《Gangs From Another World》Chapter 16 - From Pawn to Knight

As soon as that question left me, I received another random thought, and before I could say something out loud, or mentally, my mother appeared before me.
Tears uncontrollably streamed from my face as I rushed to hug her. She patted me on the back of the head and all my fear, anger and rage left.
“There there lil’ Knight, it’s ok.” she said.
The realities of the ghetto didn’t feel so bad. She rubbed my back as she continued to embrace me.
“Mom, please,” I pleaded “Never leave me again. I need you! Anna needs you!”
My dad snapped his fingers breaking the spell.
“SON! Turn off your Attention Deficit Disorder and pay attention for five minutes. You can’t live here, your body would wither and die,” he snapped back.
My mom spoke up, “Lil’ Knight, if you don’ go back who will take care of Anna?”
I nodded in agreement, they were both correct.
“OF course we are correct, we went through the same thing when we lost our loved ones,” my dad replied, and mom smiling back at me.
“B-b-b-but can I come..come back right?” I asked expecting them to say no.
Arise, young Knight!
“Uh yeah,” my father said. “Wait, before you go, son FYI, about that Knight thing, you might want to look into that. I think it’s still valid. Check with the Royal Court of Records, not the Common Court of Records. We also own land, at least we should.”
“What? How did this even happen?” I asked, sounding excited and frustrated at the same time.
“Right, here’s the short version, before I left the Inquisitional Purification Bureau, Section 777 I think it was called, the team I was with saved the life of a Count and his family. So he knighted me and gave me some land. It’s more of an honorary title that anything else.” He oh-so casually said.

Before I could ask him for more details he punched me in the stomach.
My body felt weightless as I began to float up. Darkness surrounded me and slowly closed in. I quickly opened my eyes and saw Anna looking down on me. She was holding me on her knees. Her face was soft like mom and still wet from crying.
I reached up to touch her, to wipe the tears away. She took my hand with hers.
“You stupid trog, you scared the shit out of me” she whispered back.

Chasing The Master
Zhang Cai, named Zhang by the streets and Cai by his master, embarks on a long and meaningful quest after his master's shadow to learn more about the world and himself, both as a human and as a cultivator. Another story I had in mind for sometime. I've been trying my hands at many different genres and art mediums, so this is my serious attempt to culminate the wisdom of them all into something that I can say I need to do. Please do enjoy. The Rowan Fox, Tail 1: The Missing Children
Deep in the Maple Woods sits a mountain of old. Humans have claimed it and today a city called Redlog covers it from peak to foot. Meet Josei, one of many medicine makers living in the city of red roofs. Hers is the start of many tales, home to a very special fox. Like foxes often do, this one finds himself plenty of trouble. (Thought I would be gone forever did you? I'm back again! This time with a book that actually has an ending. I know because I've written it. I will be editing each chapter then releasing it here as they're done, probably once or twice a week. It's a shorter tale than what I've written before but that was the goal from the start. I really need to learn how to finish a story so this was a big accomplishment for me. I'll be writing The Rowan Fox in several parts instead, short but hopefully sweet.) (This story is a combination of some of my favorite things: folktales, foxes, ancient forests, and feel good slice of life. I hope you like it!)

The Rising Fist Saga (Progression Fantasy)
There is one rule in the countless worlds of cultivation, no matter the gods, monsters, or people. Death is power. The name is Bones. That's it. Just Bones. It's not great, but I give my summoner some slack. He is missing some memories. It's a long story. Vampires, betrayal, forbidden love, dragons, swords, magic, monsters, witches, probably some death, and all the other good stuff. Or at least we think so. As I said, he has no memory. His backstory could be anything. Anyway, my nameless summoner struggles to survive in the wild—until I come along. I am the new boss now. With me in charge, we have a fighting chance at this thing called life.

Cinder Roots (Undergoing a Rewrite)
This novel is currently undergoing a major rewrite, as I noticed several plot points that needed to be revamped. I'll leave the chapters I've posted here to anyone curious to see how everything started, but I'll be posting the rewritten story as a new novel in the future. The characters will be the same, but the journey will be more understandable and hopefully, a lot more fun to read. -------- First, everything was fire, it killed, it consumed, and it gave him life. He was just a tree, born in the biggest forest that remained in the world, full of dryads, naiads, elves and treants, but he was alone. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t talk. Curiosity plagued him. He dreamed of wandering the land, but could only wonder what stood outside the reach of his roots. The tree was tired of waiting. He decided to not just dream, but to act. How could he survive against a invading empire, a grand conspiracy that threatened to shake the foundations of the world, and the raw danger that lies within these woods? With pure determination. Warning - There are quite a few POV changes in the first chapters, but that'll change after the introduction is done, as I'll be focusing on the MC perspective only.
