《The Dark Veil》Part 3: October 19

October 19
My knees started to feel weak as the expanse of stone and metal before me that had once was brought a calm relaxing reading space for me and me alone was now one that brought horror and sadness. As I regained my focus I immediately recognized a single person, Nathan.
I don’t really know how I knew it was him, but maybe on the atmosphere around me had made me be able to register it as him, I still don’t understand this ailment I contain completely. Nathan wasn’t sitting there patiently waiting for me to get here, no, he was standing near the edge of the broken piece of fence that the school should have replaced years ago. Broken, rusted and ripped as it was, it could be bypassed fairly easy with little to no effort.
I then made the attempt to lift my leg up and lazily push forward, but they would not respond to my forced attempts. As if they were not my own but someone that is inside forcing me to stay still.
I tried my best to yell out in concern and curiosity, repeating “Nathan, what are you doing? Were supposed to talk remember, even if it’s small, anything.” I then started to sound hysterical at this point; Nathan wouldn’t even look my way.
“We were going to eat lunch and get to know each other better. Get away from there, it’s not safe.” All my efforts seemed in vain. He still faced the edge of the building, teetering on the loose rubble that seemed to not fall, which is good for me, I still have time.
The rubble started to become loose as he rocked back and forth with his left heel trying to jar the cement little by little every second. My legs slowly started to return control to me as I inched ever so slowly toward where Nathan was standing but not too much to spook him and force his hand.

There was one thing that pounded in my head, one simple question, “Why is he doing this? Why is he doing this?”
“Nate, please tell me why you are standing there? Please give me a response, something. A whisper or even a click of the tongue would suffice for giving me a reason to keep calling out besides just to save a friend. I need a response.” I was roughly three-fourth the way to the ledge, but I felt I didn’t quite try hard enough. The next two seconds gave me this impression. The single event that I knew was a possibility but was the worst possible route that I ever would have wanted to happen. Sadly, I got the response I was looking, a quite loud one, but it wasn’t one I wanted to hear.
“You will cause the end,” that was the last thing he said as he gave one last push with his heel against the cement as it gave way. The most unnerving thing about the situation before me was that he was staring directly at me and muttering the last two words of his recent statement, “the end.”
My mind rushed, mainly my thoughts, and all I could do was fall to the ground and feign ignorance.
I didn’t want to be here.
I didn’t wish for this to happen.
I should have just stayed home.

Life in another world with an Immunity System
NOTE: I just finished a large scale editing with the chapters. From now on, the world is no longer a 1000X Earth. I have added my original element. From here on, with a few exceptions, no similarity can be found with our Earth. Thank you. The change has been applied from chapter 1. So if anyone finds any missed places or traces of my previous world-building, please comment and notify me. Andel lived in a world where those with powers will have the final say in everything. In his world, having no aptitude to either magic or Ki means you are even worse than ants. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any aptitude to either. His life should have been hell, but due to being the son of two powerful parents and descendant of a powerful family saved him from a wretched fate. Life was harsh, but Andel wasn’t one to mourn and do nothing. From his childhood, he learned all kinds of close-combat styles and martial arts, proving himself to be a genius at close combat as long as ki isn’t involved. As genius as he was, there was no way he could match those with powers, right? Wrong! Andel had another identity. He was originally a person from Earth who got transmigrated after an accident. Moreover, during his transmigration, he also gained a system that gave him resistance to various things in exchange for experience points. With the Immunity System in hand, Andel decided to finally step into this magical new world and make a name for himself, after spending twenty years in training. Their Wife
Nea Riar, a human, accidentally stumbles upon a portal to another world full of everything she has thought to be a myth. There she meets five men; Fae, Demon, Shifter, Warlock, and Incubus. What these five men have in common is that they are each seen as a threat in a society ruled by matriarchy. In the world of Asorix, Arradona is a Queendom where women are superior. Most are physically closer to the size men, the difference in high not as great, and their magical capabilities are naturally stronger from birth. They dominate and tame men, claiming those they see fit as husbands to add to their growing harems. Those of the upper class compete with one another by comparing the number of husbands they have in their harems, ranging anywhere from the tens to the hundreds, and even a rare few in the thousands. In these lands, five men; Zev Dubois, Cassius Montgomery, Jaxon Novak, Ezra Larsen, and Axel Dimitrov are anomalies. They're stronger than any male that has existed, physically and in terms of magical capabilities. The extent of their power is unknown, but it's speculated that they are more powerful than women also. Their power and wealth has earned them a high status without having to marry a wife to gain it, something that was impossible before them. They are seen as a threat by the Council. In an attempt to control them, the Council orders that they must each take a wife in hopes that she can tame these men who show signs of being dominant. The women of Asorix stumble over one another trying to take at least one of the five as a husband for their harem because of their looks, money, and status in society that would all become their own.During this time the five men come across Damanea, a woman who isn't like the rest. She's the opposite of what women in their world are like. Instead of being dominant, assertive, and abusive, she's meek, cautious, and weak. If you choose to read it, I’m glad, but it’s certainly more written for my own enjoyment than anyone else’s, so… sorry if it’s not for you. With that, do be gracious with me, as well as offer whatever helpful criticisms you might have. I’d be much obliged. Enjoy!
