《Romantic Fantasy Adventure of Saint Mom Lily》Chapter 13: New Discovery

“Guts, the goblins are about to breach the defense on the west!” Lily said as she was resting deep inside the barricades.
“I’m on it!” Guts quickly went over to the place where the defense was about to be breached to help out.
As they needed to prepare for an eventual fight against the Goblin Champion, Lily and co only helped out lightly when there was an emergency.
The fight was not going very well.
Although they managed to stop the goblins with the traps and the barricades, their numbers were just too much.
Every few minutes, there was a new casualty on the defender side.
The guards used a combination of long-reached spears and large shields troops to stop the horde, while the adventurers helped out whenever there was a gap.
It was needless to say because the guards were the main defense force, their casualty skyrocketed compared to the adventurers.
The expression on Gin’s face was not good as he gave out commands.
“This is…” Lily began as she looked at the battlefield in front.
“…Much larger stampede than usual, yes.” Rey continued for her.
Raphael and Elvis gulped nervously at Rey’s words.
“W-What should we do? S-Should we help out more?” Elvis asked, concerns written all over his face.
Raphael gripped his shield even harder, preparing for a fight.
Shaking her head, Lily replied, “Probably not. What should be our main concern is the Goblin Champions. We have to save our strength for that, or all is lost. Furthermore, the situation is not the worst just yet. We are barely holding on.”
The other three nodded.
Then the sight of the wounded came into her vision.
“…I will help out with the treatment,” Saying so, Lily walked towards the recently built medical center with the other three following behind her.

“Miss Lily!” One of the staff there bowed when they saw her.
Lily raised her hand to stop them, “just do your duty,” she said.
“Yes,” The bowed staff answered.
“Where do you want me to help?” she asked.
“This way, please!” The staff guided her to a patient.
Without saying another word, Lily used her holy magic, “Middle Heal!”
At that moment, the holy light of healing filled the entire room, not just the intended recipient.
Also, Guts entered the room at that moment, “Hey, don’t leave me behind without saying=- W-Whoa!”
The light blinded everyone in the room, him included.
“Which idiot used an Area Heal?! Save your mana!” The person in charge roared annoyingly after reopened his eyes from the blinding light.
“Umm… That was my magic,” Lily murmured, still bewildered by what happened.
“It is Miss Lily’s?! Why would you use an Area Heal?” The supervisor said, confused.
To explain the spells, Middle Heal healed a person’s wound while Area Heal healed everyone in the range.
However, Area Heal costed a great deal of mana to use, and the amount of healing done was not significant. Therefore, making it an inefficient spell to use.
Middle Heal, on the other hand, only healed one person. But the amount of healing done was good enough that it could cure anything short of growing out new limbs. The mana needed to use it was also five times lower than Area Heal, making it a popular spell to use.
While Lily definitely used Middle Heal, it healed everyone in the room like Area Heal would do.
“No, I did n-“
“She was just a little bit nervous, chief,” Rey interrupted and gazed into Lily’s eyes.
‘Just play along’ was his message.

“A-Ah, yes, my bad, I was a bit nervous.” Lily changed her words.
“Please be more careful! We don’t want you to waste your mana here, after all,” the chief gave a slight admonishment then went back to his business.
“Let’s go, Lily,” Rey nudged at her, and then the four and the newly arrived Guts left the room.
…
“Strange… The wound is completely gone,” one of the medics murmured while observing her current patient. His wound was too severe to be fully cured by Area Heal, after all.
…
…
…
“I swear I didn’t use an Area Heal, Rey!” Lily began when the five were alone again.
“I know that. I was watching,” Rey replied.
“What’s going on?” Guts asked.
“Lily used a Middle Heal, and somehow it became an Area Heal,” Raphael answered.
“What the fuck?!” Guts swore.
“I-I don’t think that is the case,” Elvis timidly commented.
Raphael and Guts had a question mark on their head.
“Elvis is right. I don’t think her Middle heal became an Area heal. But perhaps… It was the effect of her new Class,” Rey said.
“Ah!”
“Ah!”
“Ah!”
Lily, Raphael, and Guts cried out at the same time.
“So that means-” Lily began.
“Yes, your new Class probably amplified the effects of your spell,” Rey continued for her.
“I see,” Saying so, Lily went silent, deep in contemplation.
“Anyway, that is good to know. We probably should explore the exact effects of the Class later on, but for now, focus on the battle,” Rey concluded.
“Right!”
“Roger!”
“Y-Yes!”
The other boys answered.
“Lily?” Rey asked after seeing she still stayed silent.
“A-Ah, yes. Let’s focus on the battle,” Lily responded, but her mind was elsewhere.
While they made a new discovery along the way, the battle continued.
