《Wandering the Borderlands》Prologue

Struggling to get up I limped over to my favorite gun before looking around and finding a rusty blade. Grabbing it I looked at the man who had ruined everything. Twirling it around I made my way towards him slowly. His eyes looked at me panicking yet unable to do anything as his body struggled to move from the corpses on top of him.
"I was going to kill you with a gun… But a gun is too quick. There's no pain with a gun, it's too quick... But a Knife? I get to savor your suffering as we both die here. It's a good thing I cut your tongue. I'd rather not want to hear your pleas. Now let's begin," I spoke before digging my blade into his flesh as I twisted it around with no mercy or remorse as he whimpered and screamed silently but no one would help him this time. It was just me and him.
Revenge fueled me as wrath pumped through my veins. Furrowing my brows I crouched down. All I could feel was pure anger as I stared down at him. Digging again into flesh I started to slowly move the tip of my blade to his face before nearing his eye and slowly moving into his iris. Blinding one eye he continued to scream. His eyes started to sway as he continued to struggle out.
"Look at me! Look at me, you fucking dickhead! Look at me! I want my face ingrained into your head as the last thing you see!" I spat, now with the knife, I started to viciously butcher him as my blade sunk into his flesh for the last time this time instead of the whimpers of pain it was instead replaced with a thud as his head smacked on top the floor lifelessly.
Taking off my shades I stood up tired, blood leaking from my open wounds. Ripping a piece of cloth, I bandaged it tightening it as I groaned in pain. While it was not a permanent recovery it would do for now. I was going to die anyway.
Looking around the battlefield I smiled. Bodies littered the floor in all directions and in the distance was a semi-small projectile launched from a ship. My end was coming. Putting on my shades I stared intently at the wave before. Donning my infamous smile. I stood up still proud at where I stood. I had won. Although people would not know my victory At least he would know. Hearing buzzing noises from my pocket I pulled it out.

"I hope you know what you're doing," The voice spat quietly the voice slowly fading. The sound of muffled sniffles replacing the person's anger.
"Nathan this was going to happen one day," I replied still seeing the ever-growing projectile falling. I knew I was not making it out of here. No vehicles were seen, and the only form communication was through this phone but the only person who would help me was on the line right now. He was not someone I wanted to pull into this life. He far away from this massacre. The body's just clumped together here on the field with blood sprayed all over the place like liquor.
"Vex you stupid, we could have solved it another way. We could've changed them through words, not violence!" The voice argued the noise of shattering glass coming from the phone.
"Oh, come on Nathan Talking didn't help anyone. Inspiring brainwashed minds would have done nothing! A bullet to the head and knife to the stomach would send a better message. You should know this better than anyone. Everything eventually ends with a bang," I replied my voice fading as the small projectile slowly fell. Its impact nearing.
*Thoom*
"Make sure to have a shower now and then, you stink bum and brush your teeth… I know we had our differences, but I do not regret a single thing. If I were to do this all again, I would take it without hesitation. Stay safe brother and have a good life," I lamented my voice fading before my body being blasted back as flames incinerated me whole as the surrounding area was engulfed in flames and radiation.

Awoken I looked around to find myself in a room in pure white. Strange it was, before a man who seemed delighted at seeing me, he sat maliciously twirling the pen in front of him. Was I reincarnated and sold to a perverted man whose weird fetish is a young handsome man? Maybe not but why was I here.
"Welcome Vex to my domain it's nice to finally meet you," The spoke as he creepily slides three cards onto the desk with anticipation.

"Before you ask questions have you read isekai novels?" The man questioned awaiting my response. His fingers tapping on the desk in some sort of melody as he stared me down which for some reason sent shivers down my spine. It was a feeling I had not felt in a long time.
"A little just before things went south," I replied.
"So, then you should know where you are and why you are here," The man stated.
"So, you're a higher entity and wish to use me as some sort of entertainment," I responded.
"Yes, and no, we work for those higher being me being's one would be some sort of overstatement though to compare me and you would be an understatement. you see this is where you go if you do not truly believe in God and haven't done anything per se bad. my friend has been looking after my dog and he kind of was not paying attention to it and it destroyed a couple of worlds as well as biting someone's nether region. We had an argument and are now doing a bet. You will be involved in that bet. That is all you need to know. Now flip the cards and see what you get," He explained before leaning back on his chair.
"I wasn't really religious but wouldn't killing Millions by my own hand be counted as evil?" I questioned one eyebrow raised as I asked.
"Well, I kind of cheated you see. I needed someone with killing experience and well most people who come here aren't really in that sort of profession you see. So, I stole your soul from the void." He snickered. Looking down at the desk I smiled as well. I was only here to fulfill a bet and if he had not saved me, oh well. A second chance is a second chance.
Hovering my hands over the cards I breathed in and out slowly before flipping all three at the same time, seeing the cards I saw one blank, one with a face of a robot with a skull as fo head, the word Revenant under it though the look on the man's face only looked disappointed. The last was a man with harked eyes the name Dracule Mihawk under it.
"How interesting you seem to have acquired quite the pull, Now because I cheated for your memories, we are going to have to skip over the memory erasure. Now to where you are going… Because I cheated for your memories you do not get to know where you're going… Good luck, He smiled before booting me out as my vision started to slowly fade.
"You don't have to worry about me. Thank you for this chance, sir, before I go may I know your name?" I asked as my right side of my body started to disappear.
"My name huh," The man replied looking up.
"We beings don't really have a name, but you can call me Bob." The man smiled before I closed my eyes and disappeared.
***
"So, you have chosen your champion?" A man asked as he twirled around his chair playing with a three-headed dog with a unicorn horn protruding on their heads.
"Yes, and you? You've been taking quite a while." Bob questioned pissed off as he tapped his shoe.
"I know you cheated Bob," The man chuckled.
"I know and so did you, can't believe you gave yours that ability," The man shot back.
"I guess it's only fair since we both cheated," The man snickered over the phone.
"Can I have my dog back?" Bob asked.
"No," was all the man stated before hanging up. Bob's face darkened as he slowly sat down.
"I'm going to kill that guy one day," He muttered before waiting for the next poor soul to arrive.

They wait in corners, watching intently. The world harbors much more than meets the blind eye. Do not fret, though. Simply take the syringe. Hold your breath. Close your eyes. Ocean Attuned - A timeloop LitRPG
In the mids of industrialization, Liana, a girl of almost twelve, awakens her flow and follows her newly awakened calling, the ocean, and thus the path of the last remaining god. With the advent of industry, one's status and the accompanying skills slowly grow to be secondary as people choose more recreational skills and classes. The clear exception are flow bringers. Humans with an increased affinity towards flow and attunements are the only real remnants of the age of gods and mysticism. Terrors on the battlefield, saints in hospitals, saviours during drought, are just some examples of the wonderous abilities they display. As civilization grows less dangerous so does the stress that is often associated with the awakening of the flow reduce and only the real talents remain. Please be aware that this is a first draft at best. Tag/Genre analysis: Action: A theme that will appear in the story at some point (probably 15+ chapters in) Adventure: Yes Fantasy: Yes Magic, Beasts, and other fantastical elements are totally at home here. Tragedy: Life is not always fun. For what is fun when there are no downsides. I don't know how heavily I am going to lean into this genre. I want to but don't expect too much. Loop: Yes, though I will not divulge anything else. Just be aware that there isn't nearly as much looping as in MoL for example. Female Lead: Yes, Liana is female. Dungeon: Yes, there are dungeons. Yes, they will get explored. LitRPG: Yes, read the first chapter if you want an example. Magic: most definitely because who doesn't like calling lighting down from the heavens. (Disclaimer: No actual lightning will be called down from the heavens) Mythos: There are gods. So maybe, I don't know if that is enough to qualify? Progression: yes Slice of Life: There is plot, and the story will mostly be about that plot, but there will also be downtime because there can't always be action. The first "loop" especially the first 20-30 chapters will be heavily SoL. And afterward there will be a lot less. Profanity: The ocean (see title) includes sailors and we all know how the stereotypical sailor is. Gore: Hmmm, some but I will have it be not graphic at all.
