《Adventuring in the cultivation world》Chapter 6 Requirements

“So this is the third level of initial elemental qi. Not bad. It seems that less impurities were expelled this time.” Martin said as he pinched his nose.
After taking a bath, he changed his clothes and went to see Jefferey. With an amused smile on his face, Jefferey said
“I see that you broke through. Could it be that you made up your mind to beat up this mortal old man to escape your dept?”. His voice quaked toward the end to express his fear. If one didn’t look at his eyes that had narrowed into slits from amusement, they might have been fooled.
Martin felt his eye twitch and thought to himself ‘mortal old man?! Peh! Have you no shame bullying the young?’ (peh- spitting sound).
Of course he didn’t have the guts to anger this old man could very well be a foundation establishment expert, so he said,
“Of course not senior. Not mentioning the fact that you saved my life, as an upright man I should always repay my debts.”.
“Eh? How boring. So you have decided to work here until you repay your dept?”
‘What do you mean by ‘boring’? So you really wanted to bully me?’ He really felt like crying but didn’t dare.
“Yes, so I would like to know how the wages are set and how long I’d have to work for.”
“One low rank spit beast per month. Since it is a fairly easy job of carrying plates and taking orders we can’t pay too much. It is mandatory you stay here since you might run away without me knowing. The room rent is also 1 spirit stone per month.”
“Could it be that you want me to work here until I die?” Martin couldn’t help but complain. To which Jefferey just shrugged his shoulders and expressed that it was fair pricing.

After haggling to no avail, he asked if he was allowed to hunt for monster beast meat and cores. Jefferey said he was allowed but only rank 2 monster beasts above.
[Pricing
Low level rank 2 core- half a spirit stone
Low level rank 2 carcass (well preserved)- fifth of a spirit stone
Mid level rank 2 core- one spirit stone
Mid level rank 2 carcass (well preserved)- half a spirit stone
High level rank 2 core- two spirit stones
High level rank 2 carcass- one spirit stone]
With the memory of Martin being chased into a sorry state by a beetle, Jefferey was confident that he would have him working here for a long time.
As they finished their their discussion, Martin was hit by a sudden thought and blurted it out,
“Aren’t you afraid I would claim to hunt then run away in secret?”
“As long as you are in 500km of me you can catch a little fellow like you at any time. Even if you go beyond there is still no hope.” Jefferey said nonchalantly.
‘Then why do you have to stay in the restaurant and pay rent?!’
Jefferey quickly noticed that he made a blunder and switched to his old sage mode, “kgmm, Quickly change into your waiter uniform and go open the door, its almost noon”
Martin sent a glare before begrudgingly following orders.
…
The uniform consisted of a white shirt, a black tie, black pants, socks, shoes, and a black waistcoat. The clothes were made out of a material he had never seen, but his intuition told him it was was very precious.
Although the clothes were light they gave him a feeling that there were as steady as a mountain. He felt that if he went all out trying to destroy them he wouldn't even scratch them.

'I definitely have to steal a set when I’m done working here' he thought to himself before he changed into them. The clothes were a bit big in the beginning, but the clothes changed to fit his size perfectly a few seconds later.
With eyes as large as saucers. Clicking his tongue in wonder he he silently exclaimed to himself, ‘Are these clothes actually a magic artifact?! Just how rich and bored does someone have to be to make waiter uniform artifacts?’.
Martin had heard about a lot of fantasy-like things, but when then they happen to him he really felt like his world view was being challenged, and it wasn’t a bad feeling at all. Didn’t he go out adventuring to encounter such things?
With a small smile hanging on his lips, he strode towards the door.
‘Its a real pity that I can’t send my spiritual qi out of my body, otherwise I would have loved to see what else these clothes can do.’ he silently lamented.
When Jeffery saw Martin in his uniform he couldn’t help but nod in appreciation.
His hair which had been hacked by the tiger beetle, was now uniform, and glowing with faint spirituality. His skin which had expelled impurities during cultivation, was so smooth it would make many mortal women go red eyed with envy. Although he was not the most handsome, his looks were definitely above average.
‘Now all we lack is a waitress.’ Jefferey thought as he stroked his goatee.
“Place this sign outside after you open the door.” Jefferey solemnly said as he handed Martin a wooden sign with beautiful calligraphy on it. Martin simply nodded and did as he was told.
When he opened the main the main door Martin was surprised to find out that the restaurant was actually in the middle of what seemed to be a lake. Although it wasn’t anything too surprising he still found it quite novel.
Looking around he found that the lake had a weird shade which felt somewhat familiar but he couldn’t put his finger on it since he couldn't really see the whole shape. He looked past the lake, and saw that after a few hundred meters of open land, the surroundings were covered by trees.
‘It seems like we are in the middle of a forest. How exactly does he plan on getting customers in the middle of nowhere?’ Martin couldn’t help but wonder.
After looking for a bit he took a look at the wooden sign he was tasked with placing outside,

World Master
Hey! I once lived on your world back in 2056. But that was a long time ago and there’s probably no records of my existence. Or, maybe, I haven’t even been born yet… …I’m still figuring out of the timelines correspond. Anyways, I was or will be, or whatever you want to call it (maybe I am?), John Pitcher, a resident at St. Jude’s Hospital for the Mentally Ill. I was a computer programmer and my parents had me admitted there because I was convinced that I had been contacted by Set, the Egyptian god of chaos, about creating a world. Well, apparently, I’m something akin to the great times a hundred grandson of over 10 000 gods, and they didn’t want me to live an ordinary, dull life (well, except for the god of normalcy, but he doesn’t count). Set gave me three years to prepare myself. This begins right at the end of those three years. [participant in the NaNoWriMo Royal Road challenge] I originally had this as part of the prologue, then I realized that it made a better synopsis. Please note: this might seem a bit clunky because I haven't done a lot of writing, and this is supposed to be a kind of prequel to another story that I plan on doing in the future. I will not be fully explaining everything but instead will be explaining things in that other story. This is mainly to help fill in the lore of the world so that people will have at least a basic idea of how things function. Regardless of that, that story won't be written for at least another year, so deal with it. Note: I am using ideas from several different authors in order to make sure that this can be a proper story. You may or may not recognize where I got them. I am not writing a Fanfiction and do not claim these as my own. I will add to a list of titles below as I find myself using those ideas. World Keeper (obviously) The Wandering Inn The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound (not yet, but eventually) A bunch of others that I haven't thought of yet
