MICAH
i walked through the studio putting some final touches on a few things before I left for my flight. I was flying into New York to do Dave's video. Travis was coming to see the studio and take me to lunch before I leave. It was something different about everything. I felt something in the pit of my stomach was wrong but I couldn't figure out what it was.
My thoughts were interrupted by Travis wrapping his arms around me. I smiled just being in his arms and taking in his cologne.
"This must be Carmen's floor"
"No" I laughed "This is miscellaneous. We would hold events down here. I have the second floor and then Carmen will get the third for art studio. She still deciding if she wants to have art classes or not"
"I love it baby" he hugged me "I am so proud of you for making this shit happen"
"Thank you" I kissed him "It means a lot to have support through all of this"
"I'm always going to support you baby girl"
I wanted so bad to tell him I love him but I couldn't get it out. For some reason, I was so scared to actually say it. I just smiled and moved away to grab my things. We kept joking about things as we headed to the car.
We talked on the way to the restaurant. I was definitely going to miss my baby throughout these two weeks. I just admired him as we followed the waitress to the table. I was quickly snapped out of my gaze when I saw his parents sitting at the table.
"Travis" I grabbed his arm
"Please baby"
He pulled me forward by my hand as if this wasn't a set up. I put on a smile when we arrived
"Hey ma! Sup pops!"
He hugged his mother as I hugged his father. When he hugged his father is mother and I just starred at each other. We sat down and ordered drinks before Mr. Barron finally started the conversation.

"So Micah, I hear your grand opening is coming soon?"
"It feels soon but I have some time"
"What are you opening" his mother asked
"Umm its a studio"
She nodded
"Micah's actually about to leave for a couple weeks"
"Where you off too?"
"Umm I'm going to New York"
"Vacation" his mother smirked
"No it's for work" I smiled "I am choreographing for a music video and if all goes well I'll be doing two. I just signed a contract with a music director as his choreographer so any time he is shooting something that requires a dance, I am on it. Consider it my second job"
Mr. Barron laughed before fist bumping me "That's my girl"
"Thanks Mr. Barron"
"Isn't she amazing"
Travis looked at me while caressing my thigh under the table. I kissed his cheek before they moved on to the next topic. As they talked about different things, I began to answer a few messages. Then one came in from Dave.
TEXT:

I put my phone down and tried to engaged in the conversation. I realize they were talking about having a dinner party and Travis wasn't here for it. He already told me Khari's mother and his were best friends so she always ends up at their function. I wasn't even pressed about that girl so I wasn't worried.
"Babe it sounds like a good idea" I spoke up

"Really?"
"I mean networking wise why not? Your dad told you, you gotta start being more social with who you have business with. Right Mr. Barron?"
"That's right Micah"
"Alright cool but can we wait until Micah comes back?"
"For what?" his mother spoke with an attitude "You can't frame your life around someone else's schedule. That's just ridiculous Travis"
"You're absolute right" I agreed
"She is?" he looked confused
"Baby you know anything you need me to be at I'll just catch a flight" I smirked "You always support me and I'll always support you. You never have to worry about my schedule because I know my priorities" I faced his mother "I've done freelance party coordinating here and there if you need any help Mrs. Barron"
"No thank you"
Her attitude was gone but her face was stone while she stared at me with fire in her eyes. We finished lunch and headed to my studio to get my bags. Once the car was loaded I text Dave to get the info on how to get to the plan. We ended up getting to drive right up to the plan on the strip. I was excited for Dave to meet Travis. Dave was truly my best friend and for along time I had a love for him that was out of this world. i still had love for him but we definitely grew up.
When we parked, I kissed Travis before we both got out the car. The planes door was open and Dave walked down in sweats looking like he was going to sleep through the little air time we hard. I pulled Travis over and hugged Dave.
"Travis this is Dave, my best friend when I was a kid. DJ this is Travis"
"Nice to meet you man"
"Same to you" Dave shook his hand
"Take care of my lady" Travis wrapped his arms around me "Let me know when you land"
"I promise I will babe"
"Give me a kiss"
I kissed Travis before letting him go. He watched as I got on the plane with Dave and the door closed before getting in his truck. I wanted Dave's opinion instantly. Since we met he's always gotten vibes from people and was never wrong.
"Soooo?" I sat across from him "What do you think?"
"About what?"
"Travis nigga!" I laughed "How was the vibe?"
"I can tell he really care about you Sunshine. He's cool people... but I will say he doesn't seem as strong minded as he trying to put on"
"What do you mean?"
"It's like he seems secure in yall shit but I just get the sense if I was to be on some 'he aint the right guy for you' type shit he would fight against it"
I nodded and sighed
"Why you looking for my validation? You happy aren't you"
"Of course I am" I laughed "but everyone who knows me and him are connected to both of us. It's like I wanted someone's genuine opinion on us plus I've always trusted your judgement... that hasn't changed"
He nodded "If he make you happy don't let nothing get in yall way Sunshine... but you can't fight for the relationship by yourself... always remember that"
"I won't" I smiled at him "Now play me the song so I can get ready for this video"
"We not shooting until tomorrow"
"I gotta get my mind right"
He slide me his phone "Just be prepare for my bro"
"Who?"
"Chris"
"Chris?"
"Chris Brown" he laughed shaking his head "He's featuring and I can promise you baby girl you are just his type"
"I doubt that"
"Bro not what he seem like plus he's looking for something different"
"And I'm different?"
"You've always been different"
I blushed before turning on the sound and vibing out to it on repeat for the rest of the flight

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
