《Dream Theater》Chapter 28 Sewers

“Lhyps what passes in your mind” became his only thought when he was nearly totally immersed in the waters of the sewers alone.
His task consisted of finding a group of cultist that prayed together in the sewers...alone, without any kind of reinforcement or help by anyone, and spying on them.
Lhyps had mentioned a promotion of some kind if this task was successful...but most likely they just wanted to get rid of him. Already the water was messing up his circuits and giving him problems. Fortunately enough he was prepared and had brought a little repair kit with him in case the prosthesis gave problems.
He took a turn left, one right, another left and he arrived...no where. The sewers were a maze and some considered the level 0 of the underground. Already when he had entered them people looked at him strangely. People once used to live here a long time ago but since the demons of the core became so aggressive no one dared set foot here. Except for him and some cultists who were probably way more equipped and trained than him if they choose such a location. Why did they gave him a different gun and equipment he would never understand.
He wondered a bit through those halls, some passages were barely walkable, others were large and had sidewalks and others still were totally inaccessible and closed. Sometimes he heard strange sounds from the surface, a train departing, a big machine working, a rat that moved but all those sounds made him even tenser because they covered the noises of the sewers. He already had descended in the core and didn’t want to repeat the experience, this was not the time to fight an Unhelm.
…
If his senses were sharp before, now he was felling asleep. He was hungry, damp, and sleepy. If he encountered a cultist now he would probably fail to shoot.

“Why did they gave me this ‘special’ suit for this operation!” before departing they gave him a special suit that was better suited for this place. Despite this he still had problems walking.
>
He heard voices, a distant sound, a group of men walking. He turned the corner and saw a group of red-cloaked men marching in procession and chanting something. They were all armed in some way, some with pistols, other with rifles, and still other with swords. If he was to attack now he would have been dead.
While he was thinking about what to do a metal cane came pressed against his skull. > a voice said. He slowly turned only to see that two cultists, those too with red robes, had their weapons against his temple. >
Pxan slowly stood up and walked with them. A cultist with a strange mask, one of a deer, greeted him >
Pxan stared at him for some seconds before responding >
>
>
> he held his police ID in his hands.
Pxan looked at himself, they had managed to remove his gun, knives and even his little backpack without him noticing.
