《A New Life to Live (PJO FF)》He Hates Me

(30 years later // 6 earth months)
Hurry! Run! They're gonna catch you!
I know, I know! Wait... one's missing.
Percy looks around while still running. Suddenly, he's pushed back and falls onto his back.
"I win!"
"Oh, that's no fair Luke! You have, like, some weird super speed or something!"
Luke rolls his eyes. "Yes, I know this, now get up so we can finish this mission."
Bianca runs up to them. "Are you guys done playing? We have to get back to the citizens before they get attacked...again."
"Hey, you were playing too!"
Bianca rolls her eyes. "Yeah, I know but now we have to go back."
Ask them for a race! See if you'll win this time!
"You could just ask them yourself, you know that right?"
Bianca and Luke look at Percy then realize he's talking to Eli and continue walking.
I don't feel like it. It's nice to sit back and enjoy the fresh air.
Percy rolls his eyes. "Yeah, until it's your turn to take over when I'm the one that's tired."
Luke cuts in, "If you share the same body isn't it just the body that gets tired therefore either way you'll both be tired?"
"Well, yeah. But we're talking mentally. Not physically."
Luke forms an 'o' shape and continues walking.
"But Eli wants to race back to the city. And no powers Luke."
"Fine!"
"Alright let's do this." Bianca says dashing off. Percy runs after her with Luke by his side. Slowly but surely Percy starts to get ahead of them by about a meter when they reach the city line.
"I totally passed the line before you Luke."
"No, you didn't, Bianca I am pretty sure I passed it before you did."
"Yeah, sure, Luke."
"Oh, my gods just make out already would you? Damn, you're marking my ears bleed." Percy walks faster. "And don't take five years either!" He calls behind his shoulder. Luke and Bianca going red in the face before Luke grabs her hand and they walk behind Percy.
They didn't take your offer to leave.
Yeah because they don't want the citizens to die.
At least they told everybody they're together. They were starting to get on my nerves with that bullshiz.
I know what you mean Eli.
They finally make it to the center of the city and ask around to find out if anything peculiar happened while they were out.
Percy looks back to make sure the couple have their hoods up and continue walking through the city.
Suddenly, a loud screech is heard to their left and Percy, Luke, and Bianca run towards the noise.
You know in the movies, if you were regular people, you'd be running to your death.
Maybe if I was in a movie I wouldn't be so messed up in the head.
Depends on the movie.
I'd hope it was a movie where I was happy. Where I could have my best friend back.
No one's stopping you but yourself.
Yeah, I know. Percy finally makes it to the monster and takes out the sword he was sent to get all those years ago where he got to meet Eli. Cosmos glowed brightly as Percy got into a ready stance.
The monster was a lot different then on earth. This monster, for one, was on a planet called Burala. It was super tall and reminded Percy of Godzilla. It has spikes in its head and trailing down its back. It was a navy blue color, almost black.
Percy swung his sword, hitting the Godzilla imposter in the leg. Luke runs up its tail and stabs its back while Bianca stays a few meters away shooting arrows at its head. Percy slashed and slashed, making sure not to get hit by the monsters claws as it tried to scratch at him.
One of the arrows hit the monster's eye and it quickly clutches it with his hand. It turned quickly almost knocking Percy over with its tail and successfully throwing Luke off its back. Percy quickly takes off a black leather bracelet that turns into a bow after putting away Cosmos.
Percy's eyes turn red signaling it was now Eli's time to fight. He drew back the arrow and quickly let it fly into the monster's other eye. Luke, taking this as his chance, jumps up and stabs it in the chest.
The monster stills and slowly falls to the ground before exploding into bright blue dust.
Bianca looks at the bracelet, which is now on Percy's wrist, to see its a dark red meaning Eli is currently taking hold of Percy's body. All the members in the army didn't want to confuse Percy and Eli up so they made the bow into a bracelet that changes colors depending on who's in control. It helps when they are on missions and the shadow made by their hoods cover their face and don't want to call Eli Percy or vice versa.
"Yo, Eli that was a nice shot! A lot better than Percy, I have to say."
Luke walks up to Bianca and put an arm around her shoulder, making Bianca smile at him. "Everyone is better than Percy at shooting a bow."
Aw that's rude! Eli tell them that's mean!
"Percy says he knows and that he will never get better."
I did not say that!
Well obviously. You're talking in your head.
Well I didn't think you'd just lie to them like that. Eli didn't know how he knew, but he knew that right now Percy was pouting with his arms crossed. Over time they found out more about what happens when the other is not in control and can tell what actions the other is taking. To Eli, that's pretty cool.
"Can we go home now? I miss Zoë and Silena and Beckendorf." Bianca says, pulling Luke closer to Eli.
"I guess Percy can come out again. I want to sleep." Eli closes his eyes and they open up to Percy's black with stars swirling through them. "Alright time to leave. After we say bye to the city people so they don't look for us like that one time on Vernilo. Not fun."
The trio walks back to the city from where they came and are met with people saying 'thank you' and smile at them, knowing that they don't have to be afraid anymore. They finally reach the place where the King of Burala has been staying while the monsters roam free throughout the small planet.
Luke knocks on the door and the three warriors wait for it to open. They don't wait long until the door flies open and the king is standing in the doorway. The trio bow down as a greeting.
"Welcome." The king says with a smile. "Come on in." He steps over the side to allow them to get through the door and leads them to an empty room. "I'm assuming you three are leaving today."
"Yes, we are. It was an honor to meet you and we hope your planet thrives without the fear of monsters." Percy says with a smile.

"We thank you for your help. But I shouldn't hold you up any longer. You must miss your home."
"Yes, we do." Percy smiles then turns and creates a portal that Luke and Bianca go through before Percy steps into it.
I remember the first time I went through a portal. It was terrifying I thought I was going to end up in the middle of the ocean and get eaten by the Kraken.
Do you not trust me that much?
Well you kinda lie to your friends about being happy sometimes so, forgive me.
You can read my thoughts. You'd know if I was gonna drop us in the middle of the ocean.
Doesn't prove anything.
I'm sure it does.
The three appear in Chaos's office. Luke and Bianca quickly leave and Percy stays behind to talk with his father.
"Percy, how was the mission?" Chaos asks giving Percy a quick hug.
Percy smiles. "It was fun. Especially when Luke fell off the Godzilla imposter."
"How are you doing?"
Percy shrugs. "I don't know. I feel a lot better than I have been but it's not the same you know? I'll always remember what happened 90 years ago and the nightmares don't help either."
"One day it'll get better and you'll be happy just like you used to be. Maybe even happier." Percy smiles at his father.
"Yeah maybe."
Chaos pulls Percy into another hug. "Now tell me more about Luke and his fears of pink poodles and peacocks."
Percy grins and tells embarrassing stories about Luke.

(90 years later // 1 1/2 earth years)
"Eli, I swear to Chaos if you don't give me some blue cookies I will personally burn all the food dye and make him take away the ability to make blue food!"
Eli, you gotta give her some cookies. I can't live without any blue cookies! Please.
"Oh, but it's so fun to steal things from Silena. She can get so mean."
"I heard that you dick!"
"You see what I mean? It's great."
"Eli, I will kill you! I want a cookie, stop hogging them all!"
Eli, please! I need blue cookies in my life!
"Oh, fine. Here Silena." Eli hands her a blue cookie then retracts his hand and runs away again. Once Silena gets close enough behind him he stops abruptly, causing her to fall backwards. "Oh, my. Are you okay?" He asks sarcastically and a grin on his face.
Silena kicks him in the shin and she steals the cookie out of his hands and smiles when she finally takes a bite.
"You can be terrifying Silena, you know that."
"One of my best features." Silena grins and walks off.
Eli gets off the floor and flashes to Zoë, making her let out a shriek.
"Dude, you almost gave me a heart attack." Eli sees her glance out her window. "How come you don't use your wings?"
"He does. Just at night when he needs some time to himself."
Zoë nods accepting the answer. "So, did you want something?"
"As a matter of fact. I did." Eli smiles, his eyes turning to two different colors. "We want to know if since you left Earth, your oath to Lady Artemis still stands. We were in our room thinking about the gods then remembered about it."
"Oh, well, since I died it basically vanished. Now that I'm back it's still gone unless I tell her my oath again. Which I won't do because I love staying here in Origo with you two and the others. It feels like home." Zoë looks at Percy. "Does that answer your question you really wanted to know."
He smiles. "Yes. Yes, it does." And just like that he flashes off leaving Zoë to her thoughts.

(60 years later // 1 earth year later)
(240 years after Percy left earth // 4 earth years after Percy left)
Once again Percy wakes up from a nightmare about camp. He dreamt the things they did to him. That one time Piper cut him right below his shoulder. Another time when Annabeth joined some other campers and continued telling them lies of things Percy had never done.
Percy, calm down. It's fine now.
But Percy didn't seem to hear him. He was breathing in raggedy breaths and the room began to shake. He didn't care. He can only hear the words they threw at him. He can only feel the scars they left on him. He can only see the punches they threw at him.
He barely recognized when Luke slammed through the door and ran to Percy. By then there were tears streaming down his face and he was shaking violently.
"It's okay, Percy, it was just a dream." He continued to say soft words until he closed his eyes but reopened them only for them to be red.
"He's asleep now."
Luke nodded. "Was it about camp?"
"Yeah. It's the first time he's had one in a while. He's been getting better."
"Yeah, he has."
Chaos flashed into the room with a worried look. "Is he okay?"
"Yeah, he had a nightmare." Luke replies. "He's asleep. Eli was just telling me that it was his first one in a while."
Chaos nods. "I don't think he should go on the next mission."
"Next mission? What's the next mission?"
"Battle on Earth. Monsters are rebelling again and Tartarus is trying to get out of.. er... Tartarus."
"Eli, you can block this from him right?"
"I can." He answers. "But only for a few hours. He will end up finding out and will most likely be pissed."
"So I guess there's no choice but to tell him when he wakes up." Chaos says. "Eli when he wakes up, tell him to get the other section leaders and meet in my office. And make sure he's doing okay."
"Yes, Chaos." Him and Luke leave the room and Eli goes to sleep.
————
Percy wakes up to an empty room.
Good morning.
"Good morning, Eli." Percy yawns and stretches before getting out of bed to change into some clothes.
Percy how are you doing?
Not feeling like talking Percy just speaks to him through his mind.
Better. A lot better.
Okay. Your father wants you to gather the section leaders and go to his office. He needs to speak to you about a new mission.
Okay. What planet.
Chaos will tell you. He wants to tell you himself.
Oh. Okay then.
Percy walks out his room and knocks on Luke's door. He opens it, already dressed.
"Hey, Perce. How are ya?"
"A lot better than when I woke up."
Luke nodded. "Good. Guess we have to go to Chaos now?"
Percy nods and walks to the other warriors's rooms.
After he gathered them all, they walked to Chaos's office.
"Hello, Father."
Chaos looks up and smiles sadly.
"Hey, Zeno. I have good and bad news."
Percy nods. "Okay."
"Well, good news first, you get to see your best friend again."
Percy's mouth opens but then he gets confused.
"Bad news is; you have to go to Earth."
Percy clamps his mouth shut and tries to figure out how he feels about it.
"Why?"
"Monsters and Tartarus are rebelling against the gods."
Percy nods. "When do we leave?"
"Anytime between now and tomorrow morning."
Percy nods again. "Okay." He says in a quiet voice and slowly walks out the door. He climbs the stairs all the way to top and climbs to the roof. He spreads his wings and jumps off the roof flapping his wings every so often to keep him in the air.
Percy doesn't know what to think. Yeah, he misses things from Earth. Well, person from earth. He misses Nico. And he's happy he gets to see his best friend again. But he's also scared. Before he left, the gods never told him how the camp reacted to the truth. He didn't want to know. But now he's scared. Scared if it just made them angrier. Scared that Nico might have started to hate him too. For leaving and never calling or sending a message to let him know he's okay. Or he forgot about him.
Percy didn't realize he was crying. But about what? There was so many things to cry about that Percy didn't know what made him cry now.
Sometimes I feel as if I know you better than you know yourself.
You probably do.
I just can't believe you don't know it yet.
Know what?
Well I'm not going to tell you that. But I will tell you that Nico will never hate you. Yeah he may be mad that you left and didn't contact him after but he'll get over it. It's Nico we're talking about. We both know him. It'll turn out okay just watch.
But we always keep our identities secret on missions.
You might be able to tell him eventually.
Yeah, maybe.
Percy flew for about an hour before returning to the others. When they spotted him they ran to him to make sure he was alright.
"I'm fine guys really. Eli helped me."
"Good."
"When do you guys want to leave?"
They look at each other before Beckendorf responds. "Whenever you want."
"Alright how about in about two hours? To get everything ready."
They nodded and separated to their own rooms to pack.

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
