《The Parasite in Cultivator World》Chapter 9: Training and Learning (½)

First technique on which Yu Min was working was “Wind Step” and how to combine it with “Crushing Fist”. He quickly learned the first stage, while he already mastered the “Crushing Fist” technique. Due to this he didn’t have problems manipulating energy in his body. However, with the second stage it was much harder. Everything was related to the amount of energy the cultivator has.
If Yu Min would use “Crushing Fist” with Full Power he could do only 30 such punches. On level 5 he could do only 10 such punches. So with level 7 he had 3 times more energy than on level 5. In 4 months he was able to achieve level 8 and due to this he could do 10 more punches. But the difference was as well in how quickly he can gather new energy. Each level after 5ths was like a small battery. And any cultivator could restore each battery separately. In other words, cultivators on level 9 could restore energy 5 times faster than cultivators on 5ths level. A cultivator on 5th level would need to spend half a day to restore full energy without meditation. While level 9 disciple would need only 2 hours to recover the same amount of energy as level 5. The mediation as well as QI Restoration pills can decrease restoration time 2 times. So in total it is possible to decrease that time 4 times if Mediation and Pills would be used in combination.
Getting back to the “Wind Step” technique, if a disciple uses the first stage it would take 2 times less energy as for “Crushing Fist” at full power. But the second stage was already using 2 times more energy than “Crushing Fist” at full power. This was due to the fact that energy was not concentrated in one place, but it was required to release energy in several places at once to push off the wind. And such calculations were true only if the disciple is utilising this technique perfectly. Due to this, almost all students could use this technique less often. Parasite was understanding this and due to this it was pushing Yu Min to achieve perfection in it. But the next part was to combine “Wind Step” and “Crushing Fist” which required even more use of energy. On the level 8th Yu Min could do 40 crushing fist, 20 “Wind Steps” stage 2 or if combining those he could do 13-14 combined punches. But even 1 such combined punch could be fatal for his opponent if it is not expected. Mostly students are using “Wind Step” to run away or dodge.

But Yu Min in half a year was able to achieve perfection by using this technique in combination. He spent the whole free time training it. At the current level he was spending 3 hours in mines, 4 hours sleeping and all other time he was spending on training. After Yu Min achieved perfection in this technique he began to learn how to use “Blood Needle”. It was much easier to learn this technique while it didn’t require the combination of different techniques nor concentrating energy in different places. Only one small problem which Yu Min had is to learn how to control blood. And it was a very interesting experience, while he not only understood that this technique could be used for attack, but it as well can be used for the curing himself. It doesn’t mean that it can really cure him, but it was able to stop any types of bleeding, understand if there are any internal injuries which as well affect bleeding in internal organs. It took energy to control it, but it was not so much of a problem in combat. Yu Min and Parasite understood that if his arm is going to be cut off he can quickly stop the bleeding and even if his heart would be targeted until the damage would not totally destroy it Yu Min could continue fighting for some time and could have small chances to survive after that. Due to this it was an additional card in his sleeve.
While technique didn’t take much time to practise, he began to learn the bestiary. In the book which he got from Elder Azai Muboku he found much information which leaves in the dark wood as well as disciples from other sects. About some of the monsters he heard from different people when he was living in the barracks until he became 15 years old. Most people were talking about black wolves which were 2 metre high. And indeed Yu Min found such a wolf in a bestiary on the first page. That monster was one of the most common beasts in the Dark Wood. Only 3-4 students on the QI Formation realm could kill that monster if they fight together, but even that doesn’t guarantee that they will not be injured. As well, wolves were mostly living in packs and due to this all disciples on the QI Formation Realm were advised to run away in such cases.

In the third chapter Yu Min found another very similar snake which was called Quin spiny snake. That snake had similar abilities. Except it could as well shoot with spines and those spines were not only on the tail but everywhere. More spines it had the longer it was living. If the snake was covered in spines from tail to head it was a 1000 years Quin Spiny Snake. Currently in the forest there were seen only several such snakes and all of them were living in their nests. As well as that nest was surrounded by other mail spiny snakes which were defending Quin.
The fourth chapter was showing not a monster, but some type of plant which was living under the ground. And if a person was stepping on it then this disciple was falling into the pit and the plant was closing the entrance. Afterwards it was releasing spines and piercings. As well, spines were poisoned. Due to this in most cases if a disciple were alone they were dying. Only experienced cultivators could notice that plant. In the bestiary this plant was called “Devil Pit”.
On the fifth page and sixth page were Deer and Hare. Those were the least dangerous creatures. However, deers were still dangerous, and could harm disciples. As well, it was not so easy to catch them while those were very quick. In the next sections there was only some information about that deeper in the Dark Wood there could be other creatures, but it was not suggested for QI Subdual realm to go deeper in the woods. Only QI Alteration and Synergy realms could have a chance to survive there. Due to this there was no match information about that.
In the next section Yu Min found information about 3 other sects which were surrounding the Dark Wood. The first sect was called “Sharp Sword” where disciples were learning techniques which required swords. In most cases QI Formation Realm students were not very dangerous for “Dark Sky” disciples. While during QI Formation Realm those were mostly training with the sword and due to this they didn’t really have techniques which could be used. They only could rely on their sword mastery. But in the QI Formation realm there is not much that could be shown by them. However, when they break through to the QI Subdual realm they become very powerful opponents. Good that not so many people are choosing that path. While getting through QI Formation Realm is a very hard challenge for many.
The next sect was called “Abyss Demons”. That sect was very dangerous. Many disciples were using a special body technique which was mutating their body. It was very unpredictable while mutations could be very different from disciple to disciple. In some cases disciples were getting not very useful mutations like changing skin colour or several more fingers. Such disciples were not dangerous. But there were some students which had strange mutations like additional arms, or huge increases in strangeness. But the most dangerous were those who had mutated eyes. The latest one could use mental techniques to hypnotise people or do mental attacks which can kill people instantly. However, the latest ones were very rare.
The last sect which was located near dark wood was called “Wild Hunters”. That sect was mostly using bows and traps to hunt in the Dark Woods. In face to face battle they were not very good. However, if you got in their trap you would mostly always die. In addition, the sect was using a technique which was hiding their aura, scent and event making them partially invisible. Due to this it was recommended to kill them when you see them. If they flee it is better not to run after them because they would lead people into the traps. On the QI Subdual Realm it becomes even worse, while arrows now could be controlled and it becomes very hard to dodge it.
