Cassidy's pov-

It's been a week but I am happy. I don't hide the chain around my neck which had my engagement ring anymore nor do I act like I am strong.

When I left Dexton's mom and dad were very sad, but they understood. I have not been talking to anyone from Dexton's family.

I need space.

Anna has adjusted back to our lifestyle, she has gone to visit Dexton once, grand ma came and took her. Anna was a little sad when she came back because according her Dexton was very busy and did not play with her much.

I had resigned from The Andersons Company. I am also working from Home now for a small company which provides shipment.

The salary is enough a little less than before but enough.

And today, today was the day I dreaded.

Its Cara's wedding today, and I have to go as Anna is the flower girl. Cara asked me to be the bridesmaid but I denied, there was going to be media and if they saw me, that would be a whole new story.

Dexton would be there to, but I don't want to face nor do I want to break my promise. This week I came to realize that my world now starts and ends at Anna, if she decides to leave me in the future I would break.

I am scared that Anna would leave me like everyone else, but she is my daughter, I will try and give the world to her.

She deserves it, after all she is my princess.

"Momma see my dress, I look pretty!" Anna screamed and entered the room, I turned to her and truly she was looking wonderful.

"My princess was born Pretty!" I said as she giggled "no silly, my dress makes me look pretty." I smile and pick her up in my arms "hmmm, now let's go and get your hair done." I went and made Anna sit near the mirror and braided her.

After almost one hour me and Anna both of us were ready, I wore a simple off white dress which had sheer cut out on the top and ended a few inches below my knee.

Taking Anna's small hands in mine we entered the car sent to pick us up. Anna looked up at me and frowned "why do you look so nervous momma?" her question made shrug , what should have I told a four year old?

"Nothing princess."

The drive to the church was a forty five minute one.

The moment we stepped out of car the whole family came to us. Everyone was happy to see Anna; I hugged everyone and then went back to mom's side.

"Where is Cara?" I questioned as mom pointed to the room a little away from the church "Go and meet her, she has asked me to send you as soon as you arrive." I nodded and made my way to Cara's room when Anna tugged my dress "I want to meet Aunt Cara to!" Anna pouted "sure princess, come lets go" I said as both of us made our way to Cara's room.

I knocked the door twice and entered the room, there sat Cara in a beautiful mermaid style wedding dress.

Anna left my hand and ran to Cara hugging her leg "you look like a fairy Aunt Cara!" Cara laughed and wrapped her hand around Anna "you do to!" she said as the smile on Anna's face widened "really?" Anna questioned as Cara nodded and said "why don't you go to your Granma and ask for some flowers?"

Anna ran out of the room and Cara came to me but what surprised me was that her eyes were glossy, nervousness maybe?

"Hey, don't cry you don't want to ruin your makeup now, do you?" I tried to lift up her mood but it did not seem to work.

"Cass-Cassidy, we ha-have a problem." Cara said softly "what is it dear?" I questioned.

"Dexton is not ready to come, he has been working all week he claims that he is busy today also. Cassidy he is my big brother I have grown up with him. I want him here please, I don't know what happened between both or you that day but Dexton has closed us all of since then." Tears streamed down Cara's eyes as I wondered if I was to blame.

"Where is he, right now?" I questioned because I was now starting to get worried.

"He is in the office at the house, please bring him." I smile "he is your big brother there are still three hours left for the wedding to start, I promise to get him."I said taking hold of Cara's hand as she tightened her hands on mine "I'm off" I said and ran to the car on the way I signaled mom to take care of Anna.

The drive was for about twenty minutes considering the fact that could have gotten several speed tickets.

I ran inside the big mansion at then towards Dexton's office, when I reached the door it was all ready open. Taking a slow breath I entered the inbuilt office and there Dexton sat , he had bags under his eyes his hair messed up his eyes missed the usual spark.

He did not notice me so I took slow steps towards him, I placed my hands on his shoulder when he shuddered and looked up.

He stilled for a moment and I broke the silence "Dexton, I understand the past few days have been hard but you can't leave your sister's wedding, she is missing you, she needs her big brother" Dexton did not say anything for a moment before replying "I'm busy Cassidy, don't disturb me."

Why was he acting so stubborn!?

"No Dexton I will not leave, you are not only talking about your little sister but also about my best friend, whom I have promised that I would bring her brother." I said and that seemed to break the ice, never in my entire life had I seen Dexton cry but now his eyes were glassy, he blinked a couple of time to stop the tears from falling.

"Go away" Dexton tied again, his voice cracked a bit "you know me Dexton, I am damn stubborn so deal with me, tell me what is the problem." I tried again.

Dexton turned his back to me and his body started shaking, clearly he was crying and I hurt to see him this way.

I turned Dexton around to face me again and wrapped my arms around him before softly muttering "what's wrong?"

Dexton remained quiet for a moment "I don't deserve all this Cassy."

He called me Cassy; he did not even realize it. I ignored the name.

"What are you trying to say?" I questioned loving the warmth of his body but trying to ignore it as well.

"It-it's my fault Cassy." He said as I felt confused.

"What are you saying?" I questioned.

"Us Cassy, we fell apart because of me." I unwrapped my arms and looked at him with more attention. "huh?"

Dexton closed his eyes for a moment before starting "A month before our divorce I went to the hospital for regular a check up like always but this time the medical reports said that I was not capable of having a child. I was scared of how you would react so I hid it from you; I loved you too much I was afraid I would lose you and the day you went to the hospital for your pregnancy check up. I got a call from the hospital telling me you were pregnant I was confused so I called you but you did not pick up the phone. I kept trying to call you when I got an email from a journalist the email had pictures of you with Justin taken in an angle that it seemed as if you bot-both were doing something wrong."

I gasped and stepped back while Dexton continued "at first I was confused but then it all made sense to me, you being pregnant and then going shopping with Justin. I assumed the worst. The journalist asked for a million dollars to keep the news at bay and I agreed. I was devastated, hurt, angry so I did what made sense to me I gave you freedom from me so that you could live happily and then years later you returned back none of the records you gave the office said you were married of had a child, I was confused again until Anna said everything that night "

"What?" I was shocked, my eyes stringed with tears.

"the rep-reports that the hospital gave me were fake, it was the same hospital you went to the same hospital which was closed legally but I never knew until a week ago, I only wanted to make you happy even though I was heartbroken so I decided to hate you hate you so much that there was no love left in me to give" Dexton confessed as anger took over me even though I understood what had happened, it was not entirely Dexton's fault.

"I hate you Dexton Anderson how could you, I loved you so much." I sobbed while the anger within me blazed "you, you made me feel as if I was disgusting when I was loved all the way, how could you?" I screamed poking my finger in his chest "how could you I hate you, no I love you wait what am I saying I hate you" my emotions were not exactly in control.

Anger, sadness and happiness all together were a weird combination.

Suddenly I heard what I had not heard for ages" I love you Cassidy Ande-Valentino, I am sorry for my mistakes but I promise to be a better person for you for our daughter. Please give me one more chance" Dexton literally begged while tried to keep my emotion in control.

He loved me. The love had was not one sided, he loved me enough to leave me. He loved me he loved our daughter what more could I ask for?

"Get ready." I ordered while Dexton looked at me with his teary face "what?" he whispered while I answered "get ready, it is your sister's wedding your daughter is waiting for you as well as your family and your ex-wife plans to take her old position back she is going to claim her man back again, so you better hurry up Dexton Anderson I am not a patient person."
