《NiceOneNoMicroSon》A heroic rescue

The diagnostics coming back from the MicroSon were directly beamed into the brain of Robert, who almost felt fear at the worsening condition within the patients head.
Apparently the kid had somehow managed to overdose on Valium. What kind of irresponsible parent did not teach their child to not overdose when taking drugs?
Robert shook his head over this significant blunder which was not at all his fault.
Now the current state was not exactly good for Bobby, Robert had taken enough drugs and had lost enough relatives to them taking drugs to be an expert in recognizing bad states.
Overdosing on Valium could lead to a death similar to the death one would get by overdosing on Heroin. Robert knew that every drug related death was kinda similar and in this case it was not good for his life expectancy too.
Luckily he had just the tools to prevent getting executed by the government as a result of his (not really his, it was of course the parents fault) death resulting actions.
Cleverly he instructed the MicroSon to suck out all of the Valium so that would not happen.
Of course the MicroSon had not saved the exact chemical structure of Valium, nor were the inbuilt filters so powerful as to only filter only Valium, but it was not needed.
It also would not be possible as cramming an entire chemistry lab with chemists included into ones head would be most certainly lethal and way too expensive also.
There had been a try at that, when a man had driven whilst under the influence of drugs and crashed into the building, hitting it with his head. It inplanted the brain into the macroscopic chemical sensor and versatile manufacturing machinery, but the sudden surgery did kill him for arcane reasons - the science was just not advanced enough.
Valium was an anaestheticum and the MicroSon was able to remove the anaestetic chemicals. That was the one and only filter function built into the MicroSon as originally the idea of Robert was to become a drug dealer without chemistry knowledge with help of the MicroSon. The excruciating pain felt when the anaestheticum was removed did dissuade him from pursuing this lucrative career. Surprised Robert watched Bobby awakening on the operating table on which still some dried blood could be found. Robert was deeply displeased as Bobby started to scream (so loud), but that stopped when Bobby fell unconcious. This more or less mirrored the reaction of Robert when he had tried to utilize the MicroSon - in other words it was fully tested and safe to use.

Robert did order his implant to do some calculations on when the boy would stop being high after awakening and came to the alarming conclusion that he would be either high or unconcious when his parents would arrive in ten minutes. He would probably be able to get away with it if he had a plan, but maybe he could just lie and say that Bobby needed some rest after the operation. Hey that wasn't too far from the truth, so Robert kept calm and relaxed by doing a bit of heroin. That means he would have done so if he could have afforded it. Heroin was an upper class drug, and he was a middle class scientist.
Maybe some of the mold was fit to be utilized for its potentially halluzinogenic chemicals.
Robert started browsing on the internet utilizing his own implant to its fullest potential.
The next minutes were spent looking up latin names of diverse molds, identifying those with psychoactive chemicals, identifying several poisonous ones and finally doing some work in cleaning and ventilating the room, which would extend the biological lifespan of Robert significantly. If he ever managed to fully eradicate the mold, his next problem would be the rats, so it would be a sisyphos work until someone finally changed their lifestyle to include less trash in their house - a common case among single men that were not living in their parents house. The doorbell started buzzing, but Robert also got a notification over his neural implant and an involuntary muscle spasm due to a badly sewn in electrode. Robert had almost impaled himself with the medicinal scalpel that he was using to scrape some mold off a wall. Cursing, Robert began to make haste in getting rid of the evidence - before he remembered that the boy was just a customer and still alive.
Relieved he laid down his scalpel and the rest of the tools that he had needed for the surgery into the mold covered sink he had taken them out of previously - everyone knew that mold was antibacterial so this was perfectly valid. He might even keep it like that exactly for thath purpose.

Robert then went to get the door, the parents standing in front of him, whilst Bobby was not with him, hence the unconciousness - AHEM Hence the unconciousness.
"Bobby needs some rest after the operation.", Robert parroted the mental note that he had left in the neural implant. This function he rarely used ever since he had wished "Happy [insert age] Birthday [insert name]." to an aquaintance.
"How is Bobby?", Laggad inquired worried about her son, to which Robert responded "He is unconcious. Bobby needs some rest after the operation. I mean Bobby is sleeping, not unconcious. Sweet dreams probably. Yes I can confirm that scientifically it is proven that he has sweet dreams by analyzing the logs. Which he has, because now he got those neural implants. Do you have a charging dock already?", Robert stopped rambling.
"We can't afford a charging dock. Is there any chance that Bobby can use your charging dock for free? We did buy two implants after all.", Bill bargains hopeful that they would not have to purchase another thing as they had already spent more money than strictly should be spent for just a present - that was also an investion in their sons future.
Robert started thinking quick, found reasons to allow it, and spoke out: "Yes, but only if I am allowed to update Bobbys software every time he comes over to use my charging dock. Free of charge of course.", this sounded like a good deal for Bill (no downsides at all) and he gave the generous engineer a smile and a "Thank you!". Robert nodded with a forced smile and opened the door fully: "Do you want to come in? I would rather not carry your son into the car myself as he looks quite heavy.", Robert gestured to his thin frame - his diet had not yet killed him, but his almost skeletal body did make him seem particularly unhealthy.
The poor condition that the living room was in did seem to mirror this trend.
Bobbys parents grew rather worried after seeing Bobby laying on the (now no longer blood encrusted) wooden table. They luckily could not see the parts underneath the table, where a vicious white mold claimed hold of the furniture that had been rather robust before the incident had claimed most of the pain Robert would ever experience.
Without talking too much to the skeletal scientist, they removed Bobby from Robert's Experimental Science and Repair service and brought him home into his warm bed.
Mixed feelings were felt by the both of them, a worry had creeped into the initially high spirits of having their child ascend beyond mere flesh. What would come now that the surgery had been done? Would Bobby take over the world, become a genius, toughen up, die shortly after the surgery from complications in the software or maybe just continue on like before? One thing could be said for sure:
Bobby would awaken on a sunny sunday morning in high spirits - it would be a good time if not even the best time to test out all those features.

Kellan Klein is an ordinary college student with an average, if traumatic and painful past. Everyone grows up grappling with depression and anxiety that seem to be genetic in a house with parents that, while loving, fight all the time and have weird ideas about what kids should and shouldn't do, right? Everyone deals with bullying, racism, judgement on their romantic inclinations and their family's economic status and just general shittiness, right? All of Kellan's friends sure did, and for all of them, entertaiment media were a welcome escape from their painful, dreary lives. After all, who wouldn't want to sail the seas with Monkey D. Luffy and the Strawhats, or help Meng Hao con increasingly powerful and influential people, or join Cecil Harvey and his friends on their weird journey to save the world, or make friends with Peter Parker while pretending to not know he was everyone's favorite wall-crawling superhero? Kellan certainly wanted to, and while he pursued college to seek out a career he saw himself enjoying, something felt inexplicably empty about his life. So when a decidely sinister force kidnaps him and the prettiest man he's ever seen saves his life and offers him his wildest dreams, Kellan becomes the shopkeeper of a mysterious, dimension hopping shop, complete with a system that helps him acquire items. abilities, materials, and other cool shit to stock it with, as well as some other neat perks. Will Kellan become a boring overpowered MC, like the kind from web fiction that he reads to sate his boredom? Will he keep his generally kind, sweet nature despite the shit he's gone through and will go through, or will he inexplicably become a scary, violent, irrational arrogant douchebag? Will he use his newfound abilities to explore the multiverse and improve the lives of himself and others, or will he become his own antithesis, a purely mercantile jerk obsessed with money and profit, with no concern for anything that doesn't help or hurt his business? Find out in The Curio Shoppe! Author's note: Please suggest possible setting he could visit in the comments. I'll gather ones i'm familiar with, and at the end of every arc, a poll will be held to decide the next location he visits. There will be polls for other purposes, and I might not always go with the poll winner if I feel one of the other options is more fun to read/write about. I will not use the settings of other RRL writers without their permission.Do not ask for that, unless the author in question gives permission. Most settings he visits will be slightly AU in some way or another, but please remind me if I drift too far from canon unintentionally or characterize a character wrongly. This work will eventually fit all tags I selected once he visits universes suited to those tags, so don't ask when or where a given tag is coming. I do not own the cover art, it belongs to Nicholas Belanger Thiel, and I will stop using it if he asks me to. Kellan doesn't look like the old man on the cover, though once he acquires a disguise-type ability he may occasionally use that appearance. The tapir, however, will be a thing, as despite looking like a failed attempt at an elephant, tapirs are cool and this dragon finds them to be kinda cute. The art, along with more of Nicholas's pieces, can be found at https://www.artstation.com/artwork/51bXz
