《Merciful》chapter seventeen

The man behind the mask waved his finger at Anaya, throwing the phone down and smashing it with his toe.
Anaya very sneakily tried to reach down her waistband felling the cold metal knife, as she rapidly pulled it out, holding it so tight her palm turned pink.
"NO! LET US GO. I SWEAR LET US GO, YOU SICK BASTARD!" She screamed pointing the knife at him.
"Fine," Ali said, and as soon as the words came out of his mouth a loud boom shook the walls of the house, all three of them knew it was a gunshot.
"I will let you walk away. Right now. But the men outside- who are waiting for you won't." He said, walking towards her pulling down his mask.
"And trust me, Anaya. They are not merciful. I gave you a room, they'll give you a cage." He whispered.
All color drained from Anaya's face, and her grasp weakened. This was her life, choosing between her "husband" who already kidnapped her or random wicked men who also wanted to kidnap her.
"Go upstairs, I will check down." A voice made way to the attic, as footsteps came one by one.
Ali took his phone out and dialed a number.
"Send our men in. Quickly." He said, ending the call.
Anaya began to feel dizzy, all emotions drained from her.
She knew those men outside wouldn't take her. Ali wouldn't let them, but at what cost? She'd have to stay with this monster, who had no plans of letting her go now.
Anaya stumbled back, and Jameela quickly caught her in her arms.
"Stay here. Don't fucking move." Ali said, before walking out with his gun in his hand.
"Amee," Anaya cried, as they both sat down on the floor. Jameela engulfing Anaya into her arms.

"T-they took me, from the parking lot at school, and asked me questions about A-abbu, and then later I found out that- that. They k-killed him. Amee I was so s-scared and so sad. And then he m-married me, to inherit whatever Abbu left him behind." Anaya cried, stumbling her words into sentences.
"Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. My darling, I am so sorry."
"He's probably going to take me back." Anaya cried hugging her tighter.
Gunshots could be heard, groans, and strikes as well. Anaya just sat there hugging Jameela, and taking in the last moments of the most peace she'd gotten in the past weeks. She didn't want to let Jameela go, and she thought of ways to escape- but there were none left.
Abruptly, the door to the attic creaked open, and Anaya shot up.
"Amee, Amee go. Go hide." Anaya said, kissing Jameela's forehead before, getting up.
"Anaya, no I can't lea-"
"Amee go. Please." Anaya begged with her eyes.
Tears fell out both their eyes, as they parted ways. Jameela hid behind the large water heater, watching Anaya gloomily.
Anaya got the knife that she had earlier and hid it behind her back, as she ducked behind the wall.
She peeked ahead and saw a man who she wasn't familiar with. She knew he must've been among the other guys, and that frightened her. He walked closer and closer until a man hit him hard with his pistol on the back of his head.
No, no. Anaya thought.
She turned and looked back at the heater, Amee's body no longer visible, as she cried. Ali had come, and he was going to take her, once again. Away from her mother.
Ali stood in front of Anaya, watching her sob uncontrollably.

He could let her go, sure.
In fact, he saw her run. He stood at his window, watching her small frame get that girl into her car. He had smiled, at her intelligent tactics. She never failed to impress him. He was going to let her go. Until, he got a call from Romano- saying that the Russo's were after her, about two blocks away from her house.
Ali's heart had dropped down to his stomach as he ran down the stairs, not alerting his men, but rather getting into his car and speeding down the road. The thoughts of what could happen to her if they got a hold of her, scared him. Yes, it scared him. Ali didn't know why he really didn't. But what he did know that he needed Anaya by him, safe.
"Let's go," He said, grabbing her arm and pulling her up.
"Amee!!" Anaya cried as Jameela looked back at her helplessly.
Ali began to pull Anaya along with him closer to the door, as she just yelled for Amee. Yes, he felt pity here and there, but just the responsibility of Anaya was getting out of hand, he didn't want another Qadeer on his already full plate.
Anaya shook from her cries and tried to resist Ali, but it didn't work. They had left the attic and were now in the foyer.
"Ali!" A voice called.
Ali halted in his steps and looked behind, and saw one of the last of men he hadn't killed standing there with his pistol on Jameela's head.
"NOOOO!!!!" Anaya screeched at the top of her lungs.
"NO! PLEASE! ALI DO SOMETHING, PLEASE. I WILL GO-"
"ROMANO! take her into the car."
"NO! NO! NO! PLEASE NOT AMEE! ALI I BEG YOU I WILL DO ANYTHING! SAVE AMEE PLEASE, NOOO!" Anaya wept and screamed at the same time, as she got pulled away.
"Give me Anaya, and I can give you-" The man tried to talk, but he was just the extras. Ali shot him in the shin and Ali's men began to take Jameela with him. Ali walked back to the car, and sat in the front seat, hearing Anaya sob in the back.
"Why are you still crying?" Ali asked his tone nearly annoyed.
"This was your mess, I told you to not to pull anything stupid." He added.
"Amee," Anaya whispered, her voice now just a rasp.
"She's fine, now be quiet." He said.
Anaya looked up at Ali as they made eye contact in the rearview mirror, her red swollen eyes full of distress and pain looking at his deadly glare of sheer irritation and ease.
He was glad she was in his backseat, rather than someone else's.

Viceroy's Pride
This story could be about the Tellask Empire, ruler of a thousand suns and faced with imminent peril at the hands of the Orakh hordes. It could be about Paltai Amberell, the scion of a noble elven House, fallen upon hard times and seeking to find the key that will restore his family's name and save the Empire itself. It could be the story of his voidship, The Viceroy's Pride, powered by magic and crewed by a team of crack marines as they search for adventure and the solution to the Empire's myriad problems. Instead, this is the story of Daniel Thrush, human electrical engineer, befuddled researcher and survivor of the debacle that was first contact with a spacefaring civilization. Due to a combination of luck, magic, hard work, and more luck he is thrust into the center of events as Earth is shoved onto a much larger stage rife with semi-immortal elves and magical kingdoms that predate the Earthly invention of agriculture. Earth is outnumbered, and we have precisely one wizard. Dan. He's not very good at it, but he's going to have to learn in a hurry or watch everything he knows get torn apart by massive spacefaring empires straight from the pages of a fantasy novel. ---------- Some readers have noted that the MC tends to be weak willed and pushed around a bit. A significant portion of the story is his character growth into not being a pushover (i.e. him being passive is in the early chapters on purpose). I'm just including this caveat/warning to make sure that readers aren't surprised/upset and that they stick with it until he learns to stand up for himself. His arc begins to crystallize around chapters 25-27. If that's too long to wait, I get it, I'm just trying to do my due diligence and warn you that the character development is a bit of a slow burn. This is NOT a harem novel. Nothing against them, just not what it is. --------- Updates Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday Feel free to bother me on our discord- Discord!

The Sun's Remnant
Two people are transported to a world with magic, but it is no Wonderland. When the god of light died, he decided to take the world with him. At least, that’s what many believe in the Kingdom of Rhine, a once vast kingdom of which only a small corner remains — and even that is threatened. On one side, by the Twisted Forest, a corruption spreading from the deathplace of the gods that has already swallowed up most of Rhine. On the other, by the resurgent Kagrathan Empire, resurrected by the infallible God-Emperor Karlatz. A holy order of knights carry out their mission despite the death of their god. A band of talented misfits prepare for a heist out of their league — by stealing. Mages hunt for secrets even as the world ends. A ruler does what must be done to save the living, no matter the cost. Into this world of magic and murder, two adrift souls are inexplicably dragged: a mother estranged from her young daughter due to her own mistakes, and a young man with a love of fantasy who has gradually drifted away from his friends and family. As they each struggle to find their place in this world, they must also answer the question: do they want one?***Content Warning: I've drafted about 100,000 words (most of the first volume), and there is no sexual content so far, though I may add it in the future. There is occasionally gore and traumatising content as the story demands. I commit to keeping all of the above non-voyeuristic. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Legacy: A wolf's tale
Follow Akascha as she goes from a beast of burden to a lovely (well more like a slightly belligerent) young woman! Note. This is a shory story (about 25.000 words) I wrote a while back in high school. Therefore, the range and depth of the story might be a bit lacking, but I wanted to share it with you anyway now that I discovered RR. Although I would love comments or constructive criticisme (as one can always learn), be aware that I have - at this point in time - no plans of rewriting this story. Thank you and I hope you enjoy! Oh and before I forget! The first chapter is rather short, but the rest of the chapters will make up for it.
