《Alternate Worlds》Chapter 7: Changes

When not working, she got a very nice stone house not too far from the Guild so the commute is not bad. She spends time with the girls between their jobs and hers.
Da'Rune Finally learned to let Hel lead and is trying hard to curb her enthusiasm (or stupidity depending on whom you ask).
She had fun, finally had sex with her lovers, had a Life. Everything seemed to go well for several years.
(She killed the evil Baron and his henchmen and freed all his prisoners. The King, hearing about it offered her the Barony, as one of those prisoners was his wife. Held to keep him in check. Her rescue was all that was important to him. Cin'aed just handed the Barony over to the Guild and went back to work.)
Then they came. In force. Thousands of them. Dragons, with soldiers, being led by the Vampire Gods who were loyal to Anwen Cin'aed Goddess Queen of the Dragons. The same Anwen who was defeated and unknown to Cin'aed, banished to another world. A world with only 1 way back. The Same Magic Mirror that Cin'aed took as a prize then all but forgot about in her new life.
The Dragons goals are simple. Kill Cin'aed and all she holds dear and retrieve the Mirror so they can rescue their Queen.
Unfortunately for the Dragons, the Guilds were not so easy to defeat. The Guild Master, founder of the First and all subsequent adventurers guilds had been planning, building up ways to kill these beings and their nearly unstoppable Masters. When the Dragons attacked it was a surprise, but while a few hundred civilians died in the opening gambit, several hundred Dragons also died, explosively. The Guilds became active, the war was on and this time the humanoids intended to push the dragons and vampires to the ends of the earth.

Now the Guild had some unexpected allies to. The Immortals lead by Kitten. She saw what was happening and came to offer her services to Guilds in defense of the Lands. She had spies loyal to her in the ranks of the enemies. She also brought to them the secrets to destroying the Vampires, who had fallen to the Darkness. Those all had a single group flaw - Fire. But it had to be really hot fire. Furnace level hot.
Here Cin'aed's other worldly knowledge came in to play. She taught them how to make Phosphorus weapons, flame throwers, and the high metals that protected the soldiers from their own weapons. She gave the guilds designs for weapons from her worlds Middle Ages. Technology over a thousand years more advanced than anywhere else in that world. She Taught dozens of Armorers and Weapons smiths, all loyal to the guild, the secrets of Titanium and stainless steel and Damascus Weapons.
That first day, that first attack, Cin'aed had been doing one of her concerts. The amphitheater it was at was the first attacked. And the lead dragons, breathing lightning in to the crowd, did not survive the wrath of Cin'aed FlameSinger, Master Armorer and Beloved of the Gods of Light. Her powers had grown over the years and while she could not save those who died in the first strike, she could and did avenge them. Her powers tore the dragons apart, limbs, heads, some just exploded from force strikes that went down their throats and expanded outward faster than the dragons natural defenses could handle. It rained dragon blood that day and taught the dragons an important lesson. Going head on with this mortal was suicide.

Despondent Divinity
There exists a Great Seal which split the world in two, one half ravaged by the Darkness, the other a safe haven of Light. Since the collapse of the old world, 20,000 years have passed, and the world watches on as their only protection from the Plague of Plagues slowly dissipates. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!

The Harvester
Rakna was not normal. No, unmistakably not. Whether it was his appearance, his personality, his abilities, his identity, nothing about him had ever been banal. Was it his choice? No. He was merely but a tormented soul doing its utmost to live the life it had learned to never enjoy. Would being picked by a glorified universal abductor calling itself a system bring something out of him? Would he finally learn to breathe in the pool of blood that suffocated him? The Harvester does not sow, he only collects. All he has ever known to feel was loss and the only thing he can do is take. He will devour their hearts and drink their blood if it is what it takes. --- Update Schedule: In Flux (6 PM UTC)

Sacrificed in Thirty Seconds
A somewhat unusual reincarnation story, where the main character is thrown into a new world and tries to survive. It is a combination of survival/adventure. I wrote it as a fast-paced, action driven story. If you like slice of life, or extensive descriptions, it is probably not for you. This is my first book here, I will not remove it, but do not expect anything special.
