《The Parasite in Cultivator World》Chapter 13: Fight with the Black Wolf
Advertisement
“You need to calm down. Something is wrong with this wolf.” - Parasite was trying to understand why the wolf was feeling so angry.
Yu Min and the parasite begin to analyse the situation. Zhe Li lost his consciousness, probably from the huge pain, and as well his shoulders were bleeding. At the same time Zhe Di was standing still. He was standing in the same place while he was paralysed with fear. Yu Min could see terror on the face of Zhe Di. Due to this Yu Min and Parasite understood that he would not be very helpful as well. But when they checked Black Wolf they saw that it was as well not in a good condition. Yu Min's punch could injure Black Wolf so much. He remembered that when he punched the wolf he saw small stains of blood on the Wolf fur and as well he could see that Wolf was covered in many small bites. Additionally, Parasite was feeling not only aggression, but also small notes of despair. While the wolf was turning to Yu Min his breath was very heavy. Wolf was gathering his last strength to attack Yu Min. Wolf knew that Yu Min was the strongest among all disciples.
Parasite and Yu Min understood that the wolf was attacking not because he wanted to, but due to the fact that with cultivators blood and meat it could recover his strength and get rid of Spine Snake poison. Many small stains and bites were left by Spine Snake bites and their poison was already affecting Wolf. And if it does not find energy to bite the poison in its blood he would die. And he was lucky to find three disciples on the edge of the woods.
Current situation was very dangerous for Yu Min. Solely he would not be able to bite the Black Woolf. However, this Woolf didn’t have much strength left and if Yu Min would be able to win only if this fight will be long enough so Woolf would die from poison. However, it was not very easy. Parasite was trying to suppress Yu Min's emotions as much as possible, but fear was still leaking. Which means that Yu Min can’t fight in his best condition. This was a life and death situation and Yu Min knew that there are no Elder or Inner Disciple who can help him now and it was obvious that in such a condition any Disciple would be very terrified.

Yu Min was able to dodge the first attack because he didn’t understand what happened. And his punch was just a reaction for the attack due to this it worked. But now when he saw that his punch didn’t really cause much injuries for the Woolf and Zhe Li who was unlucky is now lying in his blood which is soaking from the shoulder. Parasite was able to suppress the emotions, but it doesn’t mean that it was able to suppress all of it. For instance, if Parasite would tell a person to jump from the hill, the person would not do this while instincts would not allow it.
The Black Wolf attack was impetuous. In the beginning it tried to bite Yu Min, but when Yu Min Dodge that wolf quickly tried to get him with its claws. Both times Yu Min dodge those attacks at the last moment. But Yu Min didn’t have time to relax. Wolf already was attacking one more time with his claws. That forced Yu Min to jump into the air and make use of it by trying to get a disciple in the air. If Yu Min didn’t learn how to use Wind Step in the air he would die already. But it saved his life and he was able to partially dodge that attack. In order to fully dodge it Yu Min used his crushing fist and hit the wolf's paw. Strength of the paw was much bigger than the strength of the crushing fist due to which Yu Min was thrown back. But still it was better than to get wounds from wolf claws which he would get if he didn’t use a crushing fist.
In order to not bump into earth Yu Min used Wind Step one more time. Due to this Yu Min didn’t get any injuries when he got on the ground. However, the wolf was already running into his direction. Due to this Yu Min was running in the opposite direction in order to prolong the fight. He was using full power to make a distance, but woolf was fast enough and just in 5 minutes he caught up with Yu Min.

Parasite was feeling that Yu Min began to feel desperate, but he used it for its benefit. - “It wants to kill you. You can’t run away. It is faster. But you can win if you fight it. You can survive if you kill it.”
Thus Yu Min didn’t have much choice but to take a fight. He saw that the wolf was already on his last breath, he was not so fast any more and due to this Yu Min made up his mind to attack. After the next attack from the wolf Yu Min used Wind step to dodge that and then used it one more time to put all the weight of his body multiplied by energy of crushing fist to punch in the Wolf's head. It was still not the ideal punch but the wolf has fallen.
The Black Wolf couldn’t stand up. It was still growling, but it was becoming less and less loud until it didn’t stop. Yu Min didn’t get to the wolf while Parasite was not giving him permission. Parasite was still filling the emotions of the fallen wolf.
“What are you doing here? I said that you should stay together and not move anywhere.” - it was the Inner Disciple, who was carrying Zhe Fa on his shoulders. But when he saw the body of the wolf he was surprised for a moment. But then he quickly takes his emotions under control. - “Never mind, we should leave as quickly as possible”
“Vu Rai, but shouldn’t we take a wolf with us?“ - asked Yu Min
“Don’t bother about this” - Vu Raj has directed his hand at the world and then his ring has sucked in the wolf's body. - “Let’s not waste any more time” - and then Inner Disciple quickly runs into the direction where he left Yu Min and two brothers. But the speed was much slower so Yu Min could keep up.
When they reached the place they found that Zhe Di had already bandaged his brother and gave blood recovery pills to Zhe Li. But still it seemed not enough. Zle Li was very pale. Due to this. Zhe Di asked for some more pills and the inner disciple answered: “Yu Min can you give yours. I used mine for the Zhe Fa.”
Yu Min obeyed the command and gave all his pills to Zhe Li. As soon as Zhe Li began to show signs of recovery Inner Disciple command to get to the camp. Yu Min helped Zhe Di to transport Zhe Li to the camp while Zhe Fa was taken by Vu Rai.
In the camp Yu Min told Vu Rai what happened to him. And Vu Rai talled why it took so long to get back. Apparently Zhe Fa was attacked by many Spine Snakes at the same time. When Vu Rai got to him he was required to get through many snakes and when he took Zhe Fa it was even harder to get out from there while he was required to defend Zhe Fa as well.
Vu Rai shared his thoughts with all. He was thinking that Spine Snakes had migrated and a potentially new Spine Snake Queen appeared. Due to this they have faced so many of them on the edge of the woods. As well it explains why there was a single wolf. Potentially the whole pack was attacked by Spine Snakes and this one the only one which could get out from the ambush. Yu Min was very lucky, because if it was just one wolf without any injuries Yu Min would die. And Yu Min understood why it was recommended to fight with wolves only in teams of 4 when cultivators on QI Formation realm. And even such a tactic could be dangerous.

Summoned against his will to a world of swords and magic, an engineering student struggles to find a way home under the shadow of a world devouring threat. ***************************** Updates: 5/13/19: Revisions to several chapters for clarity, grammar, and style. 4/29/19: A short side story and artwork has been added to the blog. 4/8/19: A Side Story has been updated on my new blog (every writer is required to have one). https://talesfromliahar.wordpress.com/ ***************************** “The summoning scenarios are broken down into groups of ten.” Emi Ito stated. “Don’t, don’t you dare say another word.” Muttered Genzo Uchida. His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region

To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!

The Book of Hickory
Now why did Hickory go and punch that Angel? Sure it spooked him, popping up right there at lunch, and yet, it wasn't fear that balled his hand into a fist - Cause wouldn't you? Wouldn't anyone - with a sick Ma at home, Da long dead, buried, all them prayers piling up on bruised knees, unanswered? Hickory was angry, all right. He was fierce, now - cause that Angel didn't show up to give no help, that Angel came by asking for it - with all that power just plain to see, the power to fix the world and all that ails it! And now look what poor Hickory has to do - to save the world? Now how is he supposed to do that when its taking near everything he's got - just to keep them chickens safe, Ma fed, and himself out of trouble - All he wanted was maybe just a dance with May, maybe a bit more, to hold her close? That she's sweet, now, a voice like an angel, but now she's over there lookin at him like he's more than a man. And that's not to say Hickory is bad, not all the time, not ever on purpose - just there are things a man has to - That drinking and fighting ain't wrong just as long as the chores are done proper first, that those parts of life that make it worth living ain't no sin, that loving a lady is proper and Hickory just has so much love to give! And May is special, right, sweet and soft, now she's sophisticated. That she wears her passion like a pearl necklace? That certainly Hickory would notice, naturally - that she's already spoken for, perhaps taken? That ever since Hickory came back, that all she can think about is swallowing - those strange feelings, because it wouldn't do, would it? For a Lady? But certainly she can worship him and still be seen with Weston Covanger? Because Weston needs May, that what happens in the Study is only half the battle, the Men's Business, and he's far too proud to settle for half of anything. That if he wants to move up the ranks of his family, to be more than a Covanger, to become the Covanger? He's going to need a woman in the Kitchen as well - he's going to need May. And if that seems a bit old fashioned? A bit too much like the Wild West? Well the West is starting to get wild again now that everyone starts to Drink. A different take on LitRPG where answers aren't given - they must be earned, discovered and fought for, one at a time. An orator style, a long read, filled with magic buildings, crafting, alchemy, but most of all - This is a story about the human spirit. About understanding what defines a person, their morals, their beliefs, and also faith when everything they understand becomes challenged - changed. So do they. People can change. They will. Just not always for the better, not always - sometimes. Sometimes that's enough. Sometimes that's even everything.
