Meher's POV-

I walked back to the cafè and saw Shubman sitting in a corner with two coffee mugs on the table.

"So, tell me." I said, sitting on the chair, across him.

"Well, I'm pretty sure you would've known about me and Sara." He stated.

"I.. actually didn't." I said, giving him a small smile.

"I'm not much into gossips, I'm sorry." I added, chuckling.

"Nah, it's okay. So, well, the thing is, people think Sara and I are dating, but we're not." He said.

I nodded, taking a sip of my coffee, before I asked him to continue.

"The thing is, I like Sara-"

I cut him off by saying, "But she doesn't?"

"Yeah." He sighed.

"And when did she tell this to you?" I asked him.

"I was on a call with her about thirty minutes back." He said.

"Look Shubman, I'm not taking sides, but I guess, she needed some time to figure out her feelings."

"That's what she said too." He sighed.

"Sometimes you think you like a person, but you actually don't. You just like his or her company. And when things get serious, you just don't how to put it across, because of which you end up hurting that person more than you initially intended to. But in the first place, you actually didn't even intend to hurt that person." I explained.

"I do get your point, Meher, but it isn't easy for me. I spent a year liking her, thinking that she liked me back too." He explained his part.

"Did you fall in love with her?" I asked him.

"I... I don't know?"

"Okay, did you ever feel like saying 'I love you' to her?" I made it easier for him.

"No." His answer was to the point.

"Then I guess you're good to go." I stated.

"Instead of regretting that you spent a year liking her, take it in a positive way, that you spent a year learning a lesson." I added.

"And come on, Shubman. Life isn't always fair. You learn things the hard way."

"Yeah, I guess." He shrugged his shoulders.

"You'll take some time to get over it, but trust me, eventually you will." I assured him.

He smiled and nodded at me.

"You were destined to be someone else's, and that's what's happening." I smiled back.

"I'm not finding that someone else." He laughed.

"Well, if you don't, it's okay, she'll eventually come to you." I stated, chuckling.

"Maybe, I just have to wait for the right one."

"Yeah. Maybe, that's what you have to do." I smiled.

"Till then, have one night stands, enjoy being single."

Shubman laughed as soon as the above sentence escaped my mouth.

"You know, I'm not really good with girls." He stated.

"What do you mean?" I asked, chuckling.

"I mean, I'm not really good at speaking to them, and you know just in general..."

"So, you're saying, the Shubman Gill is shy?" I smiled.

"Not really..." He blushed.

I laughed, before saying, "You're really cute."

"Yeah yeah, okay." He rolled his eyes, but still had a smile on his face.

As I sipped my coffee, Shubman asked, "By the way, how did you get to know?"

"Get to know what?" I chuckled.

"I mean, you just saw me and went like 'kat gaya tera'." He pointed, laughing at what I'd told him.

"Oh that." I laughed along.

"I've seen that look on Meeth and Naksh's faces, so I was really familiar with it."

"Meeth and Naksh?"

"Cousins." I stated.

He nodded his head, while sipping his coffee, before saying, "Okay, so now you know one of my biggest secrets, so how about we make it even? Tell me about yourself"

"Well, I'm Meher Agarwal. I'm currently 21 years old. I completed BBA about 6 months back, and now I'm enrolled to Pixel Academy, and I guess, that's it." I smiled, shrugging my shoulders.

"BBA and now photography?" He asked.

"Ah, I get that question a lot." I chuckled.

"So, basically, I was always interested in photography, but then my parents had other plans... you could say BBA is a back up." I explained.

"Atleast you have a back up plan." He pointed out, chuckling.

"Oh, it's not like you need one. You're really good at what you do, and I'm sure you have a long way to go. Touchwood." I said, touching a wood, so as to not jinx it.

"Hopefully." He chuckled.

"Chill, you'll do great." I smiled at him.

"You think so?"

"I know so." I assured him.

"And please don't let the Sara issue affect you or your game. It's really not worth it. Just wait for the right girl to come along, and you'll see how things settle in for you."

"Yeah." He smiled, and I was happy to see that this time it was a genuine one.

"Thank you." He added.

"For what?" I asked, chuckling.

"For this talk. I really needed it."

"Well, in that case, thank you for the coffee. I really needed it too."
