will have been edited. Constructive criticism, comments, and feedback would be very much welcome and appreciated. Please, please help point out any typos or grammatical mistakes, I'm striving to minimize those as much as possible. Above all, I hope you enjoy my story.
