According to Vedas, there are four yugas (Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga) and they keep repeating one after other. All the four yugas last for 4,320,000 years.
Kalyug started about 5,121 years ago after the Mahabharata War (in Dvapara Yuga) ended. In fact, Kalyug started after Mahabharata. Mahabharata has a lot to say about Kalyug. Earlier in the Mahabharata era , Lord Krishna had already predicted of how the Kalyug will be like.
The period of sins, miseries and wars. That is what Kalyug is going to be, he said. But the one who keeps faith in the divine , never gets affected by the brutal shadow of Kalyug ,but is always blessed by god.
