"Ok L, my dad was a shinigami, that's why you can never see him in family photos, I could and my mom could but my moms dead and I never want to look at those pictures since I hate my family."
"So your telling me your other eye, that you told me was a birth defect is just a permanent shinigami eye?"
"Yes."
"Wait wait wait, why do you hate your family?"
"My mother tried to knock me out with a vase and she didnt love me, how could I like her after that?"
"And what about your dad...?"
"He was gone a lot and he was too much of a bystander. Plus he could have visited me whenever he wanted but he didn't even bother. Plus he gave my mom a notebook like the one we found a few days ago and she did some killings but then died since she made the eye trade to see peoples names and their lifespans."
"Wow you're relaying some important information."
"Well that and I also have the notebooks rules memorized, that's how I learned how to read, I stole my moms notebook."
"Wow, you continue to impress me."
As the three people arrived at the place (name) was once forced to call home they walked inside and right as the receptionist saw who arrived they immediately knew what to do and sent them to this room with a doctor and the "warden". The doctor was purely there to check if (name) was doing ok after she was drugged for a few hours. But then they left and then she was evaluated to see if she was well enough to be out of the hospital. She took the test fairly fast and the greatest news she has heard in all her life was given to her. "(name) you are finally released for good from the mental hospital. Congrats!" Then the "warden" shook her hand but she was hesitant. But once that was all over the three of them booked it out of there, of course after signing the right paperwork and all. Then they drove home. It was fairly quiet and it was nice to have the peace and quiet. But once they returned back to the building the most worried for her was Ligjt. And once he saw her walking through the doors he ran up to her and gave her a hug. But then he whispered in her ear to meet up later to talk. They all gathered for one hour to quickly celebrate the release of (name) since they have all grown sort of close to her. But right afterwards they had to focus working on the case again. Then as people were working and Light noticed that L was busy he grabbed (name)'s attention and took her to another room. They both sat down and (name) figured what was about to happen. "Have you figured me out yet?" "Well what do you mean?" "Remember when we were in the helicopter?" "Are you mentioning the fact that you got your memories back and kept the notebook for as long as you could to kill Higuchi and then have ownership of the notebook?" "Yeah. Are you going to tell?" "Tell L? I have not decided yet." "Well make up your mind because if you tell him then I'll kill you." "Wow so much for a friend Light." "You're not scared of a death threat?" "I've been threatened before." "Well don't sell me out ok?" "I'll think about it." Then they left the room. The night fell and (name) felt like pulling an all nighter. She approached L while he was working and asked him something.

"Do you remember what I said in the car?"
"Yes, you said that you had a notebook of your moms memorized."
"Well it was a death note to be specific, and I know we have one in possession. And I read through all of it."
"What did you find?"
"Fake rules."
"Well which ones were they?"
"The ones in the back of the book. The thirteen day rule is one specific."
"Well what does that mean?"
"Well the confinement was useless."
"So that's the only way we know that Light is for sure Kira."
"Yes."
So that night we tried to get all evidence that pointed towards Light being Kira. And lucky for us we found stuff. So that morning, when Light walked through the HQ doors he immediately had handcuffs slapped onto hs wrists. He shot a look at me super fast and I nearly flinched. He grumbled and then got words out, "You made up your mind.. TO DIE!" "I made up my mind to keep you from commiting mass murder!" "You know I saved your ass that day! With the guards! I killed them! And to return the favor you're arresting me!" "Well it was the right thing to do!" "Both of you please stop" L cut in, "(name), thank you for giving me some important information, and Light, you are the worst kind of friend. I trusted you-" "YOU THOUGHT I WAS KIA THE WHOLE TIME!" "But I considered you a friend. But you broke that bond with the flick of your wrist." "Well that friendship was just to get to you! And (name), I loved you, you could have been my queen, and your eye could have helped me so much along the way, we could have been justice together." "You know Light, I would get rid of this eye if I could, it reminds me of my past, so thank you very much for reminding me of the things I hate the most." "Well I'm sorry, but still, you could have been my queen, but you decided death!" He grabbed a knife from L's cake from last night and threw it in my direction. I ducked and dodged the attack. And then, Light was taken away and I never truly saw him again. Well I heard from him, I just never saw him. Because I would visit him, I mean he was a friend of mine, for a short period of time. He was the first to treat me as a real human, and L does not count at this point in time. But I also feel a bit of guilt thinking about how we arrested him and how sudden it was, but he was the most sought out criminal in the world and we had to do something so I did, with L's help of course. And now, things are normal, Im not dead, and neither is L. We travel the world happily solving interesting cases, because I still have my intellect. And once I got to a certain age, it all ended. My dad ended it for me. With his stupid little black note book. He wrote my name in and I died, but he made sure he wrote my death the way he thought I would want it after all those years. I died peacefully with my loved ones by my side.

The Way Ahead
What do you do when you don't fit in? Edwin never really felt many connections to other people, but as a physics student, that was fine. He didn't really need it, anyway. He was content to peel back the mysteries of the universe... not that there were many left to find. Modern-day research was just too well-established, too well-trodden for any single enthusiast to make any significant headway. But that doesn't apply to other worlds. Not ones where magic and Skills run rampant, where well-defined roles and Classes dominate much of society with little room for novel experimentation from its residents. That kind of world would be perfect for an overeager, newly-minted Alchemist to make his mark. Things are never that easy, though. The Way Ahead is a very slice-of-life story following the story of someone trying to find his place in a world that doesn't know what to do with him. Expect lots of science, lots of alchemy, a few sarcastic quips by the System, and lots of exploration involving the world, self-discovery, and above all, science. After all, further research is always required. Updates every other day at 9 AM PST. Congratulations! For writing a story during the month of November, you have unlocked the Royal Road Writathon Participant path!

Boredom is an eternity spent in a second, an eternity he never wants to experience again. Even if it means passing time by mindlessly. Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity. This is the struggle for their right of existence. As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.
