《Mystic: Gojo x Reader》3: Confusion
Advertisement
I walked into the observation room, already annoyed with whoever was behind the doors.
My eyes widened at the first face I saw.
"Nanami!?" I called as I threw my arms around him.
"Y/n, good to see you," he said plainly as he returned my hug.
"What are you doing here?!"
"I brought him," Satoru quickly interjected.
I cocked my head to the side in confusion as I looked at Nanami.
I had known him for a long time now, but he was a super formal guy. He never wanted to be called Kento... not unless you were looking to pick a fight with him.
"It seems I have been dragged into being one of Itadori's mentors."
"Oh, that's great! I think he really needs someone like you!"
"Yes, I saw you connected with him."
"Mm."
"That's actually why I called you here."
I looked at Principal Gakuganji, "I didn't realize you were the one who summoned me here... If I knew that, I wouldn't have came."
I turned back to Satoru, "But I'm assuming you knew that, didn't you Satoru?"
He laughed softly, "What can I say? I didn't want you to leave yet."
I rolled my eyes, "What do you want, old man? I'm a busy woman."
"Yes, well, I'll get straight to the point. When you connected with Itadori, did you also get a look into Sukuna's mind and soul?"
I looked at him annoyed, "And if I did, why would I tell you?"
"If you're wanting to protect the boy, it would be in your best interest to share any information with me."
I sighed loudly, "No, I didn't connect with Sukuna."
"Did you not have the ability to do so?"

"Of course I have the ability to do so. I chose not to."
He glared into me, "And why would you do that?"
"Because you ignorant fuck, who knows what would happen if I connected with a fucking Cursed Spirit... The King of Curses at that."
He scoffed, "That skill is wasted on you."
This man always makes it so difficult to keep my pact... There is truly no one else I would rather kill.
"Are we done? Can I leave?"
"Do as you wish. I have no further use for you."
With those words my blood began to boil over. I started walking towards him, ready to pounce, when Satoru grabbed my wrist.
I snapped my head back at him, "Oi! Now you want to stop me!?"
He simply shook his head.
"Y/n, since you're here, stay a while," Utahime called.
"I really should get going."
"Please," she called out. "I insist."
I bowed my head softly and took a seat, annoyed by the fact that she of all people asked me to stay. She's probably the only person in here I would actually listen to.
I sat alone but Satoru quickly sat next to me while Nanami sat in the row in front of us.
I leaned forward so my head was next to Nanami's, "So, how's it been lately?"
He looked at me from the corner of his eye as he pushed up his glasses, "Fine."
"How's Yuji in a fight?"
He crossed his arms, "Fine."
I sighed loudly, "Still not much of a talker? Even though we haven't seen each other in forever?"
"No, not really."
"Ha! Now you know how I feel!" Satoru yelled.
Nanami spoke up, "If you watch the screen, you'll see how young Itadori fights."

I looked up to see him and Todo, and Todo was pounding his face in with his foot.
"Ouch," I mumbled, trying not to cringe.
"Mm, I wouldn't count him out," Satoru sat back looking as smug as ever.
"What? You make him watch those movies and now think he's fine to battle against a Grade 1?" I scoffed.
"Hey! What's wrong with my movie technique!?"
"Quiet!" Yaga called from the back of the room.
I couldn't help but to giggle softly at being chastised like that.
Satoru looked at me with a small smile. "You're a child, Y/n," he whispered.
"Shh," I said while playfully pushing him. "You're going to get me in trouble, and then Yaga will send his teddy bears after us!"
"I heard that!" Yaga called again, and Satoru started laughing along with me.
"Shut it!!" Utahime yelled which only made us laugh harder.
Nanami tilted his head back to us slightly, "Looks like the large one is talking to Itadori."
"Hmm?" I whipped my head back to the screen, zoning in on the conversation.
I rolled my eyes as Todo asked his infamous question, "What's your type of woman?"
"Hey, didn't Todo say you were his type?" Satoru smirked smugly.
"Sh."
"Are you that interested in Itadori's response?" he teased. "Want to know if you have a chance?"
I lightly slapped his chest with the back of my hand. Whether or not I wanted to admit it, Satoru and I were always a good match with our personalities. I couldn't deny that we always had fun together.
"Mm, I guess tall women with a big ass," Itadori responded, mimicking Todo's words exactly.
Satoru started laughing uncontrollably, "So not only does Itadori think you're beautiful!! You're also exactly his type!"
"He's a bit young for you," Nanami stated.
"Hmph. I hope you said that shit when Satoru asked me out."
"I did. I told him every time he tried asking you out. What it take, 5 tries before you actually said yes?"
Satoru's laughing stopped immediately, and I smirked softly.
"She said yes on the 4th time," Satoru corrected while folding his arms. "And, she's always been of age."
"So that means I still have a couple years before I can ask out Yuji?" I teased.
He turned his head over to me with his mouth partially dropped. He looked like he was actually concerned a little bit.
I rested my hand on his leg. "I'm joking, Satoru," I reassured him softly.
Why did I say that? Who fucking cares if he thinks I'm interested in someone else... Geez, Y/n. Get it together.
He quickly put his hand with mine and intertwined our fingers, giving me a light squeeze.
I looked down at our hands, feeling a bit nervous but also a bit happy. I bit my lip softly, contemplating what to do next.
I took a deep breath, and returned my eyes back to the screen. I decided to leave my hand with his, and as he realized this, his thumb began to likely stroke my grasp.
My heart started racing, and I was worried the whole room could hear what I was feeling.
He leaned his head over just barely, and whispered so softly I almost didn't hear him, "I'm glad you're here."
I looked at him with confused but hopeful eyes, "Me too."

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
