《Unstable (L x Reader)》Chapter Ten: Higuchi

We saw as Higuchi threatened to end his own life with a gun but luckily Watari had excellent marksmanship skills and shot the gun right out of his hand and did not injure or kill him at all. That I wish I could do. Then we got him in handcuffs and everything and the mission was a success. I could sense that L could finally see the shinigami since I sensed a flinch in his chair. But when Light held it he let out a blood curdling scream. I approached him, since we were friends after all, and I checked if he was ok. He slowly nodded and then told me he needed to look at this notebook a little longer. In my opinion it sounded childish how he wanted to look at the thing longer, but I cannot parent him since he will just counter parent me. But then he ended up getting his memories back from the notebook he must have previously owned.. Probably... maybe... I hate doubting myself. Light was taking forever to look over our evidence so I got bored and asked Watari where he learned his excellent marksmanship since I found it so amazing. He was very humble about it but managed to avoid my question. Then after not paying attention to both Light and L together I noticed that L and Light were fighting for the notebook, sort of. It was like this:
"Light could have the notebook back to give to (name), I think she needs to see this since she is apart of this investigation after all."
"Im almost done, just give me a few more minutes."
"I need it now Light, please hand it back."
"L it's fine he can have it for a bit longer."
"No, I think you should look over this, there's probably something really important inside."

"But I still need a minute!"
"Light just give her the notebook!"
"I'm not done analyzing it yet!"
"Would you both quit it! I will just take the notebook and both of you stop fighting like children!"
I think I got my message across to them because then they were quiet. But I still felt bad for yelling at them so I apologized. "It's completely fine (name) we understand that you were just bothered by our quarreling." "Yes I was quite annoyed but I'm glad your not mad." "Why would I be mad at you (name)? We are finally great friends I would not want to ruin that!" "I guess you're right Light, now lets get home and look through this book." Then that was the end, that was it. The whole Higuchi mission was over and completed. I held onto the notebook for a while, just looking through all the names. I mean I knew none of them, but I could tell this man really rushed to get through all of these names. So I had to only assume that he was the type that would anxiously wait for the 40 seconds to pass through. And once we got back to headquarters we decided to announce to the public that a Kira suspect has been caught and was given the death penalty just to cover up the fact that a guy just actually died. But since the press could see this I had a horrible feeling on what was going to happen next. And I was very right.Because the next morning, really early, there was a knock at the door. I got up slowly to get it, but L beat me to it since he was up late interrogating Rem. I slowly peered around the corner and saw two familiar evil faces. It was my guards that had been assigned to me ever since I was transferred to a higher security cell. I was unsure if they saw me but I hid as fast as I could. My child instincts had come back to me. I was crying all the tears I have ever had started spilling out. Sort of like my emotions. I heard footsteps walking around and I thought that they were for sure coming for me and I was done for. The door began to creak open and then as I heard the guards talking and saying things like, "It's been so weird not having her around, I mean she's probably going to stay there forever and rot inside." "Yeah poor girl." I could tell these guards were actually different people. But I was wrong when the first one said again, "Pshhh! I just miss seeing her hot ass body. It was perfect." "Yeah you're so right, her boobs and ass were the perfect size." Then when I heard their feet round the corner of my bed they saw me hiding in the corner. Then approached me and they changed again, using more of a baby tone, trying to "calm me down" and they were like, "Sweetie it's time to come back home!" "yeah you haven't healed all the way! Plus the doctors and nurses miss you, especially us." That made me back up into the wall even more and it also made me feel more uncomfortable. They were a third older than me, I think. Maybe late thirties. Which made them liking me sort of, as in, very very gross. Then they got closer and closer to me. My back hit the wall and I flinched. The tears came back and I was scared and sad to leave, but mostly scared. I hated that place, they were pretty much evil human beings there. Then since there was no more room for me to run their hands came closer and closer to me and they grabbed my arms. I then started thrashing trying to escape their grip but they were too strong. They were squeezing my arms very tight. They were pulling me apart and dragging me out of my room. I saw the whole task force there and they saw me thrashing like a child crying and kicking and screaming begging me to let go and to stay here, because this was truly my home. Then as they were getting closer and closer to the door I changed eyesight for a quick second and noticed their lifespans had quickly changed. "Your life spans changed!! I'm saved!! Kira must have found their names!! I'm saved, I won't have to go back.!!" "What the hell are you talking about "killer ten year old"!? What lifespans?!" "You're making no sense, your talking nonsense." "You're going to die soon!! Finally I will be released from my misery!" I then began laughing hysterically and it earned me odd looks but I could feel that they felt sorry for me since I was being dragged out of the place I called home. I could feel the warm feeling of tears falling. And I could feel my laughing get louder and louder and my strength coming back to me. I kicked one of the guards in the balls and he fell to the floor on his knees. But the other guards just switched hands and held me tight then the guy that I kicked the balls shoved a needle in my foot where he knew where a lot of my veins were and I could feel my vision leaving me and everything also became limp. Then everything went black as I fell to the floor with a thud following my own.

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *
