Sahara followed Nadia as Nadia propelled a jet of water in front of her to knock anyone that might be ambushing them. So far, none of the other teams were seen. Sahara spotted a tree with a rope ladder hanging off of it. She grasped onto the bar and hoisted herself up to the tree, where a base was already made. After the last person had climbed up, Phila made her hand into a knife and sliced the ladder off the edge so no one else could get up.
“Wow Phila, I didn’t know you could do that!” said Ella, astonished.
“Neither did I,” said Phila, looking at her hands. Normally, she only changed her appearance. But she had never really tried other shapes before.
“Okay anyways, there are three windows in the base. Dian and I will take two of them so we can shoot people. One of you can look out the third window and warn us if anyone is trying to attack from the rear,” said Nadia. Ella nodded as the went over to the third window.
“We have some takers!” yelled Dian as she blasted electricity out of the window. Ella rushed over to look.
“It’s a diva!” she exclaimed.
“New plan. Ella, fly down there and retrieve the body. Phila, how good are your mimicry skills?” Dian asked Phila.
“They’re ok, if you want me to change into her, I can,” said Phila acquiring a black braid and pale skin. Ella returned with the body.
“It’s Zura,” said Ella placing unconscious Zura on the floor of the base.
“Okay Phila, go down now!” said Nadia as she pushed Phila out of the treehouse. Phila hit the ground with a thud. She looked around and saw Frida burst out of the trees.

“Zura! There you are! I heard a bolt of lightning and I thought you got ‘killed’,” said Frida. “Don’t just stand there, let’s take the base.” Phila hesitantly followed as they circled the base.
Meanwhile in the tree, the four others were plotting.
“I’m not sure from this high which one Phila is,” said Sahara. “What if we kill her?”
“Don’t worry, she won’t actually die,” said Dian.
“No that’s not what I meant,” started Sahara. “Nevermind.” Nadia blasted water out of the tree house.
“Quick Dian, shock the water,” yelled out Sahara. Dian zapped the water that was spilling out of Nadia’s hands. The back charge hit Nadia and sent her smashing against the back wall.
“She’s out,” said Dian upset. She looked out the window. “Good news and bad news. Good news is that we killed 4 of them. Bad news is that Frida is the only one alive which means we killed Phila.”
“What are you waiting for, electrocute her!” yelled Ella.
“I can’t, I shorted out! It was the water! I need to wait another ten minutes before I get my chargeback,” said Dian. Ella gave up.
“I’m not letting her get away,” she yelled to Dian as she swooped down out of the tree house. She overshadowed Frida, who looked above her and formed an ice sword in her hand.
“Fight me on the ground,” she taunted to Ella, who continued to circle overhead.
“Okay, so you want to die painfully,” said Frida as she shot an icicle right into Ella’s heart. Ella crashed onto the ground, blood spilling everywhere.
“See you in half an hour,” said Frida as she clamped her foot down on Ella’s head.
“How many competitors are left?” Sahara asked Dian who was sitting in the corner of the treehouse rocking back and forth. Dian looked out the window and peered at the blackboard.

“7,” said Dian. “So you, me, Frida, and four others.” Sahara looked out the window.
“Three others,” said Sahara smugly. “What do we even get if we win?”
“If our team wins we get to be first in the lunch line,” said Dian. “And trust me, you want to be first.” Suddenly the treehouse was struck by a fiery comet. The whole tree was ablaze.
“Jump!” yelled Sahara as she pulled Dian out the window of the treehouse. The fiery tree came crashing down behind them. With all her might, Sahara shot a force field so powerful it knocked the fire guy into the arena wall and squashed him.
“You, me, and Frida,” said Sahara looking up at the board. “The others must have taken care of each other.” Sahara waited for a response from Dian before turning around to see an icicle sticking out of her chest. Sahara vanished just in time as Frida was aiming her icicle.
“Silly girl,” said Frida. “You don’t know your weaknesses yet.” Frida took a deep breath and blew out a bunch of icy wind. Sahara watched in horror as her figure was faintly outlined by frost.
“Oh no,” were Sahara’s last words before an icicle pierced her heart.

Quick disclaimer in response to the review I got, this is my first story and somewhat of an experiment for me, hopefully my writing will get better the more I practice.
