Kai, finally feeling full after what seemed like forever, was happy to be able to finally be able to concentrate on different things she was ignoring. Sitting down with her back against the flat rock, she lazily pulled her pack towards her sluggish body and started to search for a few items that were buried somewhere in there.

“Ahh Hah! Found it. Now this is gonna make things a little easier.”

What was pulled from the pack were four pneumatic caster wheels, shock absorbing with ball bearings to provide smooth effortless rolling on the terrain. The four expensive wheels were chosen out of many cheaper verities for its tough thick rubber that claimed to resist wear and tear and obvious punctures. Kai needed this for hand-carting her supplies everywhere, like a merchant.

The wheels were then placed on the underbelly of the toboggin, the pre-drilled holes lined up with the wheels, bolts and nuts pushed through and hand tightened to keep everything in place. She nodded in approval as she placed it back on the ground and sat on it, testing the glide by placing her weight in the middle as a gauge. It was the evolution of her handcart and it was necessary to start its infancy of modifications with bringing the modern wheels. Kai wanted to build railings to prevent anything from falling out and needed to figure out a better pull system besides the rope.

Kai wanted to spend a little time whittling down some easy tools in the grove and settled on flipping through the few guides she brought until she came upon one with an easy visual step on making disposable cooking cutlery.

She needed to fashion a stirring spoon scoop first and foremost, looking at the cooling broth from the meal earlier. That delicious liquid was indeed amazing. She needed to scoop the broth easily to her bowl and mouth, thus needing a multi-purpose spoon- type scoop.

In the pack, there was a few new tools packed for crafting items. She fished those out of the pack that was on the cart with her and lazily wheeled herself back to the flat rock, laying out the tools in orderly fashion. A small fine mesh bag was also pulled out to collect the potential sawdust and trimmings off her crafting so she can utilize the dry material later for a fire starter.

She started to get to work after she took a few minutes to walk through the bamboo grove and locate a few proper sized specimens that would contribute to her crafting cause.

Kai fished out her little journal and decided to sketch out her thoughts, as there was a lot spinning around in her mind.

First, were the simple items needed to craft in this world to make her living situation a little easier. She made notes on the verities of items that she may need to make to continue her stay here, from simple gathering baskets to carriable shelter frames.

Secondly, she needed to ideally harvest the bounty in this place and decide a method of storage that was suitable to her traveling style. If she could craft some form of carriers, preservative methods, and lightweight structures that could assist her in the future.

With the vast knowledge in the little handbooks and her quick wit, she knew she could do these things in a timely manner. She did not travel far but knew that preparation was key on survivalist-mode.

She stopped writing in the little notebook and gave a moment to pause. Hmmm, I think this place is ideal, but I can’t stay here for too long. I really need to figure out more about this world so Kapt’n can return to his clan and we can go back. I don’t wait to sit still in one spot and get comfortable. Nothing will come to us; we should go to look.

Kai’s thoughts seemed transmitted to the other two, as Mao seemed to slowly open his eyes and gaze at her from half-open sleepy pupils. She did not mean to disrupt him, but it seemed as though he caught whiff of her thoughts and seemed to want to add a thought to quell her internal strife.

“Mrrr, Kai, it is okayymm. One paw at a time… Either we go, or they find us. We are in their territory…”

Mao trailed off mid-sentence, succumbing to sleep under a shady area within a soft grassy patch.

He was right. She needed to focus on one goal at a time, no matter how small it will be. First off, inspect the area and determine the bounty and what was available to gather without destroying the ecosystem. This was suitable as it aligned with her interests on the landscape.

“Hey, Mao, can you lend me Kappie for a bit? I need to borrow him while I would like for you to keep an eye on our stuff.” Mao lazily flicked his tail in acceptance as Kai simply walked up and gently pulled the medallions chain up and over his ears.

Go easy on me, Kapt’n joked as kai gently held the medallion in her palm.

Right now, Kai wanted to scope out the terrain and understand a bit of Kapt’n and his past. Any information was better then none, and in this case, Kai needed to make the best usage of her time here. According to her digital watch, it hasn’t even been 6 hours however she felt time went by very slowly. Maybe it was due to her momentary hunger pains earlier that made her feel like time flew by slowly as she was cooking.

Kai smiled and stretched out, bringing her notebook and pencil, ready to walk around the area with Kappie, the medallion, and ask him a multitude of questions, specifically the flora she was curious about like that strange tree.

She immediately started heading in the direction of the mysterious tree with the holographic fruit, holding the medallion gently on her palm. Soon enough, she got to the tree and stopped in front of the strange mysterious tree, holding the ancient-looking jewel encrusted gold medallion up like if it was an eye inspecting the different angles of the tree.

Kai felt the medallion start to shake a little in her hand and a slight warmth coming off of it, progressively get more and more intense with each second.

I… I can’t believe it!!! REALLY? This is HERE! What is THIS? Do you know what you just found?

Kapt’n seemed progressively excited and she did not know what to make of it. “What is it?” she asked, trying to keep calm, not knowing what she really discovered.

This is …
