《Dungeon Core Online: Loremaster (fan fic)》DCO: Loremaster ch 2

Terrance closed the book he was reading and sighed. It has been a full in-game day since he came to the decision of his long term goal, find the lore of the bosses. In fact, many others are much farther ahead of him than he initially thought. Many people love a good story, and he found many who do have recorded several things with their interactions with the first-floor boss.
Old man Jenkins was a farmer in his previous life, before the dungeon, his farm been in his family since it was homesteaded back in the 1800s. Each generation maintaining the traditions of those before. Sure some branched off to do their own thing, but throughout time at least one Jenkins have been working the same farm all that time. Considering automation, and the real world similarities of some of the dug up history, such as the corn plague fifty years ago, the ai must be using some real-life similarities to fill in the lore.
In the end, Old man Jenkins’s background is that he is a mid-west farmer. Not too exciting, truth be told, but Terrance was not going to settle with boring. He could tell the dungeon master ai had plans for this story arc. Why else would he say his last name is Jenkins in the recent dungeon war. So his plan became to find out about the bosses from the horse’s mouth, as it were. If the dungeon ever got a horse boss then it could become quite literal, who knows in the random dungeon.
---------------------
Terrance spent the rest of the night doing research on common pathing for the boss and mobs before the time of immersion ended. The next day went very uneventful and the wait of an in-game day before dungeon diving could start was mostly spent waiting in line and doing a review on his notes on the mobs and pather. Terrance quickly got slotted into an instance where one group was diving into the third level and all but five others were going to the second floor. This allowed a high spawn count for the level 1 players and a modest competition for the level 2 goers.

It took Terrance half an hour for the boss to finally path his direction. When the dungeon first opened the boss would roam completely randomly, but after the war, patterns were recognized. For starter, the boss would often come to the barn or one of the silos to drop off any of the farm’s resources. One of the boss’s quests actually involves defending the silos from players who come to pillage them. After the boss dropped his load into the barn he came back out with his cornhusk pipe in his hand as he puffed on it. Terrance waited for the boss to initiate the conversation. “ A well mannered young man you are. Care to help me on my farm a bit?”
Terrance smiled and nodded happily. The boss then gave Terrance another lookover. “ Not much of a fighter, are you? No matter, take this.”
Quest: Farmhand
Old man Jenkins is in need of a young pair of hands. His back is not what it use to be. Go around and collect resources and return to the barn. (Note: leaving the resources in the barn counts as collecting the resource. Leaving them with Old man Jenkins does not.)

[IMPORTANT] I'm currently placing this novel on an indefinite hiatus. I want to get back to it, but I just don't really have the time. Also, if I do ever get back to writing this, I'll be rewriting the entire story with better planning and plot. You can read what's published if you want. Just know it stops at a pretty awkward place :/ *** What could you do if you found out you could time travel—no catches and no drawbacks?Go back in time to fix a mistake? Pass the night in a second? Run through the finish line as fast as a car?Damien had the ability to do all this and more, but before he could even learn to control this power, he was introduced to the second temporal dimension. Thrown through several worlds of the multiverse, he finds that in reality, anybody could manipulate time. This is the story of a boy from a world where time travel is only a fantasy, the travels of an adventurer who visited thousands of worlds, and the growth of the first being who obtained control of all time.

Sanguine
The Coles are probably the definition of a small dysfunctional family, even if they weren’t the worst in existence; they would probably be lauded as an example of the term. The Coles were a small family though. The father, Oliver Cole, was an asshole ex-football jock who bounced around in small paying jobs after wasting most of his life drinking, drugging and whoring. The daughter, Stacy Cole, was smart, but had many issues including anger, trouble with authority, and occasional suicidal thoughts, and was kicked out of many a school for disruptive behaviour. The son, Mike Cole, was innocent, and tried his best to be kind to anyone and everyone, however his own speech impediment, and slow nature only aided people to bully and belittle him, including his own father. The Coles were indeed a dysfunctional family. At least they were, until they got to the small town near the border between the United States and Canada, Sanguine. Welcome to Sanguine. You will stay. With the exception of the first chapter, each chapter only follows one character. The first chapter is the only chapter in which I will include 'Sides' where it follows a different character. This is a short Lovecraftian story, it won't go above seventeen chapters. Note: the book cover is my first attempt, it might not even remain like it is, I was just tired of seeing the standard 'no cover' thing on it.
