While Mayako and her older siblings had been training inside the training realm her mother and father were sitting in the kitchen an air of seriousness surrounded them, Mayako's father let out a hefty sigh "So, your saying that we should tell Mayako that she's, different" her mother sighed with a sad face. "I know, it sounds bad, but, she needs to know what she is" her mother argued her father scratched his chin "I don't know hun, she might not take it too well" "But still, she should know" her mother interjected her father sighed a second time "I don't know..". At that moment the subject of their conversation walked into the kitchen which made the two of them stop their talk dry "Hey mom, hey dad" Mayako smiled as she walked over to them her father looked at her with a smile "Hello Mayako, your out earlier then usual" her father had told Mayako not to come out of the training realm until she had been inside for at least three hours.
Mayako chuckled nervously "Ah, yeah about that, something came up.." she rubbed the back of her head nervously her parents looked between each other confused and puzzled "What happened Mayako?" her father asked "Well.." Mayako hesitated a bit "Mayako, did something bad, happen" Mayako shook her head "No, nothing bad happened!" she shouted she then chuckled nervously. "Okay, if it's nothing bad then why do you seem so nervous?" Mayako swallowed hard she had tried to not look nervous she let out a groan, leave it to her father to notice, Mayako gave a smile "Mom, Dad, I've got something to show you" again her parents exchanged a look her mother smiled "Show us what dear?" Mayako took in a breath.
"Well, this" she said letting her twin black tails come into view her father practically leapt up from the table "Tw..Twin-tail?!" he had a bit of a smirk on his face Mayako nodded "Is..Is it.." her father approached her "It's real" her father was speechless he was in awe of his daughter. She had just become a One-tail a week ago and now her she was sporting two tails "How...When did this happen?" he wanted details, he needed to know how something like this was possible "Well,.." Mayako relayed her story from inside the training realm, she made sure to leave out the whole fighting and almost beating the crap out of her older sister part. After hearing her story Mayako's father touched his chin and gave an affirmative 'Hmm..' fallowed by an 'I see..' he was now deep in thought until the sound of his wife clearing her throat got his attention, she had a serious look on her face "What?" she groaned "Tell her" her husband stood and eyes her.

For a third time he sighed, "Okay, you win I'll tell her" Mayako overhearing their conversation was curious, "Tell me what?" she looked at her mother, and then to her father with a puzzled look on her face, then Mayako had a small inkling of what was going on "Are...You hiding something from me?". A groan came from her father "Mayako,.." her father hesitated, he didn't want to tell Mayako what he was about to tell her but, he thought it was better she knew now rather then later "It's about what you are". "What I am?" Mayako was confused, she knew what she was she was a twin-tailed spirit fox, but the look on her fathers face, and the seriousness that hung on his words, she knew her father knew something she didn't Mayako saw her fathers mouth open and she waited with baited breath, "Mayako, you are a-" at that moment they were interrupted by Keishi and Yone.
"There you are Maya" her brother said "Nii-san? nee-chan? What are you two doing here?" "Well, we told you to go quick and show mom and dad your second tail and come back" Mayako laughed "Oh yeah, I was but dad was going to-" at that moment her fathers voice erupted "Keishi! Yone! Mayako!" all three siblings stood at attention "Yes sir!" the three of them shouted. It was rare for their father to raise his voice like that, "You two, go back to training" the two older siblings looked at each other confused "Okay, but why?" Yone asked "Just go!" her father shouted "Right!" she responded "Mayako, you stay here we haven't finished our talk" Mayako nodded "Talk? What do you mean dad?" Keishi interjected "Nii-san?" "Keishi, I told you to go back to training" Keishi growled "Why!?, if you need to talk to Mayako then we can stay her and wait" a low growl came from their father "Did I stutter?".

Keishi shook, his father had the scariest look on his face, "N... No sir" Keishi made a dejected face "Then do what you were told" Keishi nodded and he began walking out the kitchen Yone stood still a bit in shock her father looked over at her "Eeepp,Wait for me Keishi!" she then ran out the kitchen to catch up with him. Mayako was left, her father looked at her "Phew, can't believe I had to scare my own kid "He takes after you" his wife commented "Does he now" "Uhm, dad, what is it you want to talk with me about again?" her father cleared his throat "Right, Mayako, what I'm about to tell you does now get let out to nobody, not even your brother and sister, promise?" Mayako was hesitant, what was her dad about to tell her, and why was it so secret not even her brother and sister, her own family, couldn't know.
"Mayako!" her father yelled "Yes sir! I promise!" "Alright, now, this may come to a shock to you but.." her father took a breath "Mayako, your not a normal fox spirit" Mayako laughed nervously "What do you mean dad? of course I am!" was her father messing with her? was he saying something like this because he knew she was thinking about it her father shook her head "No, Mayako your not" Mayako chuckled "Come on dad that wasn't funny the first time". Her father sighed "Mayako.." Mayako was shaking, she didn't want to hear it, she didn't want to hear that she was different, "I'm...I'm a fox spirit..I'm..I'm.." all at once realization came to Mayako, she had know from the beginning that she was different, when she looked at how her brother and sister looked, and then back at herself she knew without a doubt, that she was different from them.
She wanted to deny it, with all her might, but with her father telling her himself that she was different she knew, Mayako sighed in defeat, "What..What am I?" Mayako wrapped her arms around herself "Mayako, you are a demon fox spirit" a long pause filled the air after those words, Mayako stood as if frozen, "I'm..I'm a what?" Mayako spoke softly "A demon fox spirit" her father repeated. "Demon fox spirit" that name rang through Mayako's head "Are you sure?" her father nodded "Yes, of that I'm certain, your form, and those tails, you could be nothing else but" Mayako felt like a huge wave had crushed her she felt her father place a hand on her shoulder "Let me tell you more about what you are" Mayako looked at her father, she wanted to know more about herself, what she could do as a demon fox spirit so, she nodded "Okay, tell me everything, tell me all about what I am". The Forgotten One
Hey there everbody. This will be my second upload to Roll 20. Unfortunately I wasn't able to continue my previous one due to life and what not but I'm now back and have a some what new idea I've been kicking around for years. We'll see if i head back to my other fiction due to having things calming down. And like always I'm open to constructive critisims. Any way on to the synopsis. The world as we know it is gone. Torn from everyone due to two major things. First and foremost a biologica lweapon that no one wanted to take credit for after it was released and couldn't be stopped (a zombie virus of sorts) and the way that many nations thought to stop it from spreading was to destory everything they could ofcourse that didn't include them selves. So there the world was in a mexican standoff with hundreds of countries with hundreds of nuclear weapons just dareing one another to make the first move. Once again no one knew who started it but it didn't matter once it started the world was doomed. In an attempt to save people some scientists began working on a way to cryogenically frezze people so they could surive the on coming armegedon. The problem was before they could begin testing it on humnas the nukes began launching. In a bid to save them selves a family gave their youngest son to the scientists as a test subject. He had already been infected by the virus weeks before the nukes were being threatened and still retained his humanitiy. After being betrayed by his family after telling them of his ability to stay him self and a few things the bio weapon had changed in him physically he was sedated with enough drugs to kill a whole pride of elephants and forced to take part in the experiment. The last thing he remembers was watching his world close around him (his cryo pod) and his family's face of sadness but also hope in the fact that them betraying him may give them a chance to live. This is a fan fiction in which many aspects of one of my favorite games will be quiet prevelent. It will be obvious to those who have played it but for those who may not the game i'm going to be baseing some of the things in this novel is called Prototype. And no I do not own the rights to the cover. If the creater would like for me to pull it down please messege me.
