《Room Mates (NaLu)》Chapter 1 ~ Before you start your day

"Lucy you can't leave me!" My desperate aunt screamed while she crushed my face into her chest with her long arms.
I have been living with my Aunt Mavis and Uncle Zeref for a year now since my parents passed. It was pretty hard moving at first; leaving the house behind and all my great friends at school, but things have been great here on my gap year. I've had plenty of time to grow close to my new family and home.
"Mavis, you know I have to go! I'm leaving for university now. I'm all grown up!" I replied whilst giggling at her childish sobs. Zeref stood behind her with his face in his hands, shaking his head.
"I really can't believe you're leaving me with her." He mumbled under his breath with a smirk. Mavis suddenly released me from her deathly grip, leaving my black Nirvana tshirt damp with tears.
"Excuse me?" She firmly questioned. Her glare so cold it could turn a person to stone. His smirk dropped.
"Uh- I- Uhm, Nothing Mav!" Zeref choked out quickly, realising his fatal mistake of joking around near his hot-headed wife. "I-I was just saying how much I was going to miss Lucy!"
Close one Zeref.
"I'm gonna go grab my bags guys." I laughed, slipping out of the kitchen into the hallway to make my way up the narrow, carpeted staircase. I'm gonna miss this crazy family of mine. Mavis' tough act and Zerefs wimpy personality. I loved them so much.
I made it to the top of the staircase and grabbed the brass handle of my bedroom door, pushing it open. I stood in my doorway staring into my soon to be 'old room'. It was weird to think I was actually leaving. I was going to University for two whole years. I was going to live with a random person I didn't know. I was going to make new friends. I was starting fresh.

I stepped my way into my room and dragged my two yellow suitcases off my bed, laying them down on the fluffy, grey rug on the floor. I turned myself around and faced a body length mirror that was leaning on my wall. My hair was hanging loose and straight, travelling down the back of the oversized t-shirt I was wearing. Next some barely visible shorts, a pair of tights and some black docs. I looked cute!
(
I looked myself up and down in the mirror, making sure I looked okay, before grabbing my cases again and stumbling down the stairs once again.
"Have you got everything sweet?" Mavis asked kindly, giving a big smile that showed her dimples.
I paused before replying; mentally ticking off a checklist of everything I needed.
"Yep. I'm ready to go!" I spoke excitedly.
Zeref wrapped his arm around my shoulder and grabbed one of my cases.
"Let's get you loaded up then."
I opened the door of my coffee coloured Fiat 500 before shouting one last goodbye to Mavis and Zeref who stood hand in hand in the doorway of the house. I slid in and closed my car door, turning the keys to start the car.
This is it.

Overgrowth
I never thought I'd be killed by butterflies. But here I am... Edmon Valli was a smuggler, before a freak storm threw him off course and stranded him on a desert island smack in the middle of an uncharted monster zone. Trying his best to survive, or possibly even escape, he stumbles across the find of a lifetime: an unclaimed dungeon crystal. This is a dungeon-ish story, but without reincarnation or transmigration. I started it as a whim for NaNoWriMo so I may drop it any time after that... or I might not. My current plan is to write until I can reach some sort of conclusion and call it 'volume one'. I hope someone enjoys reading it for now! All comments, corrections, and criticism welcome.

Raven: The Beginning
'What's the worst that could happen'? is what I thought to myself as I entered the World of the Veil with a new, experimental machine that the company created. I was originally excited to participate in their alpha test, and now, looking back, I was just a naive little girl that didn't know what it was like to truly suffer. Sarah was one of the world's best assassin players, but she wasn't prepared for getting stuck as a low-level player in a new game. Suddenly she has to struggle just to survive against the monsters of the world, while also keeping her secret from the authorities. What happens when the killing, and the consequences, are just too real? Author's Note (and a Warning): This book is about a normal person that is forced into a fantasy / medieval environment. What could possibly go wrong with our heroine? This novel is a sort of, legacy. I wanted to at least put it out there before I passed away due to a combination of financial difficulty, homelessness, job loss, and my last interview taking up the last of my savings (which I did not get the job). If by some miracle, and I get a job that can give me a pay advance by next week (4/8) and I survive this turbulent time, I will edit this - and the formating of the book). If you are so willing, please donate on my patreon page. Regards, Dave
