The never ending humanity's thirst for the best gaming experience gave birth to the success of In-Game Reality. The benchmark product of our company, ESM Corporation, which boasted millions of users World Wide. It struck gold, where its gaming predecessors had failed before and that was by hypnosis to its games; a huge step in making the gamers fantasies into a reality.
ESM Corporation's ultimate business creed is to give humanity the best gaming experience. Whatever the cost may be.
And to weed out the disruptions out of its way. Like now. Business as usual. Dr. Leiv 's fleeting thought while the Holographic Gaming Contact lenses or HGC Lenses' flashed the loading screen containing the ESM's top management's credo. Reminding him of work, nothing but work.
It would have disappoint him if today's wasn't a good day.
They have a new Alpha Tester which, in some magical way, was brought to him at their very own doors. 'Who was he to not open the gift that had been given to him?' His very own words on his trusted subordinate who had reported it to him.
He always worked really hard and wanted to eat his cake too. And so, he shall.
Especially a strong challenger gaming company came into play recently. Their company must make a swift set of actions to continually stand on their position being top gaming company. He observed that the market challenger had a good marketing ploys that their corporation must trump upon. The game research that they have been doing for years had been instructed to speed up by the upper management for next years' gaming convention.
"The rewiring has been successful, Doctor." A female voice informed him.
He can smell the familiar powdery rose scent of Marissa meaning she was near him.
"What character was he loaded into?" He remained still on his chair, eyes forward; not even giving her a glance. He can imagine the prim and proper secretary gazing at him while clutching a holographic pen and writing on thin air.

"Jack-the-Ripper, Doctor." She answered in her usual calm voice.
"Excellent choice. Please tell that to the CHD Team." He said pertaining to the Character Design (CHD) Team. He smiled while navigating through their shared business cloud through his HGC lenses.
"Will do...Doctor." She said his title in a honeyed melody. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"
He recognized the tumultuous accent. In fact, heard it dozens of times from different women; from the board of directors, to the receptionist, and the list went on
He knew his effect to women. Knew it so much that he didn't hesitate to capitalized on it to break through the cutthroat business world numerous times. At the age of 40, the height of his virility still gets him to places. He was called fuckdaddy behind his back by his colleagues. Some of his colleagues knew his strategy, but chose to enjoyed the show at the front seat.
If he had a choice, he'd rather called the women connoisseur of business world. And in the near future, the face of the future technology. One step at a time. But first, he need to make sure that the last Game is polished before the launch.
"None, Melissa. You may go home now. It's getting quite late." His smile remained charming as always; he never fancied the woman if only her body had been six feet under. Cold under his hands and gives off with contrast the coolness while their souls can do nothing to stop him. Then, he would have appreciated her gesture.
He was getting excited. His breath got heavier with his thoughts. He tried to suppress his body's budding excitement.
"Okay Doctor. Goodbye." Her honeyed voice didn't change.
He only nodded to her. Not wanting to show any sign of his growing desires.
He gazed to the secretary's back. It doesn't mean he doesn't anticipate that time. He couldn't hardly wait. Her efficiency on her work was the only stopping him from disposing of her.
"Now, let the games begin." He said as the loading screen completed.

As revenge against a common enemy boils in his blood, Aralt struggles to do his oath-sworn duty and secure sanctuary for the heir-apparent to a mystical dynasty. But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
