Michael POV
Kyle: "Imma go to the restroom, don't go to work without me yeah!"
Kyle stands up and goes to ask the cashier where the restroom is.
Kyle reminds me of someone I used to know. An easygoing, annoying person. He was too kind for his own good.
Back then, our country, Xarunta, was sandwiched between two major powers, The Great Euzonia and The Great Empire of Zarastria. The wars continued for a century, threatening our borders.
We maintained our neutrality, however, The Great Empire of Zarastria wanted us to side with them. The Empire was infamous for being ruthless to their enemies, so our king did not want to anger them. However, Euzonia would immediately rush to our borders and invade us. Either way, both countries have stationed armies near our borders.
However, sometime during the war, our king stepped down. Taking the crown would be his son, the prince. But it was not the first prince, rather it was the third prince. His name, Crysostomo Jacobos Xarunta, would be imprinted to the history of the world as The Wise King.
He revolutionized our country, being one of the first countries to create magic tools. We maintained neutrality during the war, trading with Euzonia and Zarastria to push the magic tool research further. When we finally managed to create our magic tools, we bargained our neutrality with them as bargaining chips. We would create magic tools and sell them to both countries. If they want to monopolize the magic tools, then they would have to negotiate further with our backer.
Euzonia to our West, Zarastria to our East. Another neutral country resides in the South. The Union of Viele. A country rich in minerals, and is surrounded by a plethora of natural defenses, like high mountains and deep forests.

Making contact with them was not easy, but King Crysostomo had managed to forge a friendly relation with them. Viele had provided us with raw materials for creating and researching magic tools, and we provided them with resources that they wouldn't be able to obtain in their country, such as oil and a special ore found only in the sea.
Since the trade route would also go through Xarunta, lowering prices for trade was also offered. Lastly, they would be the official seller of our magic tools. Viele was to become the official seller of magic tools because most of the materials were provided by Viele.
Since then, we have secured our country, and we have managed to avoid being invaded.
But war never changes.
Zarastria has managed to almost deplete its resources and manpower because of the war. Their king decided to invade Xarunta.
"Our cause is just! Our king is absolute! Our power is true! We will leave our mark in history as the greatest country in the world!"
Chanting like madmen, Zarastria's soldiers marched to our borders. With the help of our magic tools, we managed to hold ground. Hearing about the rash decision of Zarastria, Euzonia has agreed to help us, lest Zarastria would gain resources that would threaten Euzonia.
However, nearing the end of the war, an incident occurred.
On the battlefield appeared one of the so-called "First Generation". A mage naturally blessed by mana, fully capable of bringing out the true power of mana, absolute magic.
Where did it come from? Is it an enemy? An ally?
With no concern for its surroundings, it blasted magic in all directions. This first-generation magician was famously dubbed as "Snow White".
She was a female with long silver-white hair and deep blue eyes. She wore a navy blue dress, paired with navy blue arm gloves and navy blue boots.

As for why she was nicknamed Snow White, it was her magic. She froze everything within a 1km radius.
Because of her magic, all countries that were on the battlefield suffered casualties, with Zarastria having the most casualties.
She was nowhere to be seen after that. She appeared out of nowhere and disappeared like smoke.
People would unmistakenly say that she ended the war. Zarastria retreated, but because of the casualty they received, they were unable to stop the advance of Euzonia, and they suffered defeat. The king of Zarastria was executed, and Zarastria was taken over by Euzonia.
Among those casualties from our side, was a friend of mine.
"We'll stop the war, you'll see! We'll stop them from invading us and we'll return to our peaceful lives. I sure can't wait for this war to end. Ha ha ha!"
Those were his last words. His corpse returned cold to the touch, frozen by eternal ice. His face was of astonishment, but his mouth was curved. He was smiling. Surely he thought that Snow White was some sort of ally.
And I can see him in Kyle.
He might've not been able to see how peaceful our country is now. But he was there to make it happen.
Employee: "Here are your orders! Thank you for your patronage!"
Kyle: "Thanks miss! Let's go Michael, we don't want to be late now yeah? Ha ha ha!"
Michael: "Yeah, sure."
Cairu, you've made it happen. This is the peace you wanted. I'll live for your sake too.

School-life & Swordfights: A Clubs and Stubs Tale
Warning: Clubs and Stubs contains strong language and situations throughout that may not be suitable for younger readers. "This story takes place in a fantasy world with a modernish setting. It mainly follows four students of Hardires High School who are members of one of the greatest Team Arena Squads in the history of gladiatorial school athletics. Already two-time high-school world champions, they have entered their fourth and final year of high school in hopes of capturing a third straight world championship—something that no other school on the continent has accomplished. As they prepare for an upcoming match with a rival school, it becomes evident that keeping their two-and-a-half-year winning streak alive will be tougher than expected. As both personal and external problems abound for the student-gladiators, can they manage to keep it together under the constant pressure of being the perfect fighting unit? A blend of action, drama, adventure, and humor collide in this brand-new series!" Thanks so much for checking out my story! This is the first time that I've released any of my work to a public space so any feedback, be it positive or negative (but please be respectful if so) would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping that this story is only the beginning of a long-running series of short stories set in the Clubs and Stubs universe. Temporary Book Cover Design by David Watson The release schedule is rather tentative, but the goal is to release a chapter every 2-4 days. I want to make sure that every scene is the best it can be before it’s released, so it may take a bit longer especially if it's a longer chapter. However, no chapter should take more than a week to be released. Each scene varies in length, but are usually between 1,000 to 2,000 words.
