《The Demon King And The Fifth Hero (악마 왕과 다섯 번째 영웅)》Chapter Five- Kimura (Part 2)

(Kimura's flashback)
About a year ago, this old hut you see was very lively, you would see a long queue of adventurers wanting to buy and order their weapons from here. Some waited for days just to get their weapon upgraded. Well for me, business was good and i was gaining a name for the best blacksmith in all of Oshiro kingdom. In a few days, i was going to be awarded with the title of ‘National Blacksmith’ by the king but it all went down the drain when he brought his sword.
One day just when the business was okay and I was busy returning the upgraded weapons to their owners, a man wearing a black mask came in through that door and showed me a broken sword. This sword was nothing like the swords I have ever seen. It had these strange steel that made it heavy but easier to cut through any objects. It was dark purple in color and had a golden hilt to its end. It was truly remarkable to find such a sword in Oshiro. But it was broken from its tip to the bracket in half. It was quite a pain to see such a beautiful sword injured.
He said that this sword was given to his father by his grandfather and later after his death, it was given to him.
That man was really weird too. He was tall and had a deep voice enough to sound manly. He never let go of his mask so I could never see his face.
After taking his sword in my hand, i was feeling doubtful if I would be able to fix it. This sword was every different than any other. It not only looked unique but it was unique.
I asked him to come after a month after accepting the fix request, even though i wasn’t sure, no blacksmith would leave a sword in pain for long.

I tried everything I could to fix it. I even tried the third tier steel to fix it together but every time I had to heat it up and cool it down, it broke. Just at that time, I had heard about the fourth tier steel that was new among all the blacksmiths.
This steel had purely the components of dark magic, something that normal blacksmiths would have only dream about.
I wanted to try this new steel but since it was new and not everyone new the what this steel was, it was hard to find. But I managed to get my hand on these for a good price.
After getting this steel, i worked day and night on the sword. This new steel was easy to handle to get in shape and would easily blend with other steel.
In a month, the sword was made and it looked good as new. The dark purple blended quite well with the new black steel. We blacksmiths called it black steel after it’s color.
That man came to take his sword after a month. He was still wearing the mask. He looked like he was in a hurry, he came, paid for the sword and left without testing it even though I warned him to do so.
Later a month, we heard rumors about a new beast called Kuddle that lived behind the dark forest in a rocky mountain and a lot of adventurers were killed in the hunting. That week, there was one survivor in that hunting party.
He was crying as he was brought to our medic. He had these eyes that was scared as hell, he looked like he had no soul and he was shouting and screaming in pain.
We went to see this young man after he was being taken under the care of the medic. He was murmuring about a dark colored dog and how it was going to kill him and then he sees me and starting getting out of control.

“You killed us! If only you took your job seriously!”
I was confused and so were the villagers. The villagers tried to calm him down and send me outside the medic. In a while, one of the villagers comes outside and punches me on the face.
I was pushed back because i was still scared and confused after what I heard and now it was this.
The man, before dying said that the purple sword that I fixed killed them. The sword broke and they were defenseless. The man, the owner of the sword was their leader and the only one strong enough to kill it.
I couldn’t believe what I heard and I was blamed for not fixing the sword with care. Later, they brought the sword to the village and that made an evidence for my carelessness. I had nothing to do but to accept the guilt.
But one thing I was sure of seeing the sword was that it wasn’t the same sword. I tried to explain it to the court but due to the lack of information on this new steel, my plead was canceled. I wasn’t punished but this incident changed my life for forever.
Adventurers started to boycott my workshop and I went out of business. It was a good thing that i stored enough gold before going out of business.
And now you see why my workshop looks like an old shabby hut. The pain of losing respect is undefinable.
There are very little people who trust my work and come here once or twice a month.

Project G00
|Nanopunk |Crafting | Detailed Science and experiments | Inner thoughts | Bio-Robots | Evolution | Infodumps | Tell not Show | Insane to Sane | Slow and Detailed Pace | Puddle to Unknown | Artificial Intelligence | Trans-humanism | Bad Jokes | Moving 'Dungeon' Core | Hi! I am G00. I am a project made by some weirdo. Some may refer to me as the wobbly thing in the fridge or the slimy thing in the ceiling. Others might tell you about that sticky thing inside your nose. In the end, they called me the Seed of Life, yet didn’t tell me what I was supposed to become. Furthermore, it just happens that this stage was the most miserable place to reincarnate... Reincarnate as in… What the hell did I become?! (Whispers) You are a puddle. A puddle? (Whispers) Yes. C’mon little guy, say your lines! You’re live right now! Welcome to puddle-springs aka the afterlife of a puddle. CUT! Eh? Why?! No edition or photoshop needed?! We’re short on puddle-staff. The camera is broken, I am broken, and you are broken. Wait! How can a puddle be broken? You are not a puddle, you are frozen yogurt. NOOOOOOOOOO! Additional summary: Spoiler: Spoiler Humanity has finally made the second step towards space. Many developments were taking place at the time this happened. All of them accomplished thanks to nanotechnology. Inventions regarding Artificial Intelligence and nanorobotics created the opportunity, a way to terraform planets by sending nanorobots to space. Their orders? Colonizing and preparing the new worlds before humanity's arrival, aka terraforming. Meet G00, a weird agglomeration of nanomachines. A bit stupid, but it's not because he was like that. The little guy... 'He' is really broken. The hardest start of a story is when language is oddly misunderstood, when you know nothing of the place you just arrived; when your companion is a buggy system, and when you have to repair yourself with whatever trash you can scavenge from your surroundings. All of this while you fight your worst enemy: potatoes? What will you do in an unfamiliar circumstance where nothing is what it seems and where you won't even understand the boring ramblings of a confused main character? Well, patience will... probably have a reward? Additional tags and disclaimers: Read before starting the story: Harem: Not included for the moment, depends on characters added, votes by readers, and things that happen on the go. Magic: Far away chapters maybe... as part of high level or non-understandable things by science. Slice of life: Probably some parts will include it. Disclaimer #1: Crazy amount of content about high-tech info-dumps, slow pace, starts with biology and nanotechnology. Might have some weird jokes and puns. Game bugs are also possible. Disclaimer #2: No puddles were harmed during the making of this story. No character is real, no real puddle was used as part of the cast. Character is stupid at the start on purpose but he will get beta and beta. All written content follows a logical approach no matter how stupid it appears to be, maybe… Because it’s just a raccoon splashing some cotton-candy over a puddle after it was thrown. Yup, a bully raccoon with rabies or so it seems.

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
