《[Kengkla x Techno] Unfinished Business (Love by Chance Fanfic)》Chapter 11 - Part 1

Kengkla can't say he didn't expect Techno to avoid him after the beach trip. In fact, he was certain of it the minute Techno avoided sitting with him on the way home, instead taking a seat next to Champ and Can.
It was a miserable bus ride, watching Techno ignore him, and sitting next to a whiny Technic didn't help. Techni kept complaining the trip wasn't worth the hotel room Kengkla promised and how he was never doing a favor for Kengkla again. But Technic said that every time.
Once they all departed the bus after a long three-hour trip, Techno was quick to grab Technic and hurry home, sparing Kengkla a wave and nothing more. Champ and Type even commented on how strange it was then left him alone to call for a cab.
It didn't sit well with Kengkla. His chest tightened at the thought of Techno running away from him, and his first instinct was to contact Techno as soon as he could. Kengkla sent the other a text over Line immediately, thanking Techno for inviting him and that Kengkla missed him already. As expected, there was no reply from Techno. But from the "read" status appeared under his message, Kengkla knew the other saw it.
When he eventually arrived home, Kengkla's house was silent with no sign of his mother nor father. But he didn't really tell them he was leaving for the trip because he doubted they would care. Fortunately, his family help was waiting for him with a meal for the evening and lunches prepared for the week ahead.
Kengkla managed to hold himself back from texting Techno until after dinner. He was putting away his clothes and preparing for school the next day when he decides it's been long enough. Sitting down on his bed, Kengkla pulls out his phone and glances at the time.
Techno read the message hours ago but still never replied. Kengkla can feel his jaw set, bracing hard in frustration while he opens up the tracking app. He installed it on the others phone before Techno woke up.
The location marks him at home, which means he really is just ignoring Kengkla. But it's not surprising considering what happened on the trip. He knew it was a first for Techno. Or rather, the first he would remember. It was no doubt scary and maybe a little too much, but Kengkla couldn't hold himself back any longer.
Kengkla can't help the smile that pulls at his mouth and begins typing up a message.
To Techno:
I miss u, P'No. TT__TT I hope u made it home safe. Pls text me to tell me ur ok. Im sorry if I upset you!!
[crying wolf emoji]
After he hits send, Kengkla lies back on the bed and holds his phone above him with both hands. His eyes focus on Techno's profile photo on Line and chuckles silently. It's a group photo of his team after a win, which doesn't show Techno very well.
Kengkla closes the app then clicks his photo gallery, opening up the one titled "My Wife." It's a collection of Techno's photos including some he took and others Technic sent him. The latest is a photo of Techno at the beach house sleeping on the bed, drooling on his pillow and hair shining from the sun peeking through the windows.
"P'No should use this photo," He says to himself with a grin then turns on his side to rests an arm under his head, holding the phone with the other hand. "But then everyone would know this side of P'No."

Jealousy and anger prickles in equal measures across his skin, and he swipes past the photo to look at the others, trying to calm himself. Type doesn't have Techno under him withering in pleasure; Can doesn't know what color Technos cheeks turn when he's aroused or embarrassed. But Kengkla does, and it's this resonance of honesty that undoes the knot of jealous panic in his chest and lets him let his breath out a relieved sigh.
He returns to swiping through photos of Techno and only stops when he finds the one of himself with Techno on the beach, looking at the camera. Techno's making a confused face, caught by surprise, but it only makes him look cuter. Kengkla remembers Techno ordering him to delete it, but he never did.
Kengkla changes it to the background on his phone, replacing a beach photo he was using since he began dating Techno. Before that night, it was a photo of Techno sleeping, taken by his brother. Kengkla's phone is typically locked unless he's texting or playing games because his favorite photo of Techno to look at is from their first night together, which he keeps hidden in the back of his gallery.
That way no one will ever see it besides himself.
...
He had hoped Techno would message him back by the next morning. But it was nothing but radio silence into the next day, even after sending Techno countless texts about how much Kengkla missed the other and wished he would answer. But Techno never replied once. When he tracked Techno on the GPS app, it always said he was within five miles of the campus, which wasn't very helpful. He really needed to upgrade to a better system, but he would have to get Techno's phone from him again.
The thought even came to Kengkla that maybe Techno wasn't feeling well. Surely he wouldn't ignore Kengkla after everything that happened last weekend. Even if it was too much, maybe too soon, Techno was too nice to ignore him, especially after Kengkla's admission about his family. It had to tug on Techno's heartstrings.
But when Kengkla didn't get a reply by Wedneday and Technic confirmed his brother wasn't sick, he finally declared that it was time to go investigate and convinced Technic to allow him to come cover after school. Though he was almost relieved when Techno wasn't home. His plan was to cry to Techno and put on his usual pathetic act but doing it in front of Technic would be an annoyance.
He hoped to catch Techno when he came home at night, but Techno never showed. Kengkla tried to stay the night, but Technic forced him home.
This repeated the next day with still no word from Techno.
Kengkla's strategy changed, and instead of simply messaging him, he started calling Techno over and over, almost every four hours. He knew it was dramatic, but there was hope that Techno would feel guilty and eventually pick up. It usually worked. But Techno never did, ignoring his texts and calls, even when Kengkla cried on a voicemail. The tracking system was no help still. He couldn't just drive around campus now that Techno knew his car, even if there was a possibility Techno wouldn't remember.
Normally, if he didn't see Techno for a while, Kengkla would act innocent and ask Technic's parents about Techno. But they extended their business trip for two weeks, which should be benefiting Kengkla, but it only made the situation worse.
Technic was clueless and had no idea where his brother was either. He even tried texting Techno after Kengkla bribed him with free restaurant vouchers, but Techno just ignored him too. By the time it was Thursday, Kengkla had enough.

Despite Technic's whining that Techno wouldn't be coming home, Kengkla invites himself over on Thursday. It was almost dinner time, and after texting Techno every few hours and watching tv on the couch, his patience runs thin.
"Call him," Kengkla orders.
His friend groans in annoyance. "Ai' Kla," Technic scolds from where he sits next to Kengkla and tosses the remote on the coffee table. "Isn't it almost finals for them? I'm sure my Ai' idiot brother is just busy studying... 'cause there's no way he'll pass without it."
Kengkla sighs, expecting this hesitation from Technic. "Just call him," He retorts. "Then I'll stop asking and buy you lunch tomorrow."
Technic perks up and smiles at Kengkla. "Buy lunch for me and my girlfriend tomorrow, and you got a deal," He says, taking out his phone and holding out his hand for Kengkla.
"Which girlfriend this week?" Kengkla teases but shakes Technic's hand anyway.
"Whichever one I want," Technic answers honestly while Kengkla watches him scroll through a list of names then hitting call on Techno's. He doesn't even have to ask Technic to put it on speaker phone. He just does, and it begins ringing.
It feels likes forever, with the thud of Kengkla's heart beating in his chest until there's the sound of someone picking up.
"Hello?" Techno's unmistakable voice answers on the other line.
Kengkla meets Technic's gaze, silently urging him to reply with a nod. "P'No, it's me. Your brother, remember?" Technic says with a sigh.
He can almost picture Techno rolling his eyes when he says, "Duh, I have caller ID. What do you want now, Ai' Nic?"
There's not enough background noise for Kengkla to guess Techno's location, so he waves his hand to urge Technic to reply. He nods at Kengkla and sits back, holding his phone between them. "Just curious where you are, P'No. You've been out every night since we got back," Technic explains.
Techno groans in annoyance. "Why do you care? What are you? My damn husband?" He snaps.
A burst of warmth explodes in Kengkla's chest at the slip of Techno's words, and his eyes widen in shock, staring at the phone then up at Technic. "Husband?" Technic laughs and shakes his head in disbelief.
"Wife!" Techno blurts loudly, voice catching high on the word. But Kengkla is already on cloud nine and struggling to hold himself back from snatching the phone from Technic. He settles for gripping the couch tightly, grinning like a hungry wolf, and waits for Technic to continue.
"it's okay, P'No. If you were gay and dating a guy, you know I wouldn't care," Technic says unexpectedly, and Kengkla glares at Technic. He doesn't know where the other is going with this because they didn't talk about it beforehand.
"Uh... " Techno croaks, and Kengkla bites at his lip nervously, reconsidering his trust in Technic who seems unphased and amused by the situation. Will Techno deny it? Does Kengkla really want to hear his answer?
"Stop messing with me, Ai Nic. If you really want to know, I've been staying with Ai Type I'm the older brother here. Now what the hell did you call for? , " Techno answers in an annoyed tone. "I spent last weekend with you. Isn't that enough?
He snatches the phone from Technic's loose hold while his heart sinks, mind running through all the possibilities of what Techno and Type are doing. His fingers find the mute button quickly, and it's bitterness as much as jealousy that goes sour on his tongue when he says, "Ask what they were doing," in a hiss.
Technic's brow furrows when he swipes the phone back from Kengkla. "Fine," He sighs before hitting the mute button so Techno could hear again. "Oh, okay, P'No. But why? Finals isn't for a few weeks. Why not come home? What are you doing with P'Type? Getting drunk together every night again?"
Techno's laugh is usually bright and cheerful, music to Kengkla's ears, but the one that he let's out is mocking and sarcastic. "No," He says in a rushed tone. "Remember when Ai' Type fell? Well, he's been hurt, so I've been helping him around campus and giving him damn rides. And since he's hurt, I have to run all the practices alone while he bitches from the sidelines."
Kengkla can feel his fingers draw back into fists, can feel anger curling up his spine. Type is always getting in this way. This time was no different. Kengkla meets Technic's confused eyes with a glare, and Technic shrugs. He obviously doesn't know what to say to soothe his friend, and Techno doesn't wait for a reply.
"Is that all, Ai' Nic? I have to get to practice," Techno says with a slight edge to his tone, but there's a laugh in there as well. " We have a game tomorrow, and I have to beat the shit out of these juniors if we want to win."
Kengkla hears the word "game" and immediately pulls out his own phone, typing out a quick message in the notepad. "Ask him when is the game," he writes then holds it out for Tehnic to read. It only takes a few seconds, and Technic nods, meeting Kengkla's gaze. "Okay, okay, P'No. I'll let you go," Technic says quickly. "But when is the game?
Techno huffs exasperation. "Why do you care?" He snaps.
Technic glares at Kengkla, but Kengkla just holds his gaze, miming eating food with his hands to get Techno to continue. If he wanted free lunch, then he had to earn it.
"Just tell me," Technic whines to Techno, rolling his eyes at Kengkla.
An annoyed groan echos through the phone, and Kengkla doesn't try to hold back the smile at his lips at Techno's overreaction. "Ai' Nic, you are such a pest," Techno mutters then takes a breath and an exhales hard. "It's at 7 o'clock tomorrow," He pauses for a moment, and Technic opens his mouth to respond when Techno resumes. "Okay? Stop being so nosey, Ai' Nic. I gotta' go. Bye." Techno rushes through the phone call as if he's in a hurry and hangs up, leaving only the dial tone to ring out.
"Happy now?" Technic drawls from the proprietary slouch he's adopted on the couch, putting his phone back in his pocket.
"You've earned a free lunch," Kengkla answers with a shrug, looking away from Technic toward the front door. He's never happy if he's not with Techno, but at least, he knows where to find him exactly, no tracking app needed.
A/N: Thank you all for your patience during my minor hiatus. The next update may be delayed as well.
I hate to burden anyone with details, but I have a chronic illness that is, unfortunately, flaring up. It is making my life very difficult. <3 I wouldn't wish it on my enemies.
I also took a vacation and was able to see BTS again even while I was in pain. :( Hope you are all doing well!

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!

Lament of The Demiurge
The Great Law of Blood is simple: when you kill someone, you take their EXP. When you get enough EXP, you level up. When you level up, you become better at killing people. The cycle has continued since before the time of the gods and has been going on thousands of years after they died. It's a good thing, of course. It rewards punishing the evil creatures of the world: goblins, kobolds and other sorts of terrible monsters. It will surely go on for eternity. People thought the gods would live for eternity too, but they were slain. This world has never, and will never, stand still.
