《You Saw Right Through Me》The Beginning

I woke up, but opening my eyes made no difference. I couldn't see anything. "W-What..." I felt walls on all sides of me except for my front, so I reached out and pushed, making the locker I was in fling open. "A-ah, I was in a locker." I walked out, but the moment I did, I fell over. I thankfully caught myself, but I can't say the same for the girl in the room next to mine. "Ahh!"
I got up and looked around. I was in a classroom, but I can't say it was a normal one. Instead of a whiteboard, there was a green screen, and there was this machine-looking thing on the wall. There were desks like very other classroom, but the windows were blocked by some red bar wire. I saw the door and decided that I would check on whoever that voice was that I heard earlier.
I heard another thump from the room next door, this one seeming to be louder. "Hnngh..." Oh, a new voice. It sounded like a boy this time.
I tried opening the door, but then I hear a boy's voice from the room I was in. "U-uhm..." I turned around and saw this purple haired boy in a school uniform. It wasn't the same as mine, so I assumed that he didn't go to the same school as I do. "Uh, who are you?" I asked. "I-I'm Kokichi Ouma... what's your name?" He asked. "I'm Y/N L/N." He smiled, slightly. "Nice to meet you."
He seemed shy, so I decided not to make small talk with him. I turned around and tried twisting the doorknob again, but then I here a yell. "Y/N!" I turn around to see this large machine, a bit like a futuristic robot. Hearing yells from the room next to mine, I guess it's safe to assume that they're in the same situation as us.
I grab Kokichi's hand and we ran down the stairs, taking a few turns until we end up at a door. "Well, it's not a dead end until there's nowhere else to go." I tell myself. I push open the door and see other people, also in school uniforms. "Oh, more people have arrived!" The girl with white hair said.
"Did you get chased by that monster, too?" The magenta haired one said. I nodded and looked around. I saw a blonde girl with clips in her hair, my eyes widening. "Wait... Kaede?" She looked up and her eyes widened. "Oh my gosh, Y/N!" She ran up to me. "You got kidnapped, too?" I nodded and looked around.
"Wait... we're all high schoolers?" All of them looked around and nodded. "Seems like it. And you two are the sixteenth and seventeenth people to arrive." The one with green hair and piercings stated.
"Who.. are you guys?" I asked, trying to be as polite as possible. The green haired boy smiled. "Well, I'm Rantaro Amami. I'll leave it at that for now."
"Anyway, why does it matter of there's 16 of us. There might be more coming."
Rantaro crossed his arms. "Nah, I don't think so. If this is what I think this is, anyway." The girl with her hair in pigtails raised a brow. "'If this is what you think it is?'"
The girl with messy blonde hair abruptly started yelling. "What, you some kind of know-it-all? If you know something, spit it out!" I covered my ears to muffle the noise. I didn't really like the fact that she was swearing and yelling at the same time, especially since it was our first time meeting.

Then, a new voice echoed throughout the room. It sounded like it was from a P.A. or something.
"Okay, quiet down everybody!"
The girl glasses eyes went wide. "Who was that?" I looked around. Everyone seemed to look surprised so I didn't think it was any of them.
Suddenly, the same machines that chased us into this gymnasium appeared. I held onto Kaede's arm as we heard the machines start laughing. "Thanks for bearing with us!"I tilted my head.
The girl with glasses screamed. "There are more monsters! We're surrounded!" No duh, Sherlock! "These aren't monsters, these are exisals!" The voice from the P.A. said again.
The voice started explaining what the "exisals" do, with their strange mechanics, and the fact that they're, "Weapons?" A boy with an emo looking hat wondered aloud. I guess they're guards of some sort, then.
"Should we take these for a spin by killing one of them?" It was a voice from inside the exisal in front of me.
Rantaro put his arm in front of Kaede and I.
"It wouldn't be any fun picking on plain, good for nothing commoners!" A girl with a bow claimed. Speak for yourself. One of the exisals giggled. "You're right. We should at least think of an interesting way to kill you." Kaede began trembling against my hand.
The exisal started explaining different ways to kill us while the girl with a bow answered back with panicked protests.
"Wait!" A different exisal called. "We can't kill them yet! According to the schedule, the exisals aren't supposed to appear until later!" Schedule? The exisals started having a seemingly normal conversation in front of us now. Have we been forgotten or...?
Without warning, five different coloured bears jumped out of the exisals. They landed in some weird superhero pose and introduced themselves as the Monokubs.
"See, we're out of our exisals now. We're not scary anymore, right?" The red one asked. I let go of Kaede's arm. "His desperation is strangely terrifying." The pink one sighed.. Then the blue bear said some nonsensical sentence that I was really not in the mood for trying to comprehend.
All I heard from the blue one was something, something, hell, something else, hell, blah blah blah. Then the yellow one spoke up. "No, no Monokid. You're saying 'hell' too much. It's ruining the hellish impact." I'm just about done with this word.
"What's up with these stuffed animals? How are they moving?" And that's how the conversation on the talking stuffed animals started.
"Wait... you call yourselves the 'Monokubs?'" I asked. The yellow one suddenly shuts its mouth. "Don't bother asking Monodam. He only talks to close friends. Years of abuse has really done a number on his heart." These things have a backstory now?
"Looks like I was right." Rantaro said. I tilted my head. "About what?"
"Shut up you!" The blue bear yelled. "All of you are acting way too normally on this. It's boring!" Yep, that one's definitely my least favourite. "Actually, don't their clothes seem kinda boring, too?" I looked down. They're uniforms, so we don't get a say in this.
"Wait a minute. Ya think they haven't been given their first memory yet?"
I looked up in curiosity. "We're just wondering... do you guys have ultimate talents or something?" Ultimate talents? It sounds familiar... "I... don't have one." Kaede said, looking slightly disappointed. "Don't worry, I don't recall having one either." I confessed.

"I knew it! They haven't gotten their first memory yet." What's a first memory? I was about to ask when, "Youse have forgotten your ultimate talents!" I looked at the yellow one. Ultimate talent? It seems like something from a video game. "That was Monophenie's job." The yellow one pointed out, but the pink one, who I assume was this Monophenie character, was sleeping. The red one tried explaining something called the 'Ultimate Hunt' but none of us knew what he was talking about.
"Well in your current state, it's pretty much pointless to talk to you guys about this. The first thing we need you to do is remember who you are and your ultimate talents."
"Yeah, you need to reclaim your sealed talents by regaining your memories!" Wasn't that one sleeping before?
"I don't get it. What are these sealed talents you're talking about?" Kokichi asked.
"How are we supposed to talk when you keep asking questions?!" Why, excuse you. How rude. "Let's update your wardrobe!" The blue one yelled. The exisals threw up different outfits and somehow, they landed on each of us and fit perfectly.
I looked at Kaede. "Oh my gosh..." She looked down and traced her finger over the music notes on her skirt. Everyone else had new outfits, each seeming to have a specific theme. "Looking good! Now you look more like ultimates!" I looked down at my outfit. I had a black tie and a f/c suit. It stopped right at my waist and I had a dark f/c skirt (if you don't want one, you don't need one). Under the skirt I had legging and on my feet I had black flats/shoes.
"Now let's give you the memory you've all been waiting for!"
"Once the seal is broken, we'll be in the domain of the killing game!" The WHAT? "Alright, after the flashback light helps you remember all your amazing talents, the story will finally begin!"
...
I woke up, but opening my eyes made no difference. I couldn't see anything. "W-What..." I felt walls on all sides of me except for my front. I reached out and pushed, making the locker I was in fling open. "A-ah, I was in a locker." I walked out, but the moment I did, I fell over. I thankfully caught myself, but I can't say the same for the girl in the room next to mine. "Ahh!"
I stood up, but as I did, I heard another thump from the room next to mine, and the voice of a boy. Then I hear a thump from the locker next to the one I woke up in. A small boy with purple hair and a checkered scarf stumbled out. "Ow.. what the-" I held out my hand. "Are you okay?" He looked up at me. "Nah, I'm fine."
I looked at his body movements and facial expressions. "Did you bump your elbow?" His eyes widened. "How did you know?" I looked at his left arm, which he wouldn't straighten. "Your arm." I pointed and he covered it with his hand. "I-I'm fine." I decided to brush it off, despite the fact that I knew he was not fine.
Then, these small stuffed bears appeared in the middle of the classroom we woke up in. "W-what the.. why are there talking stuffed animals?"
One of the bears gasped. "We're Monokubs, stupid head!" I tilted my head. "Uh... are you the teachers of this sketchy looking school?" The boy with me abruptly laughed. "Oh, I wish all my teachers were stuffed animals!" His arm was straightened. I guess it's fine now.
"Wait, you don't know who we are?" One of the Monokubs said. I shook my head. "It worked!" The red one exclaimed. "Okay, so you must be wondering where you are. This place is called the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles." I raised a brow.
"Hm, never heard of it." The boy stated, crossing his arms. "Well, obviously! This school was made specifically for you 17!" The pink Monokub said. My eyes widened. "Seventeen?" The yellow one pushed up his glasses. "That's right! There are 17 ultimates in this school!"
"Ultimates are people who are a prodigy at a particular talent!" The Monokubs started explaining. "Ultimates are people tracked by the government and they are given different opportunities that other people don't, like the right to vote, scholarships, and the right to run for office!" I sighed. "I didn't need an explanation. I know what an ultimate is. I'm one!"
"Good, you remember." The yellow one sighed. Remember? That I'm an ultimate? "Stop yapping and get started already!"
"Start what?" the boy next to me asked, looking around the room. "Exactly what you're doing! Looking around the academy!"
"Oh, and if you meet another ultimate, be sure to introduce yourselves. Names will be useful for our... activity later." And with that, the Monokubs disappeared.
"I don't like the sound of this activity." I mumbled.
"Oh, calm down! It sounds fun!" I looked at the boy. There are seventeen ultimates... is he one too? "Hey, um... are you an ultimate, too?" The boy smiled and put his hands behind his head. "I'm Kokichi Ouma, but people call me the Ultimate Supreme Leader!" I didn't know that was a talent.
"Oh, that's cool. I'm Y/N L/N. I'm the Ultimate Psychologist." Kokichi looked at me. "So that's how you saw through my lie! Not a lot of people can do that, you know." His voice did sound quite convincing when he told that lie, so I can see why it would be hard to tell. "Well, technically people don't call me the Ultimate Psychologist. They call me Mind Reader..." Kokichi crossed his arms. "That's way cooler than 'Ultimate Psychologist'!" He yelled.
I smirked a bit. "Anyways, let's go meet the other Ultimates." I motioned to the door. We walked out and down the hall, which was covered with plants, to where I heard the girl and boy. I knocked on the door and asked, "Is anybody in there?" I opened the door slightly to see a girl with blonde hair and a boy with dark blue hair and an emo-looking hat.
"Oh, you must be another Ultimate!" The girl with blonde hair exclaimed. Kokichi and I walked into the room and the girl with blonde hair strode over to me. "I'm Kaede Akamatsu! I'm the Ultimate Pianist."
I examined down at her outstretched hand. Her fingers were long and slender, and in between her fingers were red, meaning that she stretches her fingers apart a lot. I shook her hand and smiled. "I'm Y/N L/N. I'm the Ultimate Psychologist. You seem friendly!"
I looked to my left to see that Kokichi has already taken the liberty of jumping onto the emo boy's back. "U-uh, Kokichi... it doesn't take an Ultimate Psychologist to know that he doesn't like that." I saw something fall out of the emo boy's pocket, so I was quick to reach out my hand and catch it.
"It looks like a small tablet or something." I said, examining it. There were no fingerprints on the screen so, "You didn't even know this was in your pocket, did you?" The tablet turned on and showed the boy and his name. "Shuichi Saihara... the Ultimate Detective." I read. I gave it back to this 'Shuichi' and he looked at it. "It seems to be some sort of student handbook. Do you have one?" I reached into my suit's pocket and pulled it out. "Ah, mine has my name and talent, too."
"Ooh, did you see that!" Kokichi asked. Before any of us answered, he ran out of the room. "K-Kokichi!" I sighed. I guess the Ultimate Supreme Leader doesn't take orders, huh? "I'll go get him. Kokichi!" I ran out into the hallway, but he was no where to be seen. Although, I did see a door with a clipboard and the paper on the clipboard said Psychology. "What is this?" I asked aloud. I tried opening the door, but it seemed to be locked.
Suddenly, the Monokubs appeared in front of the door. "Rise and shine, ursine!" They chanted.
"Oh, hello again."
"What's with the boring writing on the door? Is this an actual job?"
I crossed my arms. "Bold words coming from a small teddy bear." The pink one, Monophenie, giggled. "Anyways, this is the Ultimate Research Lab." Does everything start with Ultimate at this point? "Even though you're in this school, we want you to keep honing your skills. There's a research lab set up for each individual person in this building, and this is yours!"
I tilted my head. "So why is mine locked?" The red one, Monokid, sighed in disappointment. "We're... still setting it up. There are a lot of students here y'know!" I nodded. "Anyways, we're going to go now. So long! Bear well!" I looked at the door.
"They seem to have a specific way of saying things, whether it's bear puns or putting Ultimate before everything."
