Bobby has finally opened his eyes, his plans have finally came into fruition. Endless years ago after surviving his pizza fight he decided that living as a human was way too cumbersome, too many things could kill him! And so, he hatched his plans to upload his consciousness into a virtual reality.

Unfortunately, the plan had a few setbacks.

First designing such a world requires a lot of resources that was inaccessible to him

Secondly. Even if he managed to build such world, uploading his consciousness required too much time. His neural Implant was just not fast enough. So in order to tackle these problems he went to the number 1 neural implant expert he knew of.

Robert was shocked when the little thief who stole his code returned to him. He even had to double check his neural activities and chemistry to see if he was having a hallucination

“So, tell me one reason why I shouldn’t report you”

“Unless you want to die together. This operation isn’t really legal is it?”

Robert quickly agreed that peace and compassion was the way to go. He didn’t want any army officials snooping around his laboratory however that didn’t mean he was willing to cooperate

“So, you want me to upgrade your neural implant so you can upload your consciousness into a virtual reality. Can you tell me why do you think ill even agree to this?”

Robert sneered, there was no way he would agree, he had principles. He is the most brilliant scientist the neural world has ever seen!

That what he thought atleast… that all changed when bobby opened his bag

“Is... is that pizza?!”

Correct. Bobby already knew about Robert pizza obsession. And there was no better way to have him follow his plan other than to use 1 whole slice for it, he has looted it off from pablo. The only two slices remaining. Bobby felt his heart clench but he thought it was a cheap price to pay for immortality

“Yes. One slice of pizza,from pablos. For your cooperation”

Robert acted as he was in contemplation, in reality he was forcing his neural implant to filter all the chemicals in his brain that are making him excited but to no avail, there was just too much.

“Okay fine ill do it. But there is no guarantee that you wont die in the process, You’ve already seen the state of my workshops and secondly you still have to follow the mandatory school system or else you would be executed”

“That is fine I can wait, but you will have to adopt me, unfortunately my parents were executed for not being patriotic”

“I am not going to pay for your food”

“That’s fine too, I already have a method to get food”

Their cooperation was quickly established, Robert went into in-depth research regarding a new method for neural implant that will directly connect the human consciousness into a simulated reality. He decided to rent a server from the Glorious Leader Tech company, as it was the only tech company that was legally allowed to sell or rent computing power. He decided that the best way to ensure that the virtual world will survive is to have it attached to the A.I. but what about the price? Don’t servers cost money to rent? Naturally yes but he had a way around this too… You see, since bobby is not going to survive in his body, he will just have to acquire a ridiculous loan that he is obviously not going to pay back. Luckily, Banks were not exactly abolished in the glorious leader state. Bobby just had to do a presentation that would claim it would be absolutely unpatriotic to not support his project

And a lot of promising ‘investors’ wanted to be on this artistic endeavor, to launde- I mean to appreciate the value of his art.

Bobby continued his life, going back into Robert place every now and then to recharge his neural implant, his BOB system has been upgraded to level 2, now it offers more intuitive solution to his real-world problems. He finally managed to acquire a 5/10 rating! Although going past that seems quite difficult, perhaps he needed another upgrade

His survival system on the other hand has been significantly changed, it has an end purpose now to upload bobby consciousness, and every mission it issues will lead a step closer into that purpose

Robert research required a bit of … inspiration that was needed from his work rivals. So a lot of times bobby had to go there on an undercover mission to steal data. That was finally resolved when bobby had the genius idea to his ridiculous wealth to buy the data. After a bit of persuasion using his entrepreneur system as guidance. He managed to acquire all the blueprints they needed

And then came the day of Bobbys mandatory military draft. Unfortunately, that doesn’t save Bobby from the chance of being executed. It only increased it because officers will not like it if Bobby suddenly exhibited “abnormal behavior” to combat that. Bobby finally took the step forward in A.I. and made his B.O.B system a better self-upgrading system that will constantly improve. Right now its on level 6 and will soon reach level 7, although Bobby has been annoyed the system constant care. He realizes that if he wanted to survive, he will need to bear with it for several years

On the year 30 of Bobby life

The project was finally complete

“Alright. I wont say anything about death right now since in reality this is your only path to survive” Bobby was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He doesn’t have much time anymore

“I will just need to make a small cut and connect this to your spinal cord. It will be over soon I promise”

Bobby nodded and sat in the chair while exposing his neck, Robert didn’t waste any time and grabbed the cleaver and made a cut in his neck. He didn’t care about preserving the body since Bobby wouldn’t need it anymore, He grabbed a cable used to transfer neural signals and jammed it in his back

Robert thought it was good enough and looked at his terminal.

“It’s uploading..”
