《I want to live》ch. 18 Mansion

“Where did we put the hidden door?”
“It should be around... here.”
I press a rock on the side of entrance to the cave. Two doors appear from the rocks and they open automatically, it’s a magic elevator. We made it so the real entrance is a secret one, if somebody enters the cave from the main entrance, they’ll just encounter endless traps and dead ends. We enter the elevator and I use a golden key to activate it.
We use the elevator and we reach the underground of the mine; the doors open. There’s a big space in front of us. It’s an extremely big cave. Everything is illuminated by an artificial sun on the ceiling of the cave. Everything here is powered by a magic reactor. We have to replenish it with magic stones from time to time.
In the middle of the cave, there’s a mansion, a very big mansion surrounded by an amazingly beautiful garden. Almost all the plants are fluorescent so it adds an enchanted vibe to the place.
“It’s so beautiful...”
“Yeah...”
Although I knew how it would look, it’s different to see it in person. I want to bring Lynda here...
“Let’s enter the mansion.”
“Yes.”
When we approach the front door of the mansion, a butler and some maids get out to receive us.
“Hello, Masters.” (All servants)
“Hi.” (Light and me)
We had to hire NPCs; we need someone to take care of everything in the mansion. It’s way too big for us to take care.
“Show us the mansion.”
“As you order, master.” (Butler)
He brings us around all the rooms in the mansion. There’s still a lot of empty rooms, we are planning on accepting more people later. Apart from all the necessary rooms and the one’s for entertainment, he shows us our rooms. They are amazing, my room is almost as big as Lynda’s apartment. There’s a lot of interesting rooms, but, If I had to point one, it would be Light’s torture chamber.
When the butler brought us to it, I didn’t want to enter, but my curiosity won me. I just took a peek inside; I haven’t seen as much things I don’t understand since the time when I left White Ink. Why does she need so many tools? What is that strange looking table for? I’ll just try to ignore the existence of that room.

“Light, it’s time to return.”
“Fine.”
“Goodbye, masters.”
“Do you have a name?”
“No, you can call me however you like.”
I look at Light to see if she has a name for him, but she doesn’t seem to have anything.
“I’ll name you Stephan.”
“Thanks for giving me a name, master.
“Ok, bye Stephan.”
We get to Bitterstone again. I want to do some things.
…
I’m searching for equipment in the market, Light went to do something by herself. We still have a lot of remaining money from the guild robberies. I see someone I know... Deadly. I approach him.
“Hey, Deadly!”
“Oh, hi.”
He looks a lot happier than the time I found him in the bar.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m just searching for some blacksmith materials.”
“Are you a blacksmith?”
“Yeah, it’s not for showing off, but I’m quite the famous blacksmith.”
“Well, you should not be that famous since I haven’t heard about you.”
“But I have heard about you.”
“How?”
“There’s a guy with a beautiful face robbing small guilds, there’s even videos of your robberies.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, you’re are quite famous now.”
“Even that girl who follows you, a lot of people say she was the one killing men in alleys before.”
Oh, so they know it’s her. Well, I don’t think being famous should be a problem.
“Well, it’s enough about me. Do you need any help? I don’t have anything to do right now.”
“Well, if you find any interesting blacksmith materials, contact me.”
“Now that I think about it, I have some materials from the clans we robbed. Could you do something for me with those materials?”
“Let me see them.”
Uhhm, I think it should be fine to let him enter our base. Oh, I have a plan.
“Yeah, follow me.”
…
We arrived at the base. He was amazed when he saw the mansion. I brough him to our warehouse. Everything is organized by the servants, so it’s a lot easier to find something. We reach one part full of blacksmith materials, from simple ores, to magic alloys.

“Wow, where did you get all of this?”
“These are from the savings of small clans, it’s natural that it is this big.”
“Would you sell me anything?”
“What about this, if you enter us, I’ll let you use all of our materials for free.”
“What!!”
He seems indecisive. When we were talking in the bar, he told me that he liked being free, so he doesn’t enter any guild or group, but blacksmithing is a subclass which needs a lot of experience with various materials, and blacksmith materials are usually very expensive.
“Don’t worry, you can be as free as before. You just need to help us in forging our equipment from time to time. And if you want, you can also help us in any other activities.”
“Give me time to think.”
“Fine, you can take some materials for now as a gift from me, but give me your answer tomorrow.”
“Ok.”
He grabs some materials and we walk back to Bitterstone.
“Hey, I saw some kids in a metal cage earlier, they seemed very famous. Do you know who they are?”
“Kids... Ah, I think you’re referring to the evil twins.”
“Evil twins?”
“Yeah, they are two extremely powerful sorcerers. They are one of the top sorcerers in Dragon’s Lair. What’s even more amazing about them, is that they are lone players. There’s no top sorcerer, apart from them, who doesn’t have a guild backing them. Sorcerer is a very difficult class and it needs lots of resources.”
“So, how are they so powerful?”
“They are extremely good with the magic mechanics. Do you know how they work, right?”
“Yeah.”
Magic classes are very different from the fury ones. You have to use something to transport and convert mana. You can use chants, hand signs or even some other orthodox methods. Magic abilities tend to have a longer cast time than the fury ones. What differentiates a good magic user from a bad one, is the timing of abilities and more important, casting time. I’ve never casted a spell but it seems that casting is very difficult, normally you would last various seconds to cast a simple ability, but you can shorten that time with ability.
“They are extremely fast at casting abilities; they are also known as some of the only sorcerers who can double cast.”
“Double cast?”
“They can cast two abilities at the same time.”
I didn’t know that was possible, is it possible with fury abilities too? I’ll try later.
“So, why were they in that cage?
“They love destroying things. They attacked the main base from Fire lion.”
“Fire lion? They attacked Fire lion alone?”
Fire lion is, currently, the strongest guild. They won the last guild war in the world championship. their guild master is “Downer”, the one who won the second place in the single player battle. The only one who could defeat him was One.
“Yeah, they attacked Fire lion and destroyed their warehouse. The warehouse basically exploded. The objects in there were scattered in a kilometer radius. They even had to rebuild the warehouse from nothing.”
“How did they do that?”
“Nobody knows. There are no abilities known with that much power.”
“That sounds fun... Where are they locked up?”
“They probably are in the Fire lion guild, Locked in the basement or something.”
“You’re right, thanks for the information. Think about the offer and tell me your answer tomorrow.”
“Alright, see you later.”
“Bye.”
I’ll let free those twins.
