I slowly began to open my eyes. I was laid down and once my vision came into focus I saw I was back on Dylan's bed. Great I must have passed out after I hit my head.
I looked down and saw I was just in my under ware. Dylan had stuck a massive plaster over my wound and I could see the blood staining though. I sighed, not a fed up but a panic sigh. I started to shake my arms slightly and bit my lip. Just out of panic.
"It's fine, I'll get it sorted out, I'm sure there's a-" Dylan walked in, talking to him self but topped as he noticed I was conscious "she's awake" he said and happily walked in.
"And how is she feeling" he asked me, why was he talking to me like that. He suddenly slammed his hands against my forehead. I winced in pain
"Feels normal, anyway suppers ready" he told me as he started to help me up. I could tell he has blood stains on him which concerned my greatly but he did have a dead deer in his living room so god knows
I felt exposed in just my underwear but I guess my dress was still drying off.
Dylan carried me to another room. In the room was a table with chairs. He took me to a chair and sat me down on it. He ducked down and strapped something around my ankle, attaching it to the chair so I couldn't move.
He stood back up and walked off towards the door and walked out.
He soon returned with two silver trays in hand with a metal cover ontop. Keeping what's inside secret. My placed one infront of me and one at his seat. He then went out again then came back again With an even bigger one and placed that in between us. He then left once more before returning with two cups filled with a clear liquid. I assumed it was water but the strong smell indicated it was something else.

Dylan sat himself down in his seat and placed his hand on the Handel of the lid
"Copy my actions and open yours at the same time as me" he told me. I nodded slowly before reaching my hand to the lid
I placed my hand ontop and took a firm hold and locked my eyes into Dylan's hand
"And open" he said. I watched as he pulled up the lid and I did the same. I looked down and saw that there was a meal on the plate. It looked like a normal meal. A well cooked normal meal. I was slightly impressed. There was some cut meat and some red sause and vegetables
"My special" he said as he lifted up his knife and fork
It smelt nice and looked normal. I was really hungry to be honest with you and it was most likely the deer Dylan had earlier, with some food from the butchers, but why would a butcher give him a bag of veg. Then again Dylan could have just asked him to collect some beg for him as not to waste time.
But what about the human finger?
"Well tuck in" he Dylan as he took a bite. I nodded and looked up to him. He was happily eating
I lifted up my fork and stuck it into a green bean. The carrot had some of the red sauce on it.
I slowly brought the green bean to my mouth.
I put it inside and began to chew. It tasted like a green bean and the red sauses tasted like berrys. So it all seemed normal. It tasted really nice I wasn't going to lie. I swallowed. A weird after taste lingered in my mouth but I guess that was just to do with the berry sause.

I then decided to brave the meat. I had never had deer before and to be honest that didn't taste bad either. Dylan was a good cook.
"Is it good" he asked as he took a sip of his drink. I looked up to him and nodded. He smiled. He lent over to the massive dish in the middle and began to pull off the lid

Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
