The sun was setting upon the Capitoline, when a knock was heard upon Randall’s office door, and when he opened it, Daniel and Scott entered. Although the former was his usual cool, emotionless self, the latter was clearly shaken.
“Randall, we’ve got a huge problem!” Scott exclaimed, his orange hair even more spiky and uncombed from agitation.
“I am sorry for the interruption, sir, but Mr. Johnson requested to see you immediately, even before Miss Dawn returned from her meeting,” Daniel apologized.
“What is it, Scott?” Randall sighed. “I am rather busy…”
“The two strangers that disrupted the Plaza and that I apprehended…”
“What about them? You know that I do not care for such trivial issues. That is why you are here,” Randall impatiently dismissed, returning to his desk in a manner that suggested he didn’t want any further interruption.
“They are M.U.T.s, Randall!” Scott quickly hissed, in an undeniable hateful fashion. “Not only that, but they’ve returned this afternoon!”
Randall stopped in his tracks, and he slowly turned to the young man, a flicker of fear making his way to his cold icy eyes. His heart started to race with this new emotion, but more importantly, this new event. Daniel looked puzzled at his two bosses’ agitation over such a simple word.
“What did you say?!” Randall hissed, walking to Scott and towering him, indicating he wouldn’t take well to a possible prank.
“I checked with our superiors, Randall,” Scott defended himself. “There is no denying it, nor any mistake. The strangers, two siblings, are M.U.T.s. And they’re unto us, unto our plan. This is a dangerous and unexpected variable!”
“Maybe they have only appeared here by mistake, it often happened in the past...” Randall tried to reason, his mind racing for a counter-attack to this new threat.

“I told you, they’ve reappeared this afternoon, and once more started out toward the Capitoline,” Scott hissed, angry at such doubts to his news. “They also knew how it worked; when I apprehended them, the male stranger deliberately disappeared in front of my eyes, not simply by shock or instinct.”
Randall nervously paced his office, his icy eyes deeply lost in thoughts. He finally spoke:
“We need to find Ysadora. She needs to know about this new threat, and we have to devise a plan against it.”
“Has she not contacted you, sir?” Daniel asked.
“Yes, about an hour ago. She announced that her mission went well, and the doubtful investors were now on our side. But she requested the evening off, to which I agreed, she deserved it...” Randall replied blankly, still deep in thought.
“Do I also warn Mr. Solomon and President Bohm of this disruption, sir?” Daniel inquired.
“Certainly not; Bohm has no knowledge of his true role in our plans, nor our plan’s true purpose, and it must remain that way. As for Abraham, we must still test him further.”
“Then, sir, I will track Miss Dawn’s phone, to warn her,” Daniel suggested.
“Good idea,” and upon Randall’s approval, Daniel left the office.
“You know what it means if there are M.U.T.s at this stage...” Scott hissed to Randall.
“Yes. We need to advance the plan much faster than I anticipated, and you and Ysadora will need to take care of this threat while I take care of the rest,” Randall ordered.

8 236The Final Dream
This is a D&D style Choose Your Own Adventure story focusing on you (an investigator for the Order of Chaos) as you try and uncover a serial killer within the city of Alderbrand. Your failure could doom the very world itself. This story will continue for the next writathon, I'm putting away time to write for it during the next one. I am sorry that work got the better of me during this one.

He doesn't know how he got here, and while the trappings are familiar, he doesn't actually know where he is, either. From the perspective of those around him, Duromar is a half-ogre barbarian, an uncivilized brute by any standard you care to use. But from his perspective, he's a character created in a gaming system. From either one, he must live within the rules of that system. This is the story of a gamer who ends up in a game that's just a bit off from what he knows. ---- I wanted to write something a little bit old-school. Most of the LitRPG I've found seems to be based on computer RPG styled stories. Progression through levels is fast, and depending on the game, skills and even attributes can be trained with or without class levels. This wasn't true with the older pen and paper games, and that's the style of leveling I wanted to write.
8 189The Prince of Lies

On the far side of the last river, where the waves lap against the cruel cliffs of Eda, there are worse things than passing in your sleep. Sabar must survive. To survive this strange hell, and walk between the dreams, he must become something else. If he does it - if he returns with a taste of the dream - he will turn the world upside down all over again
8 77The Untitled
It isn't often we mention names. The greatest royalty, the most-skilled hunters, and often even the people we know best in the world, we know them all by their titles. Names are private, personal, sacred. This you must understand before you hear the story of The Untitled. Because to hear their story is to hear their names; the names of Legends. ---------------------------------- Based on the Monster Hunter series by Capcom. Part 2 coming to a webpage near you... soon-ish. Question mark.
