It was late night as Aarock entered into his chambers. As he entered- he saw his wife get up to greet him.

“Hello dear,” Sardis spoke upon sensing Aarock’s presence and lighting a candle with magic.

“I didn’t mean to wake you…” Aarock sighed while setting down the bag. It was already very late at night when he arrived and laid his bag beside the bed.

“pay that no mind, dear,” she responded, “I’m sure you’ve been working very hard for the kingdom," she responded, "I’m glad I was awake to greet you tonight.”

She began to massage his shoulders as he laid down.

“Ah,” he’s finally relaxing. “It’s been a long week.” He spoke sighing.

She just listened quietly then he began to speak.

“It seems things will no longer be as calm as before…” he replied, “we’ll have to restructure our council and arrange a defensive force. There was something suspicious happening in the west.”

“What happened?” she replied.

“Well,” Aarock continued, “Merth subjugated the entire western kingdom with an eerie magic. There was an eerie magic.”

“Well- you put Merth in charge for a reason..”

“Yes, the problem is that it wasn’t his magic. Someone else was in charge of it…”

She listened on.

“I’ll want to look more into it, but I think if we keep the kingdoms in check- it shouldn’t be much of an issue.”

“The Elfa are growing weaker. They no longer fulfill their duties.”

“Whatever you need to do- I will support you,” she spoke.

He knew that it was true. She had a chance to betray him to the elven people once, but chose to stick beside him- and after everything they’d been through- he knew that he could trust her.

“You’re too good for me…” he sighed and leaned back in the bed. “How are the kids handling things in the kingdom?”

“Hm,” Sardis replied as she followed his lead and leaned back against the bed rest. “They seem to be okay. I’ve tried to help them get situated but I’m sure they’ll feel more at ease once they meet with you.”

“I see,” Aarock replied, “Well- that’s something I wanted to do. I’ll check on them tomorrow morning before the meeting with the council members.”

“Okay dear,” Sardis spoke.
