《Blue Fire》BLEEDING

After hours of sleeping and pondering life in the shower I finally collected myself and was now sitting in the cold kitchen. My phone started vibrating on the glass table. I put down the sandwich I was eating and grimaced while picking up my phone. My face quickly went expressionless when I saw Kenzie's name. I quickly answered remembering what she promised.

Michelle and I were going out to eat last weekend. Her mom Tracy was driving, leaving Kenzie home alone. We had to take an unexpected trip back to the house because Melissa couldn't see without her glasses. Michelle was confident they were in her bathroom but Tracy argued they were in the basement.

I ran into the house then quietly opened her bedroom door and continued to walk into the bathroom. What I saw sent blood rapidly rushing through my veins and paralyzed every inch of my body. My voice got stuck in my throat and all I could manage was a choked up cough. Kenzie stared at me wide eyed. Her shaking hands held a razor that threatened to cut at her tan scarred skin. There were tears wetting her eyelashes and dropping onto the floor. There was no blood anywhere .

"Please don't tell anyone!" I took the razor before replying. "Kenzie I have to- "Please!" She began to violently sob as I pulled her into my shoulder. Three long minutes passed before Michelle called complaining that I was taking to long. I lied and said they weren't in either the bathroom or basement but near the microwave which earned a gasp from both of them. While sitting her down I swore to Kenzie I wouldn't tell anyone as long as she promised to call me when something was wrong.
