《Horror Bites》From Siberia with Love

“Man, she’s hot,” said Dimitri as the two men placed the body on the table. He grinned, his breath misting in the sub-zero air of the research base’s walk in freezer, “I mean yeah, she’s clearly neanderthal, but then I’ve always had a bit of a thing for she-hulk.”
“Did anyone ever tell you you’re a pervert Dim?” said Markov, “It’s bad enough you spend conferences hitting on everything that moves, but eyeing up some long dead cavewoman is a bit far.”
“It’s not my fault this damn blizzard’s cut our comms. I only brought so many dirty movies with me; in the absence of internet man’s imagination is apt to wander.” He shrugged, “So anyway, you’re telling me you wouldn’t? ”
“Dim, I’m a fucking scientist and she’s a fucking frozen corpse we found half exposed in the permafrost! She may as well be a wooly mammoth for all I care. Tomorrow we’re going to study her, write it all up, and submit it to our bosses like good little boys. Besides,” he said, tracing his heavily gloved fingers across the woman’s body, “There’s something off about her. These marks at her wrists and ankles, it’s almost like she was bound before she froze. And her skin, her face, I don’t know…”
“Prude, she’s definitely visiting my thoughts tonight. Ah, did I ever tell you about lucid dreaming?”
“Oh just shut up Dim, let’s go before you say anything else to give me nightmares.”

A slender figure stood framed in the doorway of Dimitri’s room. In the half-light Dim looked down at his watch, focusing himself. Then he smiled, “I’ve been expecting you. Come in.” He patted the mattress beside him. The figure shuffled into the room, and moved toward the bed, groaning softly. Dim lay back, already aroused. The figure dragged itself onto the bed and Dim reached up, taking her in his arms, feeling her flesh under his hands. She was cold. And that smell… no matter, he could change that with a thought. It was his dream after all.

“Ow!” That hurt, what was she doing? “Ow, fuck!” This wasn’t right. Dim pinched himself, telling his brain to wake up. This wasn’t a good dream. He pinched again. He was still pinching himself when her teeth finally found his jugular vein, cutting through the flesh like knives, her ragged mouth gulping down the torrent of blood. It mean he didn’t scream, didn’t wake Markov. His fatty meat was eaten quickly, his body stripped to the bone. It was tasty, as far as the creature’s limited awareness allowed for such concepts. But one meal was hardly going to satisfy the hunger of millenia.

No More Respawns
Synopsis: The first time Allen died, he was forced back into a living hell where death is temporary, and power is all that matters. With evil and depravity as the rule, tragedy becomes comedy and life becomes an act. Only a deal with a shady god can get him back to his old life, but what happens if there’s nothing left to save? Maybe hell isn’t so bad if you have infinite lives… until you don’t. Needless to say, it’s all fun and games until there’s no more respawns. Foreword: This story is meant primarily as an action adventure and secondarily as a dark and nihilistic comedy. It may not be readily apparent in the beginning, but that's what I have planned (I feel the need to emphasize the dark; don’t rage at me if it gets too ‘traumatizing’ or something). I’m going to take my time with this, so it won’t immediately inundate you with doom and gloom. This is also a comedy, remember? On that note, if for some cursed reason you just can't handle either the references or the jokes, I am willing to battle in the comments. Anyway, I still put a significant amount of effort into the system, so I hope you enjoy that part. It is a little bulky, I'll admit to that, but I wanted to try something new and its more fun when there's more depth to it. Regardless, I still have a lot of fun doing math in the middle of writing a fictional story (/s). I also want to see if I can keep from messing up the pacing. Many times, I end up going too fast because I'm afraid of the story getting boring, which tends to ironically have the opposite effect. I'm still learning I suppose; we'll see how things go. Lastly, please leave reviews and comments, they really mean a lot to me and (usually) help me improve considerably. I'll be asking for feedback in the polls and I do still check the old ones from time to time. Notes: The story takes a bit of time to develop; give it time if you're here for drama, grimdark, or antihero. The system is all blue boxes and I'm not half-assing the numbers. Chapters will be between 1k and 2k words usually. I always use the oxford coma, fight me. Might drop if rating falls below 4 stars, idk. It depends on how my life is going. The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.

Psycho Space
At the Academy they teach us how to fight. How to adapt and survive in the society. And how to kill when necessary, to protect our brothers and sisters. I have always found the last part most enjoyable. But now we are lost. Is there a way for us to go Home? There must be. God help whoever tries to stop us. For the glory of our Lord! For the Brotherhood! SLAUGHTER THEM! In short: cold bloded killers + aliens = space opera (mostly)
