《SCION OF EVIL》CHAPTER 16

In the dense jungle of Arena no. 13, Rudra and Rohit were running with full speed jumping on the branches of trees like Ninjas. Some time they would move from one tree to another with vines hanging from the trees like Tarzan. Maya on the other hand was simply vanishing and appearing from one place to another. She was teleporting from one spot to another. Suddenly Rudra came to a halt on the branch of a tree. He was looking straight downward. Rohit seeing this also came to a stop on the branch. Maya soon after teleported beside Rudra.
Rohit: (With a sly smile) Well… well look who followed us here. Our little miss Maya.
Maya: (Frowning) I can follow Rudra wherever I want. I have the authority to do so. Who do you think you are to question me?
Rohit: No one actually, to question you. But if you are here because you are worried about him, then you can leave. I alone, is more than enough to deal with any danger that might come. So, you can… blink away.
Maya: You damn weakling, think you can handle any danger. Hilarious. Run away before I beat you.
Rohit: Well I am strong enough or not is evident from the fact that Rudra told me to follow him and not you.
Maya realised this thing. “Rudra did call him. But why not me? Is he more powerful than me?”, Maya thought. When she saw Rohit smirking, she quickly realises what was going on. She became furious.
Maya: You…
Before she could complete her sentence.
Rudra: (With a very irritated and furious voice) Just shut up you both. Both of you will not utter a single word until I tell you to. Is that clear?... I will repeat again. Is that clear?
Both Maya and Rohit said simultaneously, “Yes”.
Both of them, when they looked forward were Startled by what they saw. The thing in front of them was an ancient ruin, but it didn’t look like a ruin. They were so busy bickering with each other that they forgot to look at what Rudra was looking into.
Rohit: Did they created such a magnificent Ruin just for the competition. Well they are pretty dope if they did that. But which ruins does these replicates? Usually the arena with ruins are always based on some real ones.
Rudra: These doesn’t replicate any real ruins in the outside world.
Rohit: What do you mean?
Maya: These aren’t replica. These are real ruins.
Rohit: Real ruins?
Rudra: Maya are you thinking the same thing that I am thinking.
Maya: (Nodded) This seems to be the “Elora’s Madhayn Temple” or rather to be precise a part of it.

Rudra: Well you are half right there.
Rohit: Umm guys… Mind filling me in, about what is going on here.
Maya: Fool… Hmm
Rudra: It is alright miss Maya. Rohit have you noticed the plants in this place. Just take a look and you will understand.
Rohit looked around for a bit. He took a large leaf from the ground and looked at it. Holy mother of… Thi… This is a plant before the Armageddon. This… No, wait… all these plants here belong to the period before the Armageddon. This forest alone would cost quadrillions of gold coins. How is this possible?
Rudra: No, you are not quite right. These plants are even more precious than that. These are plants of a time period of at least 6000 years before the Armageddon. These plants are the one that went extinct or evolved into different plants before the Armageddon. These are the plants described in the ancient Sanskrit text of “Shusruta Sanhita”. In It the great sage Shusruta wrote about various medical and poisonous plants of that time that he used for treating his patients. A lot of these plants coincides with a lot of plants he described. These are plants from the Vedic Period. These plants are much more ancient.
Maya: But the main question is what are they doing here?
Rudra: Those ruins are our answers. You see after the Armageddon; a lot of lost myths and legends came into existence due to the merging of 10 parallel earths. A lot of lost ruins also came up the surface of earth as earth’s size expanded because of the merging of ten worlds.
Rohit: And I suppose this is one of those ruins.
Maya: Yes, this is one of those lost ruins, but this shouldn’t be here. As far as I know this was destroyed by moon… You know what, nothing, I don’t know.
Rudra: (With a slight smile) Miss Maya you should not cut off your sentences like that. This ancient temple complex was destroyed by the moon sect when it first appeared, near the “current Elora Caves”. It was simply erased out of existence by those lunatics.
Maya: How…
Rudra: You do not need to concern yourself with how? The important question that has been raised now is, what is this temple doing here?
Rohit: Wait, moon sect, you mean that “moon sect”. The ones who once tried to take over the world by joining forces with the “descendants”.
Rudra: Yes
Maya: But how do you know about this. Even in the military this event is only known to few. Did Mr. Rakesh…
Rudra: (Looked at Maya with a slight smile) I can ask you the same miss Maya just how do you know about this, did my grand… Forget it we will talk about it later.

Rohit: But how did this place ended up becoming an arena and what the hell are we going to do with it?
Rudra: The Roar came from within the ruins.
Just as Rudra finished his sentence another one of that loud and terrifying roar sounded from within the ruins. Before they could even think what was going on, they felt a presence behind their back. With a unanimous consent all three of them decided against the thought of turning their head. At the same time, all three of them dashed from that spot with all their might. Maya instantly teleported from that place. Just as they landed in another spot, they heard a boom coming from the place they were standing on before. A giant “Jade Boa” was slowly slithering towards them with its tongue hissing in between. The boa would easily be 150mt and could easily swallow a truck. It had horns like protrusion on its eyebrows. Its entire body looked as if its scales were made of jade. It had large red reptilian eyes. And its two fangs were protruding out of its mouth.
Just as Rudra and Rohit tried to make some distance between them. The trees around them bent down and their vines started restraining them from going. The roots of the trees started protruding out of the ground and attacking Maya.
Maya: This Monster has control of nature. It is a guardian monster. How can such a powerful monster be in an arena. It’s at least lord rank. No, it is not lord rank its … it’s actually a supreme rank monster. How is this possible this should not be here?
Rohit: Quit babbling nonsense we know that already let us kill this damn thing first. “Karma” come out.
Just as Rohit said these words a pair of 80 mt. long wings unfolded with a sonic boom. A pitch-black bat like creature appeared. It had a humanoid body structure with bat like wings adjoined to its arm and entire side of the body. Its arm were unnaturally long just as long as its wings, so that it could be attached to the wings all throughout. The creature had long goblin like ear and two holes as nose. Its mouth had two canine protruding out. Its Eyes were deep red. Its hands and legs had talons of steel coming out of its nails. This creature also had a violet mane around its head. This creature is the Indian version of a vampire found in the myths of a Province known Assam situated in the north-eastern part of India. This Monster is a legend known as “Karma”, coming down to earth to give justice to the downtrodden and was worshipped before the Armageddon. Also, this monster was supreme level. Maya was bewildered to see such a monster in possession of someone like Rohit. She thought, “Where did this good for nothing got such a monster, wait is the reason why Rudra called him was because he knew about this.”
Rohit: Karma, sonic boom, directly at that Boa.
Karma flew high in the sky and while diving down it directly opened its mouth, aimed at the Boa, and released a series of sonic waves that would have led ruins to countless buildings. The monster was just so powerful. The Boa was hit in point blank range and it resulted in it being disoriented for a while. Before Karma could do a follow up attack, The Boa with a lightning speed almost raised 1/3rd of its body into the sky and bit Karma’s leg and pulled him down with a ferocity never before seen. Just as hulk smashed Loki, it also smashed Karma from one spot to another but never let it go.
Rohit: Karma use Talons at this thing eyes.
Karma then with great difficulty in between its thrashing bent down from its waist and like a wild cat penetrated the Boa’s eyes with its talons. Green blood oozed out of The Boa eyes. Then Karma proceeded to gouged out its eyes. He pulled the Giant Boa’s eyes with its nerves hanging from its eyeball. If the Boa looked Ferocious before after both its eyes were gouged out it looked even more disturbingly pitiful. In great pain the Boa released the Bat. Taking its chance with a sonic boom the bat flew high into the sky. The sonic boom that its flight resulted disoriented the Boa again. The Boa, being without sight was wriggling and thrashing the trees here and there with its gigantic body. Its tail was thrashing here and there. Mad with rage and in great pain, it uprooted and threw the trees here and there, in hope that it would hit its assailant.
Maya: You fool snakes don’t have ears they detect everything using vibration of the soil. Your sonic boom would only make it a little disoriented and nothing more.
Rohit: It would have been a lot easier if you informed me this earlier. Se my Karma’s legs are bleeding.
Maya: that is because you are a useless Yodha. Let me show you how it’s done…

Truck-kun Gets Sacrificed
Driscoll is my own version of a world with a game-like "system" of endless possibilities. MC has his own status, classes, skills, magic, and a living greatswordstaff in a world of monsters, demi-humans of all kinds, and even the supernatural. Sound good? Well, at first for Tru, it was a dream come true(I'm sorry). At least until reality hits him again and again. His quest from God is vague and must be discovered by him along the way. Hopefully, he can figure that out someday but for now, this new world's threats and his potential for power are motivation aplenty. With His new partner by his side, he's ready to embark on his mission of infinite sacrifice, however many lives it takes. The setting is pretty standard for fantasy, with my beginner attempts at writing. Litrpg elements are definitely involved here but It'll calm down as the story progresses and the world's foundation is laid. Judeo/Christian themes and principles take a major role and will be a backbone for much of the story. The fights will paint a picture in the mind rather than just be a bunch of number crunching. While he is meant to be a sacrifice to save all of Driscoll, he needs to gain enough power and influence to be a worthwhile sacrifice, or so he thinks. And so carnage will ensue as he avoids death as best he can while at the same time sacking himself for others. Truck Coon is your average determined, jiu-jitsu practitioner, tax associate that just started his new career. He dies to save kids from a semi-truck(Truck Coon got truck-kun'd, making him Truck-kun) and is transported to another world rather conventionally by God. Upon his arrival, he is quickly confronted with his first conflicts in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Chapters are currently between 2300 and 4000 words and I try to post weekly, but also deal with severe limitations that cause late posts often. I have zero actual experience with writing stories and only recently started reading web novels in 2020. If you end up hating it, let me know your thoughts in a detailed comment or review, especially if you love it though :D I want to get better and welcome the feedback, so expect changes to be made with any flaws that y'all point out which I don't already have plans to address in future chapters. That being said, keep it constructive in nature, please. I have no Idea how the formatting and such will go, so if you like or dislike some techniques I try, give me that well-appreciated feedback! Thank you for reading.
