《Thirsty for Blood》The little kid called Dueper

I could feel it, that feeling that rushes to my blood whenever I neglect it. I feel scared, the fear of coming of that going back to me, I never liked this feeling I probably never would. This thing is icky, slimy for all I know it’s filled with blood, it’s haunting, creeps up to me going to my head please go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away go away Go aWaY Go aWaY Go aWaY Go aWaY Go aWaY GO ThE fUcK AwAY
The brown wooden ceiling, that’s the first thing I see the moment I wake up, feeling
sweaty all over my body, and that dream. I didn't have this dream for a while recently, seems it comes back to haunt me again. Can't believe I got to deal with this shit again. I stood up from my bed and proceeded to wear my clothing and leather armor. Opening the door I knew I needed to hurry.
This inn may be the only inn hidden in this town, its name is Vraky and it is only known to a few people, myself included. This inn is a 2-story building and is located around the unknown district of Winstow and its only entrance is a backdoor with a password to boot with it. Vraky specializes in making people hidden disclosing any information about its patrons and such.
I actually don't know how this inn actually survived for the past couple of years even when I use this inn daily my place of comfort. Sometimes it makes me wonder really, maybe it goes tax free? No matter I need to hurry before this feeling comes back again, the world might be in danger if I let this be. My life will be in danger if I let this be in the first place.

I go down the stairs hurriedly and pay my respects to the innkeeper Nalin, who's cleaning the floor as of the moment. He takes a glance at me and resumes his cleaning. I go outside the inn and see the scenery in front of me. Buildings with unknown origins, desolate streets with no signs of life, this district might as well be called a dead district.
Slums wouldn't even go near this place due to the superstitions that there are Zokun lying around here, and in my all time here I can't say that they're wrong about that. I had some run-ins with some goblins or big rats here and there but nothing too strong for me. As for the reasons why the garrison didn't deal with this I do not know.
Nearing the end of the district I encountered a little boy with a height around my hips probably with an age of 5 roaming around. He’s looking at the ground as if he's searching for something. I walked up to him saying it in my most gentle voice.
“Boy this is no place for you, this is a dangerous place and if I were you I’d leave right now.”
“But mister, I need to find my sword.” He replied back.
“What kind of sword is it then?” I do know that I need to hurry right now and pretend that I didn’t see this. But kids, kids just radiate that type of feeling you can’t find anywhere, that feeling of happiness really. Screw it I just need to make sure I can restrain it before I leave Winstow.
“It's a wooden sword this long and a scabbard like this.” he's trying to imagine it and tries to make an image of it. It seems like a common toy sword you'd find anywhere really, it'll be an easy find in these parts.
“Wait here kid, I'm going to let a friend of mine search for it.” I touch my ring in my right ring finger, I try to focus my thought on the wolf my ancestors have made a pact with, a familiar from the spirit realm that aids my family throughout the ages.

The magic aura around me begins to feel dense and a portal appears in front of me with a wolf head popping out of the portal and said with its tongue out.
“It's been a few months since you called for me Santi”.
The boy is shocked the moment it speaks. I try calming him down by patting Arn in the head indicating that it's fine.
“Look Arn I know that you feel it right now but that’s not the case.” I hesitantly reply.
“I just need something found for this boy beside me.”
Arn, the spirit familiar wolf who is tall as my stomach and huge enough to be called a Zokun with a fur that's red as blood and, gets out of the portal and says.
“Look Santi, you could've done that yourself without bringing the trouble of summoning me”.
“But you're the better tracker here unless you want to stick with the boy while I search for it besides,” I whisper to him. “I need to hurry before it comes”.
“Yes Yes Santi I know how much you hated this, don’t worry I’ll do it in the fastest way possible”. He replied back to me unwillingly.
“Anyway what does the boy need?” Arn stares to the boy as if to ask him. I motion the boy to say it.
He describes the wooden sword the same way he did earlier with me.
“It'll take me 3 minutes for me to find this sword of yours by the way, what's your name boy?” Arn asks the kid.
“It's Dueper sir Wolf”.
“Then Dueper stay here with Santi it'll be quick I promise.”
Arn quickly vanishes into the streets leaving me with Dueper.
As fast as 3 minutes came by Dueper and I just patiently waited for Arn to come back with the wooden sword. And sure enough he came back with the wooden sword like a dog with a stick. Dueper runs to him while shouting.
“It's my sword sir wolf.” Taking it off his mouth and embracing the sword he said to Arn. “Thank you sir wolf” he turns to me and also says “And thank you mister for bringing sir wolf to find my sword.”
“It's no big deal but next time don't lose it in a place like this, now go back to where you came from and don’t try going back here again.” I reply back to him.
“I won't forget about you mister.” As soon as he said that he goes running back to the district beside here. Arn looks at me with worry and the words from his mouth come out.
“Santi you’d better hurry if I were you. I know how much you hated this in the first place.” He paused for a bit and said “I’m just worried about you.”
“Arn thank you for caring about me after all these years.”
“Santi it’s my duty as your familiar, besides I’m sorry to remind you but you got a day at most before that curse of yours gets out of control.”
“I know I know it’s just that I hate that feeling every time it comes back to haunt me.”
“Shush now Santi, we’d better get to that guild of yours before the day passes.”
“I guess so Arn, I just wished this curse never existed in the first place."
He goes invisible as he walks around, fading into nothing. I proceed to walk towards the mercenary guild, and possibly to death if I'm not careful
