show me
the most damaged
parts of your soul,
and i will show you
how it shines like gold
~nikita gill
it has been a week since you and spencer's first date and ever since then it had been a bliss, spencer was the probably the greatest thing that has happened to you in a while. he always managed to put a smile on your face or make you laugh.
this whole week spencer had been out on a case so you both decided to raincheck on your date. you both were hopeful that the case would end before your date but the odds were not in your favor. were you upset, yes, but you weren't mad, spencer has a very important job that involves saving peoples lives. he would call you every night to check up on you and talk about lesson plans, every time he got on the phone he sounded exhausted and most times would even fall asleep on the phone.
you were working on writing your profile on charles manson and his cult when you heard a knock on your door. you quickly got up and walked out of your bedroom and into your living room, opening your door to see spencer standing at your door completely drenched from the rain outside and tears in his eyes.
"oh my gosh spence come here" you say pulling him in your house closing your door behind you. as soon as you turn around spencer engulfs you into a hug pitting his head in the crook of your neck, you feel the sob rack through his body as he hugs you. your heart absolutely aches for the man in your arms right now. you don't say anything you just let him cry, rubbing his back gently as he struggles to breathe trough the sobs.
"breathe spence, its ok i got you nothing is going to hurt you i promise" you say softly, rubbing his back gently in attempts to calm him down. you feel his start to calm down as you whisper comforting words to him.
he breaks way from the hug and stand up to his full height, you get on your tip toes and wipe the tears off of his face giving him a small peck. he gives you a small smile before you grabbing your hand.

"im sorry for just showing up" his voice still thick from sobbing "i just really needed someone to come to that isn't my team" he says looking down at you
"its fine spence, you're wet" you say grabbing his hand pulling him back into your room "you're going to get sick and that's the last thing you want" you say as you both enter you're room "if you want you can stay here tonight, i have extra clothes for you to sleep in and a shower" you say looking up at him
"thank you" he says barely above a whisper
"of course" you say softly "go shower, you'll feel better, i will be right here when you get out" you say letting go of his hand to walk to your closet. you pick out a pair of boxers that you bought for shorts, an oversized jack skellington shirt, and some grinch pajama pants that didn't fit you and set them out on the bed.
"y/n" you hear spencer say from the bathroom, you put the clothes down and walk up to the bathroom door. "do you have a specific body wash you want me to use" he asks, you can here how genuine he sounds from behind the door making your heart even more.
"no, use whichever one you want" you say loud enough for him to hear you. you here an soft "ok" come from him before you hear the shower water start.
as he's showering you try to make your room as comfortable and relaxing as you can, you grab some of your fluffy blankets from out of the living room and put them on the bed. you grab some lavender incense from your incense collection and light it before putting it in your incense waterfall, you light some vanilla candles to mix with the scent of lavender travelling around your room.
when you're finished with your room he's still showering so you take the time to order some food for the both of you, you choose chinese ordering two orders of honey chicken, dumplings, and general tso chicken with fried rice and noodles. you and spencer had chinese so often that you remembered his order by heart.

as you were waiting for the food to get here you start to make two cups of chamomile tea with honey hoping that it would warm him up, as you're putting the kettle on the stove spencer walks in and sits at the island his fluffy hair now damp and wearing the clothes you picked out. you turn the stove on and set the kettle on the eye and leave it to get hot, you walk over to spencer who immediately pulls you in for a hug.
"how you feelin" you ask resting your chin on top of his head.
"better, thank you again" he says his voice raspy, he continues to cling on you as if you are going to turn into dust right in his hands.
you guys just stay like that until you hear the kettle go off, he lets you out of his grasp to get the kettle. you walk around the island and grab two mugs for the both of you a long with the chamomile tea bags, you put the tea bags in the cup and pour the hot water into the cups. you grab the honey from your cabinet and put enough honey in the cups to sweeten it up.
"here" you say holding out the cup of tea to spencer "i hope you like chamomile tea, if not i can alwa" he cuts you off
"i love chamomile tea" he says giving me a small smile before taking a sip, you smile back before taking a sip of your tea.
as soon as you go to sit down you hear a knock on the door, you set your tea down, grab your wallet, and walk to the door. you open the door and pay for the food before telling the delivery man thank you and goodbye, you walk back over to the table and set the food down. you take the food out of the bags and hand spencer his food before you grab yours. you both eat in silence, the silence isn't uncomfortable at all it's actually quite relaxing.
once you're finished you both but your leftovers in the fridge and head back into your room, you both walk into the bathroom and brush your teeth before getting walking back into your room. spencer gets straight in the bed watching you blow out the candles, once you blow out every single candle you get into bed with spencer letting him lay on your chest.
"what happened" you ask running your hands through his hair, massaging his scalp gently.
"our case was a series of murders in a jail in wisconsin, i don't want to go into much detail" he says before stopping " but there was this guy and he reminded me a lot of me when i was in prison" he says rubbing his hand up and down your leg softly, you know that if spencer went to jail that it was was for a terrible reason because this man has no right to be put in prison. "i interviewed him and when i saw for the first time he was all beaten up and had bruises all over his face and neck and i remembered when i was like that in prison" he says his voice wavering. "well today he was found dead in his cell, someone slit his throat and had written in his blood 'snitch' on the wall, and i-i remembered how that could have been me" he says letting the tears flow from his eyes.
"spence i am so so so sorry" you say hearing your voice waver "but now you have me and i will be a shoulder to cry on, a diary, anything you need spence i'm here for you not matter what" you say before giving him a kiss on top of his head
"you are amazing y/n y//l/n" he says softly
"and you are spectacular spencer reid" you say

The Endless Boundary Between Dimensions

On duty, they had steadily grown as friends, passionately evolved into lovers, and casually saved America from assured destruction at the hand of its own scientists. Battle after battle with Dimension Eaters - beings who can absorb vast quantities of land and store them inside a pocket dimension - had left them tired of living on a battlefield, and they wished for nothing more to retire in each other's company. Thomas the Brawler
Thomas doesn't remember what his last name was, before it became Bluebrim, a name belonging to another universe. He's also pretty sure he wasn't this stupid before he arrived, but what can you do, when a day that was supposed to begin with an interview to set your life back on track instead begins in a universe that makes no sense, with rules you can't begin to understand? Maybe he should have paid more attention to the avatar creation screen ... Content warnings: All of them. Seriously. Expect lots of blue screens to begin with. Don't expect a power-leveling fantasy, in which the lone hero beats up all the bad guys, and gets a harem of women. There's just a guy who treats character creation like an annoying series of pop-up advertisements, and the story is basically the ramifications of that. The main character has to learn to take the world he's found himself in seriously, and he'll learn the way most of us do, by doing it wrong first. This is, insofar as it is successful, a dark comedy fantasy. Also a bit of horror, particularly but not exclusively body horror. I'm pretty sure I've earned those Content Warning tags, so, uh, yeah. This is practice. Hopefully things improve as I go, and figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I make no guarantees things will ever get better. I've already made mistakes, I'll make more, and I'm happy to notice them each time I make them. You don't improve unless you fail. (On the plus side, it probably won't get much worse.) Feel free to point out anything you think I'm doing wrong; I don't promise to change anything, particularly if it's a matter of taste, but I am looking to improve, and figuring out what I need to improve goes faster if I don't have to try to figure it out myself. I've updated the earlier chapters for formatting, in the hope that it would make everything easier to read on mobile devices. Hopefully things work slightly better now, but please let me know if there are any issues anywhere.
