《Monarch of the Darkness》C8. Scheme

The scene smelled blood, but Hayden looked unperturbed. Eyes of Darkness made him felt more composed. He didn't enjoy killing, but after he watched these people tortured his men, it made him realized that these kinds of people were not worth pitying. He also realized that strength was an essential asset in this world.
The strong could do anything, and the weak would get humiliated. Therefore Hayden felt more motivated to become stronger.
"Arrrrrghhh!!! Fuck you, I will kill you and then cut you into pieces." swore the bald guy hoarsely. Suddenly his eyes turned gold. The bald guy body grew larger while earth Arte started to cover his entire skin. He looked bulky like a giant that could cause an earthquake every time he moves.
Hayden realized that the bald guy had lost his mind and went into a berserk state. The fight could get more dangerous if it went on. Therefore he needed to plan something as soon as possible. After Hayden calculated various possibilities, he decided to use all of his reserved mana in one strike, hoping that it would penetrate directly through the bald guy's armor.
Nevarth gritted his teeth, wanting to intervene. However, after he saw Hayden's unyielding eyes, he decided not to stop him. He wanted to see Hayden's limit.
Hayden started to condense all of his reserved mana on his palm, Nevarth was surprised because at the moment Hayden's aura exceeded its limit and was equivalent to the top of 4-star Origin realm. He thought that it was rare to see a mere 3-star Origin realm that could emit such a thick aura.
"Baldie, I admire your fighting spirit. Come, let's end this now," said Hayden as he charged forward.
"Roarrrrrr," the soundwave from the bald guy made Hayden felt like there was a mountain fall on him. However, Hayden gritted his teeth and immediately cast Dark Movement, trying to close the gap between them.

Hayden reappeared in front of the bald guy and punched straight towards his abdomen, where the center of Arte usually located. The bald guy was aware of his move and quickly made a squeezing motion towards Hayden, trying to turn him into mush. Hayden struggled as he sensed the force coming to him from two directions, he urgently activated the wall of darkness, but Hayden realized that it wasn't enough, he started to bleed as the force was too destructive.
"Damn it, Break!!!" roared Hayden furiously.
As Hayden started bleeding, Nevarth knew that this time he needed to intervene or else something unexpected would happen and it would be dangerous for the second prince. He waved his right hand and then started chanting a spell. While he was chanting incantations, one could notice some circles of light with many strange patterns slowly emerged from Nevarth surroundings.
"Light's Embrace," shouted Nevarth solemnly.
Suddenly, light Arte covered Hayden. He realized that his power grew stronger, and his injury slowly began to heal. He couldn't waste this opportunity. Therefore he condensed Arte to his left hand and punched straight to the place he had hit before.
"Crackkk..." The bald guy's armor cracked, and the punch went through his abdomen, blowing him away to a Tree. The impact of Hayden's punch penetrated straight towards the center of the Arte in his abdomen, destroying it instantly.
After his Arte got crippled, the bald men started getting conscious and realized that he had lost all of his power.
"Noooo my power, gone it's all gone," the bald guy felt desperate because his cultivation was ruined, alas, he had lost everything including his comrades because of his foolishness.
Hayden glanced towards Nevarth and thanked him. He owed him for saving his life, and also his interest was getting piqued because he had never thought that Nevarth was so strong. The first time he met him, he couldn't sense his Arte rank. The only thing that Hayden felt as he got to know him was that Nevarth looked like an ordinary man, but he has a mysterious aura on him. However, Hayden didn't let his curiosity taken over him because he needed to finish his job first. Therefore, he calmed down and walked slowly towards the bald guy.

The bald guy was terrified, but what can he do? He was a useless piece of trash right now, and he couldn't do anything. He could only watch Hayden came and resigned to his fate.
"Baldie, tell me who sent you here, and what do they want from me?" Asked Hayden angrily. The bald guy stared at him dully.
At first, he wasn't willing to tell him anything. But afterward, he sighed while thinking, so what if I keep being faithful to 'him', I have lost all of my comrades and I can't even escape. murmured him silently.
"Alright prince, I was sent here by..." As he wanted to tell Hayden something, the bald guy suddenly paled and spat some blood, not long after he fell to the ground, lifeless.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???
Its been ten years since Seth was given his powers, ten years since his town was driven mad by that very same power, and ten years since its source was shunted into his head. A species of energy beings, a people filled with regret for what their entrance onto this world caused. Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
