“Wow, she can lift you?” Hex went for another kill shot.
Allison did a double take. Her mouth was just slightly open and her eyes were angry.
Hex: infinity plus one, Allison: negative one
The bell rang and they all walked to their classes. Scarlet tapped her feet and looked at the clock. Slowly but surely she made her way through the day. When school finally ended she found Athena.
“Hey where’s your brother?” Scarlet ventured.
“He is working on a project and needed the day off.” Said Athena.
“What is it?”
“Don't know. He just said to come over on the fourteenth”
I wonder what he’s planning?
She nodded and walked to find Aurora.
Scarlet found her by the entrance of the school library. “Hey where have you been all day?”
“In class” Said Aurora.
“Why?”
“Because I didn't fill out my calendar”
They walked to Aurora’s house but not before they picked up Hex and Penelope.
“Aurora what does the boy with funny eyes look like?” Penelope asked.
“I'll show you” Said Aurora pulling her phone out. Scarlet looked over at her.
“This is what he looks like”
Penelope went wide-eyed “His eyes are so cool!”
Wait… why does he have a picture of him?
“Why do you have a picture of him?”
“Well umm…”
“And why is he shirtless?”
“Hoe” Hex muttered under her breath.
“What's a hoe?” Asked Penelope.
“It's a girl that, umm. A girl that likes to talk too much” Scarlet attempted to cover up for Hex.
She nodded and they continued eating chips.
“Hello is anyone in their?” Said Morrie.
Scarlet ran to the door and opened it.
“Hey girl what up” Said Scarlet.
“Nothing much just wanted to see if any of you have seen Lucius” Said Morrie in her sleepy tone.
“We haven't but come on in” Said Scarlet.
“Havana probably knows where he is, she is always with him” Said Morrie.
They walked and sat with the group.
“I know this is out of the blue and is going to sound absolutely crazy but Lucius took me to another world” Said Aurora.

“Wow, you let him hit a homerun!?” Said Hex.
“Not like that, I really mean another world” Said Aurora.
“How?” Asked Scarlet.
“Well he had this massive symbol thing on the ground and he somehow got us on another world” Said Aurora.
“Can I go?” Asked Penelope.
“I don't know ask him” Said Aurora.
Scarlet wonder what kind of drug he gave her. She knew drugs were all too easy to find in the Market.
“So homework?” Said Scarlet.
Morrie and Scarlet were the smartest in the group and were done almost immediately. They helped Hex and Aurora finish in just half an hour. They played games and ate food most of the day. When it came to an end, Scarlet walked home with Penelope on her back. She once again avoided any living thing she could. She made it home and got her sister to bed. Her brother was sleeping and so was her mother.
“Just a little work today” Said Scarlet as she washed the dishes.
She also washed what little clothing their was and placed wood in the metal box they called a fireplace. The night got cold even during the spring. She got to bed and wondered what tomorrow would bring. She woke up to a small mouth clamping down on her hand.
“Ow, you little!” Said Scarlet as she began to follow her sister.
“Get me if you can!” Said Penelope.
She ran after her little sister and was able to catch her foot before she slipped through a hole in the wall.
“No!” Said Penelope with joy.
“Got you!” Said Scarlet as she began to tickle Penelope.
They looked at how much they had for the day. They knew it was all they had to get food and water.
“Two Marks” Said Penelope.
“Don't worry I found ten yesterday” Said Scarlet.
They felt like queens with a total of twelve. They walked into the market and looked at what it had to offer. Everything. They looked at hundreds of kinds of food.
“What looks good?” Asked Scarlet.
“Everything” Said Penelope.
They had their eyes on candy. They bought a single lollipop and a chocolate bar. They walked around and saw an enormous man, even bigger than Cona. He seemed lost. He walked around looking at a map with the face of disappointment.

“Excuse me how do you get here” He asked people as they walked by.
His clothes looked expensive and so did his backpack. Scarlet saw a man pickpocket him. Before she could call out what had happened he reached down and crushed the man's hand.
“Oops sorry I only meant to get my wallet back” Said the man.
Wow, he is really freaking strong…
He was possible seven and a half feet tall. The man who had tried to rob him was clasping his shattered hand.
“Hey Mister giant are you lost?” Said Penelope.
“That I am” Said the man.
He had pitch black hair and worn out dark brown eyes. They almost seemed to blend with the pupil.
“Do you girls know how to get to Water street?” Asked the man.
“Yep” Said Penelope.
Scarlet sighed and said “We are headed in that direction anyway so we can just walk you their”.
“Thank you” Said the man.
Scarlett didn’t bother avoiding anyone this time. She had the massive man as a lion to frighten the tiny wolfs that hid nearby.
“Mister giant how old are you?” Asked Penelope.
“Well, I have no idea. I forget.” Said the man.
Scarlet was unable to guess his age. He gave off a vibe that made her think he was old but didn't look the part. He walked right behind then as they guided him to the house.
“Thank you young ladies. For your troubles” Said the man handing them both a sum of cash and a solid gold card.
The card said “Adriel’s Odd jobs service. This card entitles the owner to a gold membership job”.
“It's shiny!” Said Penelope with a smile.
The card must have been made of gold, it felt heavy. Scarlet and Penelope walked hand in hand to Aurora’s house.
“Hey” Said Aurora at the doorstep.
She was standing in the garden her house had.
“What up” Said Penelope.
“Just looking at one of the roses Morrie got from Lucius” Said Aurora.
“Why?” Asked Scarlet.
“That change color, it's really cool.” Said Aurora.
Scarlet walked over with Penelope and looked at the rose.
“Look” Said Aurora as she poked the rose.
It seemed to send a ripple through and left the entire rose a different color.
“Wow” Said Penelope and Scarlet.
“Want something to eat and drink?” Said Aurora walking to the kitchen.
Scarlet made four sandwiches and gave one to Penelope. The phone rang and Aurora walked over.
“Get over her now!,” Said Athena shooting joy through the phone. “My uncle is in town you have to meet him!”.
She seemed to have reached the maximum human level of joy.
“Our address is 321 Water street. I already called everyone else come over quick!!” Said Athena as she hung up.
“Well, want to see why she is so happy?” Asked Aurora.
“No reason not to.” Said Scarlet.
They got up and followed Aurora. They walked to a familiar place and looked at the house. None of them had been to Lucius’s house except for Morrie. Scarlet remembered this is where they had dropped the man off. They walked in and Athena hugged them immediately.
“You're here! you're here! you're here!” Said Athena with utter joy.
Laughter was falling out of the living room. “Come on!” Said Athena. They all walked in and saw something unusual. Lucius was smiling. It seemed like a meaningful smile.
“I remember you” Said the man standing up and walked over to shake their hands.
“My name is Adriel, it's on the cards.” he said as he shook all their hands.
“You're Lucius’s uncle?” Asked Scarlet.
“That I am, and you must be Scarlet, she brought me here,” he turned to Aurora “and you must be Aurora”.
“You showed him how to get here?” Asked Lucius.
“Yeah” Said Penelope.
“I was lost for hours, I wasn't even going in the right district” Said Adriel. He had simple brown eyes that seemed to be from a time when the world was simple.
Lucius walked over and hugged Scarlet.

Three Hundred Years After The End Of The World
Three hundred years after the end of the world as humanity knew it, the gears of an old plan slowly begin to move again, as a group of self-imposed reincarnators, along with their equally unlikely companions, gather once again to set things right... but does the world they plan to restore need, or even want, their help? Follow the misadventures of an eclectic bunch of genius misfits as they attempt to assemble and fix the world they accidentally devastated in the past. ~~~ Author's note: This is actually the first volume of a novel I wrote nearly a decade ago for the VNDB discussion boards, taking inspiration from the random off-topic ramblings that characterized the golden age of the community. After sevear years and countless rewrites, it is pretty much unrecognizable, but while it is not fit for professional publishing (due to the fact that several fragments and older versions are still out there on various forums and blogs), I decided it is a waste to just let it sit idly on my hard drive forever. As such, I decided to share it somewhere where people could maybe appreciate it, so here it is.

Teddy Bear
As it would stand, the truth of the matter was that aliens had visited Earth before. Roswell was neither a hoax nor unique. It was simply a consequence of a world growing smaller as communication systems became more and more advanced, partly a result of said visitations. For the most part, past interactions between one of the planet Earth's more intelligent species of lifeform and the alien visitors were along the lines of obscure scientific surveys and tests disturbingly similar to attempts by some human scientists to estimate the intelligence of simians. For any species capable of travelling the stars. Visiting planet Earth made about as much sense as backpacking through the Ural Mountains of Siberia with nothing but a flint and a compass. That is to say, most people would prefer to stay close to someplace within walking distance of a mall or a population density slightly higher than four sapient beings per parsec. Still, statistically speaking, there are bound to be some weirdos who find joy rides though a nowhere solar system fun. Just buzzing a frantic farmer or two and playing chicken with an F-16 for the heck of it. Maybe even bring home a bovine to show off to the guys at the office.
