"When can we go back to the house?" Eri smiles as she gets out of the car.
"Soon, hopefully," you smile. She giggles and runs into the dorms.
"Hi, auntie Arlis! Are we still going flying?!" Eri smiles.
"Hey, kiddo! Welcome home! Of course, just give me a second," Arlis smiles. Shoto and Shinso take Eri inside to greet their classmates. "How was your vacation?" Arlis smiles.
"Great. Was everything okay here?" You smile.
"Yeah! No problems at all," she smiles.
"You're a bad liar, Arlis," Aizawa sighs as he walks up the steps.
She glares at him. "I'm not sorry I knocked your keys off the counter. And I broke six glasses," she smirks.
"God damn it," Aizawa sighs.
"What happened?" You ask.
"It was fine. I just got a little roughed up. Snipe and I handled it, and we got the last bit of information," she shrugs.
"What information?" Aizawa asks.
"We found out where Maltheal is hiding," Arlis smiles.
"Amongst other things," Keigo says, walking outside.
"Like what?" You ask worriedly.
"Eri and Arlis were going to be used in this doomsday plan that the guy has..." Keigo says.
Your eyes widen, and you look at her. "What?"
"The doctor who oversaw my experimentation is Eri's father. He gave her to Kai to keep her safe and protect her... he didn't know what Kai was doing until the raid," Arlis says softly.
"Oh my god..." you mumble.
"Maltheal's real name is Dr. Agura Hisaki," Keigo says. "And we know Arlis' last name."
"Ari," you smile.
"Don't," she snaps.
"But... you've wanted to remember for so long," you say softly.
"I don't want to remember anymore..." she says softly.

"But your last name was important to you," Aizawa says.
She shrugs. "Just... don't tell me. I don't want to know. Pick something else or whatever. I've got to go. I told Eri when you guys got back that I'd take her for a fly, and I need to go get her a jacket," she says before taking off into the sky.
Keigo sighs and looks at the two of you. "We're close to finding this asshole...tomorrow, we're having a meeting about tracking him," he nods.
"Thank you, Keigo," you smile.
"No problem," he nods, and the three of you walk inside.
"She's wanted to know her last name for so long... she couldn't remember it," you whisper.
"Maybe it's too much of a reminder of her past. Maybe she wants to forget it so she can focus on her future," Aizawa says, nodding to Keigo. You smile and he wraps his arm around you.
Eri runs up to you all, a bright smile on her face. "Is auntie Arlis here?"
"She went to go get you a jacket. She'll be right back," Keigo smiles.
"Come here, brat! Your hair will get all messed up if you fly with it down," Bakugou says. Eri runs over and sits down. Bakugou combs her hair and starts to braid it carefully.
You smile, and Aizawa wraps his arm around you tightly. "We are really gonna let her take Eri?" He whispers.
"They'll be fine. The worst thing that could happen is Arlis teaches Eri how to curse," you giggle.
"Or she teaches Eri how to kill someone," Aizawa grumbles.
"I mean, both aren't that bad," you snicker, and he pinches your side.
Arlis walks in and smiles. "Hurry up! The sun is setting!" She smiles. Bakugou finishes, and Eri sprints over. Arlis smiles and puts a jacket around Eri. She zips it up and smiles.

"Here," Keigo says, putting his headphones over Eri's ears. Arlis smiles and picks Eri up.
"Have fun," you smile. You look at Aizawa and kiss his cheek. "Dinner?"
"Mmm, pizza? That should feed everyone," he smiles. "Plus, if we order in my office, I can have you alone for just a little longer," he smiles and kisses your head. You giggle as you walk into his office, relishing in time alone together. You sit down in the chair at his desk, and he sits next to you, both of you scrolling through your phones, laughing at pictures from your weekend away.
Arlis walks outside and smiles. "Hang on tight, okay?" She says.
Eri nods, and Arlis takes off into the sky. Eri shuts her eyes tightly as Arlis flies around. She gets high above the clouds and slows down. Eri opens her eyes and smiles brightly, seeing the white fluffy clouds around them. Arlis sails through the air, and Eri giggles as she looks at the sun painting different colors on the tops of the clouds. She hugs Arlis tightly and smiles.
Keigo flies up next to her and chuckles. "You having fun?" He asks.
"She has less of a death grip on me, so I think so," Arlis smiles.
She flies on her back, and Eri laughs. Keigo sends out four feathers and hooks them onto Eri's back, lifting her off of Arlis. Her eyes widen as she flies around, giggling with glee. Arlis smiles as they soar through the sky, happily chasing each other through the clouds.
"This is amazing!" Eri squeals.
"It really is," Keigo chuckles.
Eri closes her eyes, her face filled with happiness and peace. Arlis looks over at Eri, and her eyes water, seeing her so happy. She glances at Keigo, and her chest flutters. She smiles and flies on her back, looking up at the sky.
"It is pretty amazing..."

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *
