“So this is my limit, huh?”
After attaining 32 meridians, Andariel discovered that he couldn’t go on, that this was as far as he could go. And since he had no chance to open another door, he therefore had no choice but to go back. Two hours had gone past since Andariel broke through the meridian leading to his heart. Now, he had opened the 5 meridians that were connected to his most vital internal organs, as well as all of those leading to his limbs and 23 normal meridians.
Together, the five vital and the four limb meridians are 9 meridians, signifying the nine cycles of rebirth and nine circles of death. The other 23 were only able to increase his training efficiency while not meditating, or able to supplement energy recovery in battle. They were smaller and thinner than these 9 he had opened.

The five vital + four limbs = The nine meridians of highest importance
Sighing for his inability to open more of them, Andariel exited his DanTian. His master sat behind him, face flushed red, the old wrinkled face sweaty.
“Hehe, good job. Congratulations for becoming a second stager!” old man Meng’s face broke out in a smile.
“Thank you, master.” Andariel cupped his hands, “Never would I have done it without you.”
“Haha, stop with the formalities. You could have done it easily even without me.” old man Meng laughed, “But never did I think that you would open 32 of them in your first try, you never fail to surprise.”
“First try?”
“Yes.” old man Meng answered, “One has three times to try. Each stage of the gather realm is divided into three tiers; bottom, middle, top. When trying to break through to the second from first stage, one uses up his or her first chance. And if one succeeds with opening at least one meridian, one will become a second stager. Then as one progresses, one will have two more chances at middle and top tier.

Go to the hot springs and recover your energy. Once you are done, I shall teach you how to apply your domain, and impart you a new mantra.”
“Yes, master.”
Minuets later, Andariel lay floating in the water of a hotspring. His fingers covered his face from the warm, shining rays of the sun. it was as if he had been born anew. He could hold his breath for over ten minutes without moving, and overall, his body felt stronger, and his mind more serene. And as he lay there, unmoving and peaceful, he slowly entered the world of dreams.
…
Tall mountain with snowy peaks piercing through the white, fluffy clouds. The blue sky was nearly blotted out by these clouds, and only some sun rays could get through. Below, the color of green surrounded the small strips of blue containing fresh water. It was truly a marvelous sight to behold.
On the tallest of these mountains, Andariel lay still, eyes closed.
“Boy, open your eyes.”
Disrupted in his sleep, Andariel slowly opened his eyes and released a long yawn. But once he looked around, he couldn’t dare to believe his eyes.
The sight was incredible beautiful. The color of white surrounded him from every direction, and the cold, frosty air made it even more real.
“Ahhh!”
Andariel’s eyes instantly expanded, his face becoming pale with fright. In front of him, there was a weird, horse like creature staring at him. It had the body of a horse, but its head was adorned with horns, whiskers protruding from its face. It also had tail from all the colors of the rainbow.
“I have been waiting to meet you, Andariel.” The creature spoke, its eyes were profound. It reminded him of tale of dragons and other ancient beasts.
He slowly backed away, “How do you know my name?”
The whiskers of the creature waffled as it laughed, “You will know the answers when you are ready for them. Don’t worry, I am no enemy of yours.”
Regretfully, the time we have to speak is little. Therefore, I shall do what I came to do. ” The creature said, and a faint blue light converging around it.

The faint blue light shot up into the air. Then, like a lightning bolt, fell down on Andariel and lifted him up in the air.
“Andariel, do not misuse this power.”
“Boom!”
…
“Where am I?"
Andariel woke up, his head felt extremely heavy, as if he had been sleeping for several days without waking up. The last thing he remembered was lying here floating. Everything happening after was blank.
Day had turned night, and stars illuminated the land. It was a rather cool and refreshing night, the lukewarm breezes made his long black hair move.
Seeing that he was still floating around, he ascertained his current condition. There was nothing wrong with his body, it was even a bit more powerful than prior. It was most likely the residual effects of breaking through to the second stage.
His DanTian was refilled with energy, so he quickly got dressed and went back to old man Meng. The old man stood with his hands behind his back, and had clearly been waiting for his disciple for a while.
“Sorry, master.” Andariel cupped his hands, “I somehow fell asleep.”
“Andariel, catch.”
“Eh?” He caught the book his master threw to him. Reading the title, he knew that it was the new mantra promised to him.
Heaven Inferno Vortex.
Just by reading the name, he understood that this was a very powerful mantra.
“This is a high tier mantra I found while excavating a cave here on the island. Even if you compare it to the top mantras of the Sen clan, it should not lose out in the slightest.” his master explained.
“Master… I can't..” Andariel now understood the book’s value, “I can’t accept this, it’s too valuable.”
“Look up.” old man Meng smiled and pointed to the clouds, “how far do you want to reach in your life? What are your dreams? You told me before becoming my disciple that you wanted power. Here I am giving it to you, and you don’t accept it?”
“Sorry, master.” Andariel faltered and accepted the book.
Old man Meng urged for his disciple to come closer, “I shall now teach you how to execute power exertion, to create your own domain. The strenght of one’s domain is equivalent to the quality and quantity of one’s energy, as well as one’s heart of martial hearts.”
The man flicked his fingers, causing a tree behind Andariel to explode, “And if one reaches a high enough expertise regarding domains, one can do this. I bet you thought this was a cool technique when I showed you this a month ago, am I right?
Andariel nodded.
“This, in turn.”
Andariel felt his body being lifted up in the air by an unknown force. He saw the grass below him slowly becoming smaller as he flew higher up in the sky.
“Can give birth to the ability to control almost everything inside one’s domain. Of course, if another cultivator with a domain is present, it won’t be that easy.
Old man meng released Andariel, letting him fall to the ground.
"Ouch!"
“I have a fire domain. This type is the strongest offensively, but doesn’t have too much defensive power. To awaken your domain, you have to close your eyes and imagine yourself being able to see all around you even without vision. Now you try."
“Okay, I will try my best.”
Seeing that his master was finished explaining, Andariel closed his eyes and did as his master told him to. He tried to imagine the grassy ground where he stood, the trees blowing in the wind and the blue sky above him.
He lost sense of time, it felt so good to just stand there and be connected to nature. After a while, he opened his eyes only to see his master’s jaw nearly falling to the ground, his eyes wide open, pupils slightly trembling.
“You… h-how can you have two domains...?”

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
