when youre driving before sunrise and spend hours looking out the window for the split second it takes for the sun to come up over the horizon and it isnt until after the sun's already up that you realize there was no exact second that the sun wasnt there until it was. it was a gradual rise. first the sky gets a little lighter above where you think the sun is supposed to be and you peel your eyes even more, waiting. then its even lighter and you start to worry you missed it because the sun was behind a cloud or something, but no it hasnt come up yet and now youre a little more impatient. and it feels like only seconds later the sun is already up and the sky is bright and pink and yellow and purple and you realize this was the part you were waiting for the entire time that made the entire wait worth it and thats kind of like falling in love with you
