《Monarch of the Darkness》C2. Situation

"This... Is this really me? What the fuck is happening?" He was stupefied. All of the things that happened before were nothing compared to this.
Hayden touched his face. He looked handsome as he had short black hair with sharp eyebrows above his eyes. His facial structure was quite perfect, accompanied by a bit sharp jaw below his lips. In Hayden's eyes, one can see that he got a dark-brown pupil, but if one looks for too long, one can feel that there were some black layers on his pupil as if there was a black hole in it, making people feel hard to read about what he thinks in his mind.
An idea suddenly popped out from his head. He thought that he was reborn in another person's body. Well, whatever he felt blessed!! As he got his normal-looking face back on earth got replaced by such handsomeness.
Hayden felt happy inside. However, there was one other thing that was bothering him right now. He was wondering why he couldn't remember anything about the previous owner of the body's memories.
Time passed slowly while he was thinking, but it was no use. He couldn't remember a single thing.
As he was lost in thought, suddenly someone opened the door without knocking.
"H-Hayden? You've woken up! Thank goodness I was anxious about you!" Shouted a deep and old voice.
Hayden was startled and then stared at the person who came inside. He tried to keep calm but he couldn't because it was the first time he met someone in this new place.
Hayden was also afraid that this person doesn't understand what he wanted to say, therefore he felt a bit awkward.
"Eh..., hello Mister, you are?" Spoke Hayden politely.
Actually, deep inside Hayden was also quite relieved when he heard the old man called his name. Now he knew for sure that the previous owner of this body also got the same name as him. This was more than enough for him because it would definitely make his life a bit easier as he gets to know more people.

After hearing what Hayden had said. The old man was astonished as he realized that the young prince whom he knew didn't recognize him. Shortly afterward, he was suddenly lost in thought.
When the old man was thinking, Hayden stared at the old man in front of him. He was around 50 year old with a mature yet dignified appearance. His hair was white, short but tidy, accompanied by a pair of wise eyes. He also got a long sharp nose and a long white mustache beneath his nose. The most eye-catching thing was his appearance. It reminded Hayden of the butler character from the earth.
After some time, the old man clenched his right hand and then started speaking as he tried to suppress his emotion.
"Young Master, I am Nevarth, the head of the servant of the second prince mansion. I am the one who always takes care of your daily necessities and also the one who manages your mansion." Explained the old man slowly.
Hayden listened slowly, and shortly afterward, he was astonished.
"You said 'your' mansion? Uh, you mean my mansion? Does it mean that I was the second prince?" Asked Hayden in disbelief.
"Indeed, you are the second prince of Zenith kingdom."
Hayden was astounded, without a doubt, what a complicated situation. Not only was he being transferred to this world without warning, but also he got a new high position right now. A prince!! What a noble title. Before, he was only a university student with a monotonous routine and struggling life, but right now, he was a prince of the kingdom of Zenith. One can't even imagine how lucky he was.
Hayden remembered the time when he was still a university student back then on earth. He was already 20 year old and when he tried to recall clearly about his past, Hayden sighed because nothing interesting had happened before. Life in the university was monotonous and boring, plus the lesson given by the professor was so hard like hell. Therefore, he got nothing to do besides study every day. Well, he was a bit lucky that his comprehension was high but still in the university it didn't help much. Finally, now he got a chance to start a new life. Hayden felt excited and will definitely use this chance well!

Hayden smiled thinly, not long after he started thinking about the purpose of the one who sent him here. Time flows, but after that he sighed.
"Well, this is my new life right now, instead of worrying about useless things why don't I just accept and live as what I wanted to be in this new world," murmured Hayden. He stopped thinking and then started looking at Nevarth, who waited patiently in front of him. "Mister Nevarth, I understand the situation right now, everything will be alright, you don't need to worry too much about me," claimed Hayden.
Nevarth hesitated, but he realized that it was better not to force many kinds of things in a single moment. Therefore he sighed as he tried to calm down. After some time, he suddenly remembered something.
"Young master, her highness the princess told me that if you have woken up, I need to bring you to her immediately," spoke Nevarth politely.
"My sister..." Without overthinking, Hayden nodded and said. "Alright, lead the way."

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
