Iris took her empty plate in her hands and placed it in the dishwasher, she then took the stairs and headed to her room. Reaching this one, she scrutinized it, from her bed to her desk and then around her, before heading to her bedside table, she picked up her phone and of course the most important for her, her headphones.

She should have done a 30 minutes yoga session as her doctor recommended 'well, I'm already too late to add a 30-minute nap session' she thought as she went down the stairs.

"It's ok, I'm ready."

"And where's your bag?" said Katherine.

".... "

"I thought something was missing."

She then went back to get her bag and quickly came down 'Everything will be alright ' she repeated to herself.

Iris opened the car door and sat in the front seat, Katherine her mother, always double checked the house before leaving it, even if for most people, trying to break into a psychic's house would be considered suicide. She finally came out of the house after her inspection and joined iris in the car.

"Is it all ok, miss paranoia?"

"If you really want to know, Yes it is" said Katherine With a sarcastic undertone.

"I have double-checked every door and window, and no I am not paranoid just cautious."

"I know, but only a person who is not sane would try to rob us"

"You know very well that we always have to be careful,especially during the evenings you are alone at home"

"Ok ok, are we going leave or are we not? we are really going to be late if don't move asap"

Katherine looked at her daughter with tenderness a few seconds, smiled and then started the car.

Iris' high school Raymond Rouk was 30 minutes away and as usual she lookwd by the window all the way. This morning seemed to be pretty calm. She could still remember the accident that happened two days ago putting them an hour late, a teenager lost control of his powers and blocked the road for more than 45 minutes, simply because he wanted to use his powers to remove other vehicles from his path 'stupid' she thought. Katherine her mother was also psychic and yet she rarely used her powers even if she was middle tier.

Super humans are all categorized since birth based on the intensity of their powers. The three categories are bottom, middle and top tier. Each category is divided into several classes. Class E and F for bottoms tier, D class, C and B for middle tier, and class A and S for top tier, E being of course the least powerful and S the most powerful.

Today there is a wide variety of superpowers among the 'evolved' (popular name of super humans), such as super force more commonly called tank, speed, or invisibility, which are parts of the most common super powers. Others a bit rarer such as controllers (those who can control an element or material), healers, or even magicians exist too. But among them the rarest powers are psychic and summoner, which are on top of the chain of rarity.

Katherine being a Class B psychic, is one of the evolved at very rare power and strong intensity, cause 50% of super humans are Class E or F, 25% Class D, and C, 18% Class B and only 355 S-Class people exist in the world.

As most children have 80% chances of inheriting one of their parents powers it would have been easy to assume that iris had inherited her mother's psychic powers or that she was more like her father, controller middle tier, and that she had the power to control water. But instead of having inherited one of the powers of her parents Iris was part of the SS class those that are called defective, not developing any power.
