《Ignore this》Fired but its fine.

I stare at the documents the messenger presented to me and then look solemnly in the mirror. Me, the great Zakary Ulage of the magic tower, is fired? This can’t possibly be true. I've made so many contributions to the tower. I may not be the smartest or the strongest, but they can’t do this to me! I'm more furious than sad now, I’ll show them, I will become better than any one of these idiots. I will become the tower master!
I'm losing my composure, this isn’t like me. They always do something like this for a reason. Making an appeal would be of no use. I’ll be fine outside the tower working out in the capital. I'm alright at enchantments, maybe I could help out a smithy. This whole ordeal makes me feel useless though, despite knowing it's better for me and the tower, they always make the right decision. I just wish I knew why.
It doesn’t matter. The tower master and I were good friends when we were kids. It's fine. I forgive him. Maybe my place just isn’t here. For some reason I feel good about this in a way. Like a chance to get away from studies and boring things inside the tower. My emotions sway too much. Angry at first, but happy now? What am I? It's funny. I don’t have too much here anyways, so I might as well leave soon. I'm a little old so I might as well take time to travel.
Wow, all I have is just a backpack of belongings and this old sword. It’s all I really need, my books and something to help with casting. I'm going to leave all my research here. Douglass might look through them and maybe I can feel accomplished then. Hopefully he finds my documents of magical compatibility. Though in theory it's possible, everyone told me it wasn’t. Just maybe they can research more into it.

Goodbye big bro. I'm going to become great, just you see. I'm gonna make you glad you sent me out, I'm gonna do something that will make you proud. But now that I’m out of the tower, where do I start? I never really venture out often, maybe to get something at the bakery from Ash. What a pretty girl, I wish I were younger.
Maybe getting some proper supplies first. How much would I need to visit Wyndmoore? I've always wanted to go there, such a sandy place, but very beautiful. It's about fifty leagues from here, so I will be making a lot of stops, but it will be a very fun journey. I heard they recently found an Outer who's an artificer, so that will be exciting to see.
The fresh air outside of the tower is nice and It feels like I can breathe easily again, no more pressure of having to research. Still, I'm disappointed in being kicked out, but new things await.

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
